As John MacArthur once said, “You are the only Bible some unbelievers will ever read!” To Christians, this should stand out; To Christians, this should speak truth; To Christians, this should be their motivation to teach about Jesus Christ. The Bible is the most important foundation for being a Christian. In the world that we live in today, there are so many misconceptions on what it means to be a Christian. John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes through the Father except through me.” If you are a true Christian, you must hear these words, believe these words, and proclaim these words. There should be no confusion on what it means to be a Christian. The Bible gives it to us one way, the only …show more content…
A Christian is someone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and lives their life to glorify him and be a disciple for him. God did not just send his son to die for us, so we could call ourselves “believers” and keep living a sinful life. He sent Jesus to die for us, so we may be saved by grace of God, and not have to carry the weight of our sins. Jesus died for the sins of the world, and from that we have everlasting life. Non-Christians believe Christians claim to be “perfect people”, when in fact no one is perfect. When Eve went against God by eating the fruit from the Garden of Eden, this created sin which changed the world forever. Just like everything else, God knew what he was doing and he had a plan. His ultimate plan of sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we may be forgiven is our saving …show more content…
This is the missing piece between what some people think it means vs. the truth. This relationship is by far the most important relationship you will ever have in your life. Saying you’re a Christian is the easiest part, but having a strong relationship with our heavenly father is not easy. You must spend time everyday getting into the word, and learning more and more about God. The more you learn and talk to God, the stronger your relationship will be. The relationship is the most important thing for believers. Yes, the bible is important; Yes, praying is important; Yes, accepting God is necessary, but all these things are not complete without a one on one relationship with the Lord. The biggest misconception of being a Christian is the thought of just being able to go to church and read the bible, and expect to get into heaven one day. You also can’t be raised in a church and think that means you’re good to go. These are no excuses for why you should automatically get into heaven. In the end, you must have a relationship with God, bottom line. So, ask yourself, do I have a true relationship with God, or am I just giving myself the title, “Christian.” Am I just talking the talk, or actually walking the
As ancient Rome began to fall, Christianity began rising. Around 2,000 years ago, Jesus of Nazareth was born, later to be known as the Messiah or Son of God. When people of the Roman era began to hear of such a powerful being, they began to convert to Christianity. Why did Christianity take hold on the ancient world; Christianity took hold on the ancient world because it offered immortality, equality, and it was spread like wildfire.
Christianity has grounded our lives in the living God as revealed through Jesus. This belief must be a choice people make as well as a gift we all receive within the Christian community. Christians must trust in and rely upon God as the source of everything in their lives. Faith is about believing in the trinity; God, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit as three in one. Christians follow Jesus’ teachings and answer the call to be his disciples in the world. Christian faith is looking forward to joining God in the future and entering into the coming kingdom that God has promised His followers through Jesus. Christians join together in reflecting with each other in the Christian community about the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ. Christians believe in the “new life in Christ,” which is the gift of God’s grace; such rebirth and personal assurance gives all new eyes to see the living truth in Scripture. The Christian worldview may differ in different denominations of Christianity but only exist because of their belief of God and Jesus.
Many people would not believe that worldview would be involved in the topic of work, but it certainly is. Worldview stretches throughout almost every facet of our lives and is even an intricate part of work. Christian and secular viewpoints differ immensely when it comes to work. Many Christians believe that work is an intricate part of God’s plan for mankind while the secular viewpoint sees it as more of a personal, everyday activity the serves no more of a purpose that that of personal success. The secular worldview has distorted the context of work and only the Christian worldview can redeem it to its original context.
Worldview expression is the quintessential way to elucidate what is going on within us, as well as the agency which telegraphs our cognitive claims and operative beliefs back to the world. That is, what we speak and do, reveals the lens upon which we view the world around us. From a personal application standpoint, theism, the worldview lens by which I base my decisions and actions, encompasses and influences several realities, namely, when it concerns verity with regard to what I believe and why I trust it, and how it affects my actions within a circadian cyclical system. Indeed, a Christian theistic worldview has been an instigator of change in my life, and answers the why and how of who we are and where we are going.
What is a Judea Christian Worldview? A Christian worldview is more than just a simple expression of one’s faith, it is the foundation of everything you say and do through the lens of a Biblical perspective. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Gen. 1:1) Now in the midst of all this creation, there was chaos.
