I also adopted my nephew when he was fourteen; he is now 21 years old. I will say that in similarity to Iyanla I am back in school going for my bachelors and trying to follow my passion. I had such a struggle finding out what my passion is. I started to think about all the things I’m good at: cooking , cleaning, and doing hair. All things that I love doing, but they are not my passion. Along with Iyanla I had to choose a job that provided for my family regardless of whether or not it was something that I had a passion for. Just like Iyanla when she was working at the law firm, when I choose to work for 911 making money and having benefits was more important to me. She didn’t follow her passion until three year into the job. I decided to follow my passion after I was asked in this class what my passion is. When someone is asked “What is your passion?” most tend to say things they like, not necessarily the thing or things they love and enjoy doing each and every day. Many would think that a passion must be something like cooking, cleaning, doing hair, or working on cars, etc. A passion could be anything you enjoy doing even if it is as simple as talking to people. Education is something I believe in. When it comes to school all I think of is being a future student of Old Dominion University. Ever since the 7th grade ,when I joined the avid program, I have had the dream to go to college. Teachers at Windsor Oaks Elementary school showed me how fun learning is. Plaza middle school instilled in me that knowledge is key to everything. Green Run High School is helping on my way to success. Education is not just the kind of things I do at school, but instead it is learning new things everyday. I am passionate about becoming smarter and gaining wisdom. Growing up, my parents always applauded my hard work ethic in school because they have realized the immense impact that education has. Education has allowed people to thrive more than anything else. Without
My ultimate vision is to help mothers put their lives back together after setbacks, institutions and incarcerations; to have a home they can live
As a traditional Native American saying goes, “Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those that capture the heart.” My heart was captured by pediatrics at an early age. My journey was started growing up in a small town of India with different but significant healthcare needs and limited availability of resources. During the school life, I was always attracted towards human biology. As a young student, I was very curious and used to ask many questions, and my teachers always explained every principle by scientific reasoning and rational thinking. Childhood, after all, is a time when every human begins to construct their concepts of the physical, social, mental and emotional portions of their life. In turn, these perceptions can profoundly
The Hobby that became My Passion 3…2…1…Launch! Woosh! That is the sound of a model rocket taking flight and a passion for rocketry being born. My participation in rocketry began when I received my first model rocket in grade school and since then, my appreciation for rocketry has done nothing but soar. Rocketry has benefited my education as I have participated in Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC), entered in science fairs, and mentored local rocket clubs.
I’ve always had a passion for helping others and I love the idea of being considered a dependable person. I enjoy when others come to me to talk about the hardship they are experiencing and being able to provide them with feedback or helpful advice. To do this I learned that you need to have the characteristics of a “people person”. You must be patient, which from my job experience of working in retail and the fast food industry, I would consider myself to be a highly patient person. I also posses the the skill of being outgoing and friendly. I allow myself to be comfortable when speaking with different types of people and I let myself open up so I can personally relate to them. By doing this I believe that others will return the comfort that I created and will want
When looking at what you plan to do with your life, you get excited and passionate about that one thing that you want to do for the rest of your life. You spend most of your life going to school and preparing yourself for the job that you will have, probably for the rest of your life. Many Christians look at there job and think about how they are doing this job for our God. Through my vocation I see “The Image of God” and “the fall” through the hard times and balancing my faith and science. Also, when you think about what vocation you go into you have to believe that God is placing that desire on your heart to pursue that passion for the rest of your life and ultimately being passionate about it for Jesus Christ and to worship Christ and our
All of us have at least one unique passion that we came here to express. Some of us are lucky enough to have more, but we all have a least one, and it is both our birthright and our obligation to bring it for and use it to succeed. Just how you go about doing this but you can live your passion, though? You can learn how, just as those who have struggled with the same questions before you have done. You, too, can live your passion.
Every day, many people question my passion for pursuing accounting as a profession and the first answer I think of is that I am good with numbers. However, advancing in the field has made me realize that my passion is not only based on figures. Growing up as a kid, I was privileged to have a piggy account where I would save as little as fifty cents per week. Since my parents rewarded me in monetary value as a positive reinforcement in cases of good behaviour, I was motivated to maintain good manners so long as my savings increased. As time went by, I realized I had saved way “too much” money for a little child. The challenge came in the management of the funds because I was focused on spending more on pleasurable activities. However, the guidance of my parents enabled me to prioritize on the more important things and save more. I took interest in managing may own account as a child and even pursued accounting courses in high school. The interest grew deeper because I gained more insight on the facts about accounting and the career. Also, I believed that it is career that one would be self-employed thereby avoiding the dilemmas of lacking jobs after graduating. For instance, one would easily start their own business and manage their finances comfortably.
When I was about ten years old, I knew I one day wanted to be my own boss. It seems pretty crazy to want something so powerful at such a young age. Ten years later I still have that same desire. There is no doubt I have passion for leadership. Was I just born to be successful?
I began to get fascinated by our capitalist world’s economy at a very early age of my life. Growing up, I was incredibly curious to unravel how systems function, and this curiosity developed into a burning desire to learn how processes and organizations operate and run our world. As I started my first job, I realized how much I needed to be better acquainted with the science of money making and the scientific approaches to money management. Later on in my life, being within a company system, I wanted to see the big picture by learning where such a company stands in the midst of all other business interactions locally and internationally. Being involved in the company’s practices I started analyzing the methods used by my managers, the causes and consequences of their managerial choices.
My interest in public interest law, nonprofit advocacy, and social justice began at a very young age. My passion was influenced by my upbringing, as well as my journey down a path different from what my family and culture envisioned. It is this same divergent path that has led me to me to pursue the legal profession today.
What are you passionate about? Don’t waste your talent or skill. Use them so you can earn while having fun or shall we say, doing what you love. Determination is very important in 6th grade and many events boost my determination. I feel many things contribute to having a strong determination. Mostly, I believe being motivated to have determination to do something, brings out the best in me. Some things that make me feel determined us my transition from Presidents to Patriots, having a good grade and doing social activities.
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.

Through my life experiences I have learned that there is no such thing as failure. I am certain with myself that I can find success through hard work and dedication. My career aspiration is to help others as a healthcare professional. More specifically, I have a dream of pursuing a career in physical therapy. Nothing gives me more self-satisfaction than to see that I am able to help people self-improve. Therefore, I have committed to studying and preparing myself for graduate school. I am currently an Undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, destined to graduate in the Fall of 2017. There are multiple Undergraduate degree paths I can take to prepare myself for grad-school; however, I chose a path that can help me develop skills to provide the best possible service for my future patients.
