We hope this long over due letter, finds you doing well. It’s been a few years since we last saw each other. So to recap...we are the Rauk’s from Minnesota and about 10 years ago, we adopted your “Little Peanut,” Dewell. Over the years we attempted to update you about Dew, but never followed through. I felt the letters had to be well written, thought out and perfect...so they never got written. This is not a well written thougt out letter but it will be in the mail today! Ryan and I made a promise to Dewell, MANY years ago that we would take him to meet you. He’s always asking questions about you and still have your picture by his bed. Dew is very presistant and reminds us of our commitment about every month or two. Dew turned 13 years old this past September which made us realize...we are running out of time to keep our word. Where has the time gone? This year for Christmas we would like to surprise Dewell with his trip to Texas. Things for some reason are falling into place on our end. The time of year that works best for us would be the week of Christmas. Ryan hardly gets a whole week off at the fire station let alone during Christmas. We realize that the timing on your end might not be as perfect as it is for us and understand if it won’t work at this time. We do not want to impose on any of your holiday plans, but thought we would ask …show more content…
Everyone loves him, he’s always smiling, has a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He’s still very small for his age almost tipping the scale at 65lbs. His health is very good and rarely gets sick. His asthma is mostly under control, but he still has flare ups with the changing of the seasons. He still hates the winters here and gets cold very easy. His favorite place to eat is still McDonalds and chicken nuggets is the only meat he will eat. I could go on and on about him but need to save some of it for when you
Dally you should not even think about killing yourself it will not solve anything and will only make thing worse for everybody who cares about you. I know that you will not believe this and think that the world is horrible and is not worth living in but I promise you that there is still good in the world. I know that you will say that there is not and that I am naive, but I was not the only one to see this even Johnny saw it as he was dieing. He wanted me to try to point this out to you but I knew that you would need more than just me and Johnny's persuasion so I got word from all of the gang and some idea of how to make things better.
really enjoys taking his kids to the park and movies. He loves to watch funny TV shows because
From your family has dealt with your grandpa getting remarried and how your family reacted to it, and also some of your things regarding Lightfoot McLendon. I am writing you today because I believe I have some advice to help you through some of these confusing things. I can give you advice about how to face some of these issues and just feel much better with life. Starting with your grandpa getting remarried.
Wisps of burnt-out curtains drape over shattered window frames, fluttering helplessly like a bird with injured wings. Pieces of wood collapse snapping once they hit the ground. Smoke swirls around in the wind. No sound can be heard except for the occasional sobs escaping the chapped lips of people visiting what is left of their homes. The once busy city of Amsterdam is now nothing but a city of forgotten souls. In 1942, the Franks and the Van Daans moved into a warehouse located in Amsterdam to escape the perilous world outside, where the Holocaust was taking place. Jews like the Franks and the Van Daans had their rights taken away from them. The Gestapo, the police working for the Nazis, rounded up people to be sent to concentration camps, where people worked to death. Margot Frank was one of them. Many Jews had to leave the country to escape, while the two families, and later on a man named Dussel, lived on the top floor of the warehouse called the Secret Annex. Living in such a small space and having sparse food with so many people was not easy. On weekdays, not a noise was to be made otherwise the workmen below would hear them. Food and other items had to be brought in by Miep and Mr. Kraler, who risked their lives to help the members of the Secret Annex. To keep herself company, Anne Frank wrote in her diary almost every day. Later on, her diary was published, and two authors decided that they would write a play based on the published diary, named The Diary of Anne Frank. Goodrich and Hackett created memorable characters in their play. Among these people, Otto Frank stood out, who emerged as a good leader because he put himself before others, made rough decisions when problems rose, and stayed positive and optimistic even dur...
Creon, you must allow me to bury my brother, Polyneices. I am obligated to bury him as it is my responsibility as his sister. Additionally, refusing a person a proper burial is immoral and against the will of the gods and of your people. Polyneices should be given a proper funeral as familial and social obligations permit his burial and because it will win you the respects of the gods and your people.
E: Mary, Queen of Scots, has been found guilty of plotting to usurp Her Majesty the Queen and has been sentenced to death. … I suppose it was only a matter of time. In all the nineteen years she’s been imprisoned, she never once relented on the opinion that she should be Queen. I had hoped she wouldn’t have stooped as low as to actually attempt to overthrow me though. What did she think would happen were she to ascend the throne anyhow? That the public would welcome her with open arms? They have not forgotten the bloody persecution she wielded against them. The Catholic Church may prefer her as ruler, but my Church would not stand for her injustice. … Even though she desires to see me disposed, I do not wish her dead. Despite our differences
Since the night Lamar almost passed I have thought about writing to your family every day to express how sorry I am about the pain Lamar and your family have endured since the night of his overdose.
A Comparison of Persuasive Techniques in 'To His Coy Mistress' and 'An Answer To A Love Letter'
The purpose of a persuasive text is to change or alter the viewpoint of the reader for it to agree with the author’s perspective. The intention of this specific text is to persuade the reader to help end poverty today by joining ‘Make Poverty History’ and it uses persuasive language and techniques to do this – this essay will explain the effect on the reader and will focus on analysing persuasive language.
Persuasion is the force exerted to influence behavior that includes a reflected change in attitude. Everyday we are bombarded with messagesfrom people who wish to influence our behavior and attitudes. Persuasion canbe used to accomplish good as well as bad, though, in my paper I willrefrain from making value judgements and only report the factual aspects. I will discuss the two basic routes to persuasion, the elements involved, andways to protect current attitudes and behaviors from change. When trying to persuade someone, there are two different methods from which to choose-the central and peripheral routes. The central route persuades by usingdirect arguments and pertinent information. The peripheral route persuadespeople by association with incidental cues
During the past few days, many of our friends and family have come to our home to show their love for us and for Arlyn. I have been especially moved by the fact so many of her teachers and principals have shown up and cried with us. I am also touched by the love her young friends had for her. Our memories of this sad time in our lives will therefore not all be bad.
Good afternoon, let me just start by saying that the kindness, support, friendship, and love extended to me and my family during this difficult time has really touched my heart- we are sincerely appreciative!