Elijah Taylor Mr. Sowers Understanding the Times 1/8/2015 Worldview Paper People have eyes. The parts in the eye work together to send a signal to the optic nerve. The optic nerve then sends these signals to the visual cortex — the part of the brain that controls our sense of sight.
My Christian worldview impacts my life in many aspects such as career, family, marriage, and personal life. I believe that God wants us to be in a relationship with him, our family, and our neighbors. By applying my Christian worldview to my career and relationships I am better able to fulfill God’s calling and live in fellowship with him. According to Veith, the doctrine of vocation states, “God has chosen to work through human beings, who, in their different capacities and according to their different talents, serve each other (p.14).” This doctrine emphasizes that God has made each individual complex and different, which allows them to give to the world in various ways in order to serve each other.
The doctrine of Scripture is foundational to the Christian faith. But there is more to say about Scripture than simply, “The Bible says it.” I believe it. That settles it.” If you don’t grasp what the Bible is and how it came to be, you’ll never fully grasp its meaning. Since the meaning of the Bible is vitally important to our faith and life. God has spoken and God speaks. God has spoken and continues to speak through the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. The questions that I ask myself on a daily basis is, how well do I know what the Bible tells us about the Bible? Could I go into a room with complete confidence and speak the truth to many different people? That is why it is always important for me to be prepared.
Restoration According to the Christian worldview the solution to humanity's problems lies in salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Christian salvation is made up of equal parts grace and faith. People must place their faith for salvation in Christ. They must confess that they are a sinner unworthy of entry into heaven and in need of a savoir.
I am clear that God has call me to Christian discipleship, as I began the journey
What is Christianity all about? What are the basic beliefs of Christianity and how did it begin? According to (AllAboutReligion, 2010),” Christianity began about 2000 years ago in Judea, [presently known today as Israel] with Jesus Christ and His faithful group of disciples”. This paper will address the viewpoint of the Christian faith and its outcome. The central message of Christianity is based upon the teachings of Jesus and his promises. Christianity teaches that there is merely one God in all existence and that God created the universe. It also teaches that Jesus is the only way to be set free from the coming judgment of God and that Jesus desires his values and his standards to abound. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that offers a savior. Religion has been in every culture since the beginning of human society and there are many religions competing for the heart of humanity throughout the world at large.The following characterizations are based on the Christian faith: redemption, covenant and grace. Although Christianity is a matter of choice for the human race, what type of influence did it have on the China, Africa, and Rome inhabitants?
I think that Carl Medearis says it perfectly in Speaking of Jesus on how Christianity and Jesus are not the same thing. Being a Christian is supposed to be having a genuine relationship with God not a religion with rules, and Christinity to many times has become something it is not. We tend to miss the point of what it truly means to be a Christian. We push our ideas and views on others trying to bring them to Christ but more often we push them away. He says "Rules and regulations began replacing the living daily relationship with the spirit of God." We care more about our oppinions and what we want to believe is true, that we don't take time to understand God and have that real relationship. We all want to be part of the Kingdom of God, and
Throughout the Seventeenth and Eighteenth century, the strengthening of the New World colonies in British North America and Barbados by the British Empire was a result of the usage of slavery to jumpstart the New World colonies economy and grow their own. The reason that slavery was appealing towards the British and the settlers was due to the strenuous labour and long hours necessary to grow cash crops on plantations. It takes time and effort to grow these crops, and the main crops we will be focusing on are sugar, tobacco, and rice. Since running a plantation is costly and a lengthy process, settlers and the elite in Britain attempted to achieve maximum profits with no form of payment to the workers. By importing slaves into the colonies;
For any Christian, one of the most important questions a person can ever answer is, “How does a Believer know that they are for sure a Christian?” All Believers needs to have the assurance of their salvation. Finding the answer to this question brings confidence and contentment to the Believer’s life. Sadly, many people live their lives never really having an answer to this question. However, the Word of God is the starting point to find this assurance.
The Purpose of Life The objective of our life here on Earth is to serve Christ in all we do. Striving for Christian Scholarship can certainly be challenging. Trusting in the Lord to lead me on the path he has paved for my life causes uneasiness at times. I live a life of desiring control, and it is crucial I am able to give up this control and trust in the Lord fully to strive further towards Christian scholarship.
