The Purpose of Life
The objective of our life here on Earth is to serve Christ in all we do. Striving for Christian Scholarship can certainly be challenging. Trusting in the Lord to lead me on the path he has paved for my life causes uneasiness at times. I live a life of desiring control, and it is crucial I am able to give up this control and trust in the Lord fully to strive further towards Christian scholarship. Growing up in a public school striving for perfection has deeply inspired me towards living a life of Christian Scholarship. As a student of Sartell High School, I am consistently being challenged to reach excellence. The teachers at my high school push every single one of us to reach our greatest potential. Perfection is unapproachable;

Sabre Splash is on the first day of high school. The goal of Sabre Splash is to assist incoming freshmen in becoming comfortable in the high school. As a mentor, I gave the freshmen a tour of the high school to find their classes and then we are able to play games to get to know each other. My experience as a mentor for Sabre Splash solidified my unfailing desire to live a life devoted to benefiting the lives of others. The primary way for an individual’s life to be exceptional is to know Jesus. I share the love of Jesus through trying my hardest to have every action sprouted from pure graciousness, especially during turmoil. I hope these actions cause people to question where the graciousness comes from, which is ultimately …show more content…
I often ponder with how I am assumedly incapable of finding this time for God, when He is the one who gives me time. I find peace in knowing He is with me through everything I do. He is the one who gives me the strength to persist. The best decision I made was to start a reading plan on My Bible app. This plan keeps me committed to devoting time daily for focusing fully on God. Digging into God’s word on a daily basis strengthens my faith in Christ. My daily-renewed strength in Christ fills me with knowledge, and ultimately knowledge is power. When friends ponder with Christ’s attributes and come to me, the Holy Spirit gives them the answer they need to hear through me. Another practice I use to meet with Christ in my busiest of days is listening to my favorite Christian songs while I drive. I find worshipping my savior daily grants me a peace I’m unable to find anywhere
goal in life is to seek, in pursuit of happiness and truth, and hold on to that of what you
I can learn more about him through the scripture, to feel his power and presence and to witness his miracles. These learning styles not only help me in my spiritual life, but also in my scholastic education.
Fifth grade will go down in history as my worst year in school, but definitely the most beneficial. From sixth grade on, I receive nearly all A’s in my course. The occasional high B haunted me on rare occasions, but for the most part I worked to the best of my ability to achieve my goals. Throughout the years after middle school I began to realize that school was not what defined me. I had leaned so heavily on the praise I received from getting A’s that I began to think it was my doing and not the Lord’s. As a follower of Christ, I find that I cannot succeed in what God wants me to without utilizing the strength He has given me. When I do decide to walk a different path, I am constantly reminded of the incredibly weak and depressing sinner I am without Christ. While Mrs. Sera is the one who pushed me to want to reach my full academic potential, Christ is the One I utilize in achieving this. Of course there are days where I am tired, busy, and just plain lazy, but my God is stronger, more attentive, and more active than I will ever be. With a passion to become a fully-devoted Spirit-empowered Christ follower, I know that Christ can and will achieve the academic success He desires for
First, I have a daily centering prayer practice, where I sit for 15 to 20 minutes in the morning in silence with the intention of opening to the presence of God and his action within. I find that this practice gives me an opportunity to center my attention on becoming receptive to God and has created in me an appreciation for prayer in which I say nothing and rely on Grace to be the catalyst for my experience and transformation, not my doing or saying the right thing. I also like to follow the liturgical season and participate in the experience of the journey of Jesus. Even though giving up something like TV for lent may not be on par with the suffering and temptation of Jesus, it does give each of us an opportunity to short circuit our devices of comfort and distraction and feel the pull of temptation. So, for each season I try to interact with its appropriate aim. Lectio Divina, is another way that I am exploring the scriptures and allowing for God to communicate with me in a new way. Reading a verse or passage, then letting go of trying to interact with the reading, but instead allowing it to wash over me and reveal a word, phrase, or experience and then repeating it a few times really allows the Bible to communicate with me new truths each time I read. Finally, I try to be a good neighbor. I am afraid that I have a long way to go in regard to being a good friend or a good
...hat share my faith and together worship Jesus. I believe that by being in fellowship with other believers I will have a strong opportunity to pursue and fulfill God’s purpose in my life, whether it is a daily or lifetime calling.
