a) For many years now I have aspired to be a Pediatrician. My mother is a radiologist technologist so I’ve grown up around the medical field. From an early age, medicine and science struck my interest and they are both subjects I am very passionate about learning. I love helping people, especially kids, which is why I have chosen to pursue this career field. I truly want to make a difference in modern medicine and become the best health care provider I can be. b) It is immensely important to set goals and work towards achieving them in order to stay on track and aim higher. By setting challenging goals it makes oneself work harder and really drive for what they desire. In college, I am determined to achieve an “A” grade in chemistry. In high …show more content…
school I elected to take honors chemistry and it was the most strenuous class I’ve endured. I was able to achieve an A throughout the entirety of the year and I want to do the same with college chemistry, as it is pertinent to my career field. c) A couple of my hobbies include playing volleyball, hiking, and babysitting. Even though I usually babysit as a job, I truly enjoy spending the time with the kids. Also, I know that caring for kids and working on those communication skills will help aid me in my chosen career. Spending time outdoors and with my family is very valuable to me. Hiking is a great way to do that as well as discover new beautiful places. Volleyball has been a huge part of my life and has had an immense impact on my character. I have learned so much about leadership, teamwork, and determination and those qualities have shaped me academically and just as a person in general. d) This past March I was a part of CMR high school’s HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) club and I was able to compete at State.
My event was HOSA bowl, an academic competition, very similar to Jeopardy except the questions are medically based. My team and I were able to take first out of twelve teams competing from around the state. This was a big achievement as this was my first HOSA competition and I was able to retain a lot of new knowledge in preparing for this event. I am incredibly proud of my team and myself for winning the gold by using our deep understanding of the human body. Getting accepted into medical school is very challenging and competitive; this experience shared both of those characteristics and prompted hard work. e) Due to that face that I have always been a proponent of fairness and equality, one issue that I feel needs some improvement in American is gender equality. Our country has made great strides in this direction in recent decades, recognizing the right for women to vote and reducing domestic violence. I believe wage equality is the next hurdle we face in our progress and I think women that are willing and capable of achieving exemplary results in their jobs will slowly overcome the wage gap between men and …show more content…
women. f) A person who has had a significant influence on me is easily my friend Jason.
To start off my day, every morning I work with special education kids for an hour. Many days I work with Jason, who is paralyzed from the waist down and has learning disabilities as well as troubled speech. Jason and I look at the newspaper, work on worksheets, make projects, and sometimes go on walks. Throughout the months I’ve worked with him I have learned a lot about patience. Being a beneficial peer helper requires me to explain things in multiple ways until he understands, this can sometimes take a good while. Everyday Jason improves and it’s truly heartwarming to watch his growth and achievements. Jason makes me very thankful for my health and ability to walk, as it is something many of us take for granted. Overall, I have learned a lot about interacting with those of special needs and I greatly appreciate those who teach and volunteer with Special Olympics. g) I am proud to be an American! I was very lucky to be born an American citizen. I believe myself to be a person who fights for what is right, not just for myself but also for others and I identify with our founding fathers, the reasons they fought tyranny and their vision of a country with liberty and human rights where all of its citizens have equality. I am proud to be part of a country that not only ensures the rights of its own citizens but also fights on the behalf of people who are treated unfairly
worldwide.
Children get injured or sick every day, and it doesn’t matter whether the child goes to a doctor or a pediatrician they are still tended to by a pediatric nurse. A pediatric nurse has to have many qualities. They also have to take many different classes. A pediatric nurse’s pay can vary from location to location depending on where they are working. Pediatric nurses must endure many different things to make it into this particular work field, and have many different qualities.
(#11) Dedication, persistence and time are all a factor to accomplishing a goal.College students know that dedication, persistence and time are all factors to accomplishing a goal. It also can depend on the goal itself to see what else is needed to be successful. Many college students believe that dedication, persistence, and time is key to accomplishing a goal. Depending on the student's grade level depends on their dedication also.
My future goal and aspiration is to become successful in mentally, physically and more ever being educated as best possible. Now I want to become a Pediatrician and I may change my mind probably once or even twice in what I want my career to be. I am a 16 year old teenager who want the best to succeed on the long run. For now, I have set a goal to become a Pediatrician because I love helping kid and teenage to turn their heads into having a great lifestyle. I would like having a job that could impact families, communities or even the world. The word changing can be interpreted in many ways like such like adjustment, switch transformation, but they all have the same meaning.
Many people in this world want to make a difference in life. However, most people do not want to put in all the effort that it takes to do so. The job of a pediatrician is life-changing to many. Unfortunately, it takes drive and effort that many people do not have, to become a pediatrician. A pediatrician’s job is a highly-skilled and interesting job because he or she has the privilege to deal with and help as many children as possible.
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
I have known from an early age that I’ve wanted to become a doctor. Helping people has always been a passion of mine. When I was younger, I wanted to be a veterinarian. However, after working with young children I have found that I love working with them, and have a connection with children. Currently, I am interested in becoming either a neonatologist or a general pediatrician so I can continue to work with young children.
