My grandparents had set this whole trip up and had originally planned on joining us on this vacation. Sadly, my grandmother got diagnosed with cancer a few months before we were going. She wouldn’t be able to stay with us for a week and risk anything happening. My grandmother gave me one of those I-hope-you-have-a-good-time-but-I-wish-I-was-going-with-you looks. Even though they couldn’t be with us right on the beach, we decided to bring some of it with us! We took plastic bags to the beach one day and put sand and shells in them to take back to my grandparents. Of course, many other souvenirs were bought for them as well, including a can of sun from the Shell Factory which was a really bright idea! I really wish they would’ve come to experience everything my family had done, but we are hoping once she gets better and cancer-free, we are going to go back with
Grandma lacked affection when she was a child, and so her way of showing her affection might be illogical to some, but makes perfect sense to her. Grandma lived through the Great Depression, so she had to go through witnessing her dad losing his job and becoming a fireman, a job that requires you to shovel in coal into the furnace. There was an accident at the job and Grandma’s dad got injured in the face horribly. Grandma’s dad ran away but Grandma found him by chance and when he was questioned why he never came home he responded with, “I was afraid you wouldn’t

Everyone loves him, he’s always smiling, has a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He’s still very small for his age almost tipping the scale at 65lbs. His health is very good and rarely gets sick. His asthma is mostly under control, but he still has flare ups with the changing of the seasons. He still hates the winters here and gets cold very easy. His favorite place to eat is still McDonalds and chicken nuggets is the only meat he will eat. I could go on and on about him but need to save some of it for when you
The last trip before he passed away my grandfather took me and my sister to visit the country club he was member of for over ten years. At the club my grandfather as well as my father were greeted with warm smiles by many. This kind greeting made me swell with pride that my grandfather was such a respectable member.he was a well liked man by not only his family, and colleagues but by his community as well. Additionally, he always made it his priority to set aside time for family. In his later years he found very cheap tickets to come to Los Angeles, he dropped everything, work and responsibilities and grabbed the opportunity to come visit his beloved grandchildren. Till this day that memory is etched in my heart that my grandfather was willing to put on hold all of his responsibilities to see his grandchildren. He also suffered multiple illness yet these painful disabilities did not deter him his entire life was a constant battle and my gradfather was a true fighter. My grandfather was a children of survivors who had escaped Siberia and to him family was always a priority. He taught me that when life gets tough friends may leave but family stays together. One of the last parting messages my grandfather told me was”Rivka, you should knew that I love you and I am so proud of the young woman you have become.I want you to knew and to never forget that your family will always be there for you and love you. They are there for you and will always support you, never take your parents nor your siblings for

As children grow up they always look up to someone special in their life, someone that they can trust and is always there for them. This person is someone they admire and hope to be like someday. The person that I’ve described best fits my Grandma. She knows all the right things and is there whenever I need her. My grandma is one of the most important people in my life and I’m so happy that I have her.
My grandmum spoke for us all that Christmas when she opened her gift from my aunt and uncle. She only half-unwrapped the box before launching it at my father across the room, crabbing “Now what in the hell am I supposed to do with THIS?” She proceeded to sulk, the way only my eighty-year-old gram can, arms crossed, lips pursed, but laughing the whole time despite herself.
Frosty the Snowman waves hello alongside Santa 's reindeer that are ready to take off. Candy canes line the sidewalk and the ginger bread dolls dance in a merry circle. The trees all sparkle with thousands of red, yellow, purple, blue, and orange lights. Out back, Mary and Joseph stand over baby Jesus, Choo-Choo train’s chug in spot, stars twinkle with bright yellow bulbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause wave in the distance. Kerkhoven, MN, the location of the happiest house on the block. Every year my breath is always taken away as my eyes struggle to soak in the utter abundance of Christmas spirit. I 'm smiling and we 're not even inside yet.

I have a lot of cousins; therefore I am not the only grandchild for my grandparents. However, I was the only one that was raised by my grandparents. They spent the most of their times on me compared to my other cousins. For example, I slept with my grandma when I was young. Because of my body was weak, and my hands and feet usually cool all night, my grandma always held my hands and feet to make my body warm. She was told me fairy-tales or real stories at night when I was sick, because she wanted me to feel better. When I was little girl, on the family trip, grandpa always carried me, because he didn’t want me to walk too long. Living without the parent, it made me sad but my grandparents given too much love on

Ever since I could remember, I have spent Christmas at my grandmother’s house, a house which is full of comfort, warmth, and happiness. At Christmas, I have always been able to escape the cold and dark real world allowing myself to truly enjoy just several moments in time. It is a time for my family to get together, share stories, laugh, and even cry.
My grandmother has always been my biggest supporter throughout my life. My Grandmother is my back bone; she is the reason why I am the person that I am today. Most people hear the word grandmother and expect to see older lady with possible white hair, standing in the kitchen cooking and baking, evening sewing. My grandmother is the exact opposite of those things, she is still employed full time, enjoys making jewelry and furniture. Although she is only five two she is very witted and outspoken she never bites her tongue and will always give her opinion even if you don’t ask for it. There is a softer side to her, she will give you her last and be a listening ear day or night. Like the saying goes “to know me is to love me” and believe me
