From the past, I realized that I have changed in many ways. However, somethings I have ignored and refused to change. As time passes by, I have pondered over how my personality has changed towards the way I feel about friends and other people. Over much thought and refection, I now understand.I have lived in with many different people and environments. I dealt with many different personalities, relationships, and backgrounds. These situations and experiences have taught me to them keep personal issues to yourself. The ability of getting along with people in short time might seem easy but real trust takes time. I am also very generous and kind hearted when it comes to offering help to those in need. I would buy others gifts and give money to those who is in need . One of traits that has not changed and I strongly believe it is the one gift I use every time to open people
To humans, life appears to be a dynamic, unpredictable environment to which diversity they react and behave in a certain particular way best suiting to their respective preferences introducing the notion of personality; Psychologists, over time, after various studies, have come along with a series of standardized characteristics that tend to be the mostly manifested while examining personalities and finally came up with the popularly known as The Big Five Theory. On this paper I will get into a description of myself according this theory’s 5 aspects which are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion, agreeableness and Neuroticism;
Over time, some aspects of personality change, whereas others remain stable. For example, according to Costa and McCrae's study on adult personality, in early adulthood, neuroticism decreases, openness to experience increases, and in middle adulthood agreeableness increases. However, it is important that an individual’s personality remains relatively stable over the lifespan because we expect that our traits and characteristics remain relatively stable during our lifespan. The results of the studies on adult personality indicate stability changes in adult personality.
In today’s culture psychologist, sociologist, and scientist investigate several types of personalities. Personality is the pattern of behavior, though process, emotions, and reactions to the people that surround us on daily basis. Several test have been developed for testing personalities. Some test can be simple and short while others lengthy and complicated. Scholars demonstrated knowledge about personalities looking back many thousands of years. The Greeks published a well documented history in profiling people according to personality traits. Two interesting character personalities are conformist type personality and manipulative type personality.
In conclusion, personality is a term that refers to the many patterns of similarities and patterns of differences among individuals. There are various ways with psychologists have examined individual differences in personality including the use of genetics. Through this method, psychologists have mainly examined biological underpinnings that contribute to individual differences in personality. While these measures provide some insights regarding personality, individual differences in personality cannot be adequately explained with reference to genes because of the weaknesses of these theories and the effect of environmental factors.
The book has interesting myths on personality disorder where the author explains personality traits. It deters that enduring patterns of perceiving are related to thinking about the environment and oneself. The expression is reflected upon a wide range of crucial social and personal context. We can determine the consciousness of an individual through inflexible personal traits and maladaptive, the latter causes either significant functional destruction or subjective agony which comprises personality disorders.

A Comparison of the Main Approaches to Personality Psychology Psychology of personality is a difficult concept to define and quantify, therefore most personality theories, however different they may be in other respects, share the basic assumption, that personality is a particular pattern of behaviour and thinking, that prevails across time and situations and differentiates one person from another. Most theories attempting to explain personality represent part of the classic psychological Nature verse Nurture debate. In other words, is personality “inherited”, or developed through our interactions with the environment. In addition, we shall compare and contrast two of the main approaches to personality psychology by concentrating on Psychoanalytical Theory (Freud) and Social Learning Theory (Bandura). By looking at the Psychodynamic approach, developed by Freud, we can argue that it emphasizes the interplay of unconscious psychological processes in determining human thought, feelings, and behaviours.
When studying human personality, psychologists may consider different levels of analysis. Personality can be viewed as characteristics typical of human nature and that we are “like all others” (Kluckhohn & Murray, 1953), as humans share the same basic biological components, experiences of development and social interactions. Alternatively, personality can be analysed in terms of individual and group differences, where we are “like some other[s]” (Kluckhohn & Murray, 1953). This approach considers that groups of individuals possess common characteristics, but that characteristics vary between individuals. For example, men are generally more aggressive than women, but one man may be more aggressive in comparison to another man. This level of analysis takes a nomothetic view on personality. Some theorists however may be more interested in individual uniqueness and take an idiographic approach to studying personality.

I also hope to discover the various transitions of my personality starting from infancy to present and the reason or motives behind such changes. Before taking this test, I began to think every open-minded about this five factor personality assessment. During this assessment, I realized that I was asked too little of information for this assessment to determine my exact personality. After, I received this screen telling my personality. There were five main factors and I was also told a score for all five factors. The factors were extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness.
When we are born, over time we grow up and develop a personality. For each person, our personalities differentiate between one another which presents a wide variety of individuals. According to psychology, there are different factors that make up who we are. Today, I will be talking about the four major theories of personality (Psychodynamic, five-factor model, humanistic, and social-cognitive).
Personality is the study of an individual’s unique and relatively stable patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving over time and across situations and it is what distinguishes one individual from another. In the past changes in personality were thought to have only occurred in the developmental stages of childhood and solidifies in adolescence. After the teenage years it was thought to be set like plaster or the change seen to be inconsequential or absent( Srivastava, John, Gosling, and Potter, 2003). However, recent studies have suggested that changes in personality traits continue to occur throughout an individual’s lifespan due to multiple reasons.
The continuity theory according to theorist proposes that a person’s adaptations to young and middle age will predict the person’s pattern of adaptation to old age (Hillier & Barrow, 2015). With continuity theory the adjustments made throughout life do not depend on activities or the disengage theory, but on the changes in personality (Hillier & Barrow, 2015). Personality may not change once a person reaches middle age and may be set up through their older years. A life review is a review of events and changes that happened in the person’s life and within continuity theory there are other theories that are considered including the trait theory. The trait theory states that lives change but fundamental personality characteristics do not, these changes are what we review in the course of writing a person’s life review (Hillier & Barrow, 2015). Traits help develop a person as they age and are normally developed through events that happen in life or how a person was raised. Personality is the expression of a person’s traits according to ones feelings, mentality and behavior. It involves understanding individuals’ traits such as withdrawal and willpower and how various parts of an individual link together to form personality. Personality expresses itself from within an individual and is comparatively regular throughout in an individual’s life. Different people have different personalities dependent on factors such as environment and genetic composition. Our personality is dependent on the success or failure of our development in the eight stages of life. This is proposed by Erik Erikson. Success in the development stages lead to virtues while the failure leads to malignancies.