While researching what medical field I was interested in, I learned that a nurse practitioner does everything a doctor does such as order blood work, diagnose illnesses and prescribe medicine except nurse practitioners have less than half of the paper work a doctor does. This was something that really intrigued me because I had dreamed of becoming a pediatrician to provide care for children but the thought of having mountains of paperwork discouraged me as I would rather help children than sit and file papers all day. This requires a master's degree in nursing but is recommended that one gets their doctorate. Its is also required to complete a residency and fellowship same as a doctor, because pediatric nurse practitioners have the same responsibilities as a doctor does.
Being a junior in High School I am frequently asked the question what career I want to pursue. I have many ambitions and passions but the career field I would most imagine myself being in, is Pediatric Nursing. I love helping, caring and providing for people and children in need of help. Being a Pediatric Nurse is not just caring for patients but is also educating parents about their child’s health. Helping someone and their family everyday would be the highlight of my life! I love making people happy and seeing the smiles and laughs of children.
My career choice is to become a pediatrician. The question is: what makes this job so interesting or fantastic enough to be chosen? This job requires many sacrifices, skills, and strengths to endeavor the obstacles on the way to the goal. This particular job is also a very honorable and noble job in the sense of helping children with their illnesses and ailments. Personally, I love children and I’m always fascinated by their actions and interesting techniques of expressing themselves. Since I am intrigued by the children’s personality I love spending time with them (and that’s why their child-like ways rub off on me). Thus, I believe that my own childish personality and my love of children will motivate me in the near future to help them out with their medical needs. Also, being a pediatrician and helping out children has its own rewards. Not only will I be doing something I enjoy, but I will be getting paid a generous price as well. A pediatrician’s salary is not the highest one compared to surgeons or cardiologists, but it’s enough to have a life that is something more than simply satisfying. Another good aspect of this job is that they only focus on the health of children rather than all of the age groups. An adult and a child are so different they are nearly two different species. If a child is brought to a doctor who specializes in all age groups, the child would not be getting the same kind of attention that he or she would be getting, compared to that from a doctor who specializes only in children. Doctors that specialize in all age groups are used to make quick, rough, and fundamental actions need for the healing of the patient. One does not simply treat a child the same way an adult would be treated. The child would becom...
There are many jobs out there for the world but which fits each person? Career choices are made because people enjoy to do it, and somehow find a way to connect with them. A pediatrician specializes in children and their diseases. Some requirements that apply for a pediatrician can be buoyant while playing, and taking care of kids. A great quality to have can be patience as well, since pediatricians never stop learning. Pediatricians get paid $135,000 a year. With time that salary can increase to $175,000 but it varies on how much effort and time the person puts in, as well as recommendations by other peers. Many jobs offer different benefits. An example of a benefit for a pediatrician can be health insurance. This insurance covers for medical and surgical expenses, and
In the future, I hope to pursue my career dream of becoming a pediatrician. Pediatricians can be identified individuals who specialize in giving medical care to children and adolescents between infancy to adulthood at eighteen years of age. I became inspired to become a pediatrician due to my immense love of children. Perhaps I have an innate intuition for taking care of people being that I have always felt that I excel at taking care of others. The idea of taking care of others truly makes me feel that I serve a purpose, not only to better the life of myself but the life of others. Therefore, I believe that becoming a pediatrician will help me combine the best of both worlds into a career that I adore and cherish.
My Education and career goals will be majoring in Biology so I can go onto study for Radiologist. Probably, I noticed when my parents and also my mentor inspired to great things and never giving up what you love. I picked Radiologist because I saw how the doctors interact with people, doing a lot of computer, diagnosis, and it also maintain to be in a medical field and that will be a challenge. The things that affected me to participate what I do for the community is to help others. I know is challenging for me to stay professional and cooperate with people, but it would be best to interact with their needs. I learn from this experience because I can do hard work and hard work paid off but making mistakes that don't stop me from doing it the
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
Pediatrics is an exciting and challenging field which I consider the only career choice for me. My interest in the discipline was reinforced during core pediatric clerkship rotation, when I was particularly attracted by the special bond between the pediatrician, the patient, and the parents, while working for the best outcome. I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Aleppo University in Syria with very good overall average. Then, I was accepted to the Pediatric Residency Program at Damascus University Children 's Hospital which was the only pediatric tertiary center in the country. Ultimately, in 2001 I became the youngest licensed pediatrician in Syria. Afterwards, I worked in primary, secondary, and tertiary centers, in Syria and Saudi Arabia until 2013. In 2014, I joined McMaster NICU as a clinical fellow, where I upgraded my technical neonatal skills, and became more familiar with the Canadian health system.
“What are your plans after high school?”, “What goals do you have?”, or “What do you want to spend the rest of your life doing?” These seem like harmless questions that should be simple enough to answer, but the fact is that I find my goals are hard to define, difficult to put into words. For instance, I want to become a general pediatric practitioner to help cure sick children, but I also want to show God’s glory and love through my everyday life. Undoubtedly, the job of a pediatrician is important, but I would like to take the role of a children’s doctor in a more advanced direction. My goal is to go beyond simply making the children well again; I would like to allow them to walk away from me with the tools to be in even better physical and