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
According to the Online Entomology Dictionary, the word Bless is derived from the “Old English bletsian, bledsian, Northumbrian bloedsian "to consecrate, make holy, give thanks," from Proto-Germanic *blodison "hallow with blood, mark with blood," from *blotham "blood"…. Originally a blood sprinkling on pagan altars.” The word Blessed is noted to have come into common use in the 12th century, meaning to be “supremely happy” or “consecrated”. Used interchangeably with the word blest, blessed is used in describing something that is holy, revered, or worthy of worship.
The Christian realist understands that evil exists as a result of man’s brokenness- each individual by nature is sinful and self-centered. If this is left unchecked, this brokenness will eventually resort to extreme behavior to secure their desire. This is the permanent struggle and the establishment of laws is to provide order in society by curtailing this selfish and detrimental behavior. In an approach to immigration, the Christian realist accepts the laws of the state as the best way to curtail this brokenness in man and uses this to justify a position of not supporting an open border. The regulation of the border is a way of providing man with the guidance which is needed to curtail his desire for self-centered goals. The need of the greater whole is what supersedes when faced with the choice between a nation’s stability and helping the stranger. Even Jesus’ vision of heaven is called ‘upside-down kingdom’ because how different it is from the way of man. Thus, the regulation of states in all issues, including immigration policy is important as left to the individual
In the fellowship between believers, we are able to give and receive help. Paul also says that “we [should]…warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak” (NLT, 1 Thessalonians. 5.14). When our faiths get shaken and we struggle with sin problems, brothers in Christ can remind us of the truth and correct us to right path.
What comes to mind when I first hear or see the words, Blessed Be, is that the person stating them wishes blessings on someone or for another person to be blessed. The word blessed comes from the 12th century. It’s basic meaning is: supremely happy, delightful, holy, or consecrated. It’s root word bless comes from Old English bletsian, bledsian, and Northumbrian bloedsian which means to consecrate by a religious rite or word, make holy, or give thanks.
Through the faith I have in Christ Jesus I know that I can depend on him for any situation he puts me in because I know that everything he is putting me through is for a reason. Having a faith with God is such a strong connection because I am trusting someone that I can not see. My fellow Christians also do the same thing and spread God's word using our faith that we have in
I have been a Christian for 27 years and I am so thankful to Christ for his salvation and forgiveness. I know that reading and meditating on God’s word is a vital component to spirituality, and I am currently reading through the book of Joshua, prayerfully asking God to apply His word to my day to day life and show me where I need to change, and to empower me with His Spirit to live courageously and victoriously. Marne, my heart is very sensitive toward the things of God, and I have a burning fire within to “live for him” and to “live like him” in this world. Additionally, prayer is very important to me, and I pray regularly for my loved one’s, guidance, wisdom, a humble heart, forgiveness and so many other things, while I rejoice in my heart
After moving to Bismarck from India, in time of distress I found solace by visiting the church with my neighbor who was kind enough to let me go with her. My aim then was to pray and be able to connect to god and find peace. For me what matters most is that I am close to god, what matters most is that I should connect to god and be able to reach him.
Many people go through much of their lives without really thinking about their purpose. I don't mean a lofty, philosophic, and often unrealistic purpose that has us striving to save the world or solve the challenge of poverty throughout the world (although these are both admirable for those whose true purpose is to do so). What I am talking about is the individual and unique purpose that drives and grounds us. The one thing that gives meaning to our lives and motivates us to achieve our potential.
Everyone has a purpose and a calling in life, and it is our duty to find what that
