Can we start off by asking ourselves “How would you handle the situation of knowing you could be in danger no matter what decision you make?’’Leaving a non safe environment and going out in the dark while something bad can also happen to you while your out under those conditions in the dark all alone. The foreshadowing state I am left with is curiosity by leaving us readers thinking what could he be drawing that causes him to react the way he did. He wasn’t capable of stopping from drawing to at least take time to himself by eating a decent meal taking that break of relaxation. “So intent was I on my work that I left my lunch untouched only stopping work when the clock of St. Jude's stroke four.”(textual evidence eighth stanza) In his opinion he stated that he felt as if this specific master peace was one of his best work of art and his marvelous accomplishments by far. With this the author is catching your attention what makes this specific drawing so important that it has him losing his appetite could it be something more meaningful that what is briefly described ? …show more content…
“From there onward I have only the vaguest recollections of where I went”(textual evidence thirteenth stanza). He wasn’t capable of understanding what happened to him but he kept walking five to six miles. The last time he check the time it was when a little boy asked him he remembered it saying twenty minutes till seven. I was still trying to comprehend how he lost his memory what could have been the cause of it was he supposed to lose it as a sign of knowing how or why he drew the picture of the
Wayne, transforms this painting into a three dimensional abstract piece of art. The focal point of the painting are the figures that look like letters and numbers that are in the front of the piece of art. This is where your eyes expend more time, also sometimes forgiving the background. The way the artist is trying to present this piece is showing happiness, excitement, and dreams. Happiness because he transmits with the bright colours. After probably 15 minutes on front of the painting I can feel that the artist tries to show his happiness, but in serene calm. The excitement that he presents with the letters, numbers and figures is a signal that he feels anxious about what the future is going to bring. Also in the way that the colors in the background are present he is showing that no matter how dark our day can be always will be light to
Personification is presented by the author as the only explanation for the narrator’s consumption. “The Blue Estuaries” begins to stir the narrator’s own poems (line 24) until she bores down on the page once more, coming back into what is perceived by the reader as a much more clear state of mind. Then, the narrator claims to have “lost her doubts” for a moment (line 34). This was a turning point in the narrator’s tone- signalling a shift in her thoughts, and was a strikingly out of place claim- especially coming from somebody so preoccupied- making the reader wonder what she had thought about for a moment. The narrator then begins to read once more (Line
...giving to humanity. Both paintings seem to suggest that this kind of selflessness will result in serenity.
One of the literary techniques most prominently featured throughout the passage would be that of imagery. The author takes great care to interweave sentences comparing the traits

...mple of imagery is when Richard’s friends run up to him with his article in their hands and a baffled look on their faces. This shows that Richard is a very talented writer for his age and that Richard is a very ambitious person because his school never taught him to write the way he does. This also shows that Richard took it upon himself to become a talented author and wants to be a writer when he grows up.

..., the broader feel of the scene. He wants us to take in the entirety of the painting but have a moment to catch the individual scenes within it, like the couple dancing, the man in the corner rolling his cigar, or the women in the front talking to the man. We do get places where our eyes can rest, but in general your eye takes in the swirl of modern life and pleasure.
Base needs met, Chef moves to fulfill sexual needs without love; just an opportunity to pontificate to “get the girl”. A painting of an apple causes Chef to dwell on times past; a time before war. A time of friendship; not love. We do not need details. The apple peeling away is enough. It is a comfort to him. A simpler less complicated time where his life was his own. Art stimulates the mind.
Walking into a dangerous situation without the right number of people or amount of equipment can determine whether you live or tragically die. The protagonist in Jack London’s To Build a Fire decided to set out on his journey alone and when it came down to it, he could have survived had he brought another person with him. He was slowly freezing to death and could not build a fire to save his life, if another man was with him, they might have been able to help assist him and his chances of surviving would have been much higher. “He was a newcomer to the land, a chechaquo, and this was his first winter” (London). Which gave him the appeal of being a newbie and since it was his first time, he did not come prepared enough. Another man who made the mistake of traveling unprepared was Chris McCandless, Chris packed lightly, almost too lightly in fact that it would be another leading cause of his death. It may not be “what’s in your pack that separates the quick from the dead” (Gonzales), but it does not hurt to come prepared. Nobody is sorry they brought enough equipment but people are sorry if they didn’t bring any. Neither of these men were successful and maybe if they had been more equipped to handle their situations, they could have
This marked the beginning of his inspiration to form a personal, expressive, and religious stance on his art values and style. He has found his process and content that will be apparent in his future work.
He struggles as an artist himself, as a writer, and as a human being. He feels misunderstood and tormented, perhaps exactly what this story is all about. The irrationality in the people that surround the Hunger Artist, and the inconsistency of the audience is reflective of this vision that Kafka wrote an autobiography of himself, as there is no reader who can truly understand what he is experiencing in life, his thoughts, ideologies, emotions, or intentions. Not even the remarkable admiration of the spectators for the Hunger Artist can, at least in the beginning of the story, be considered to be a success for him in Kafka's point of view because it is based on a serious misinterpretation of the artist's
This painting may not look like much at first, but it is full of meaning and emotion whether it’s you who are feeling it or the artist who made it. That artist happens to be the Dutch painter, Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent actually made three different versions of this painting, that are currently residing in the Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago, Amsterdam, Van Gogh Museum, and Paris, Musée d'Orsay museums. He also made two sketches of this peace that are in the Amsterdam, Van Gogh Museum, and Paris, Private collection, he included those sketches in his letters to friends and family. This one specifically is one of the copies that is being help at the Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago. [redundant, you already specified this paintings location in the first part of the paper] A lot is known about this series of paintings since he wrote an abundance of letters about it in detail to his loved ones, he wrote about 13 letters to be exact (Brooks, The Paintings).
This also applies with the painting. There are small details that one would not notice at first glance and after looking more closely, everything “starts to stand out”. The first stanza of my poem is referring to feeling overwhelmed. Everything starts to pile up onto one another and soon it all becomes “one gigantic mess”. When I look at the entire painting, I stare at it in awe because of how much time and precision it took the artist Bruce Gray. The circles are perfect and the colors do not even blend into one another. Although when looking at it, it seems like it is all too much and the colors actually do start to blend together. The second stanza talks about how everything “is not actually very frightening” and rather we make it seem that way. Because of how the painting seems overwhelming, it can cause dismay to many people, but honestly it is just “little pieces put together” as said in the fourth stanza. The last stanza in my poem says that we need to look closely at everything in not only the artwork we are replicating, but also life in general. Sometimes there are things that we do not notice and later on it starts to greatly impact us. That’s why it is best to closely the first time, or at least the second, in order to make the best out of everything.
The poem has a very melancholy tone throughout, expressing the feelings of Browning’s ‘Del Sarto’, and to an extent Browning himself. It deals with the artists demise, or recline, that he thinks is slowly starting to destroy his life, and the freedom he once had as an artist. He makes references to the ‘autumn in everything’ that he now sees, and the sin of him being ‘tempted’ by ‘Francis’ coin’, which he ‘took’. It is clear from the beginning of the poem that ‘Del Sarto’ that he has to live with his resolve, and although he tries to outline his plight, he doesn’t change it, as he says to Lucrezia ‘do not let us quarrel any more’. He is succumbing to what he has to now do. He has to work now for the money he will gain, which destroys the ethos of art. Hi reference to the recipient of the piece as a ‘friends friend’ emphasizes how distant he has got from his art, and his audience. It is not a particular audience, and neither does the picture convey much, as it is just for money.
