What is called truth must contain its own meaning and is worthwhile to exist. Painful or dangerous truth can be distinguished into two types: one of them is those truth judged by the society which contain bad or passive meanings itself while another kind of truth doesn’t define to be negative but may cause pain or danger when people heard others revealing about it. As for teachers, their responsibility is not only teaching students the basic academic knowledge from books, but also need to pay attention to their mental and psychological development and try to build up a healthy and harmonious environment for students to grow up. However, we cannot avoid danger and difficulties along the way when children growing to maturity. Aiming at finding the best way for children to grow up, many people start to question about the things teachers should teach and doubt whether teachers should reveal some painful truth or not. In my opinion, I encourage teachers to tell the objective truth contain bad meanings and explain to students what is right or wrong, this will provide opportunities for students to get in touch with the diverse and complicate society earlier. Focus on the long term growth, besides the academic knowledge, mental development and social skills are also important in students’ life. However, for the truth can be judged subjectively, it is not necessary to tell students those truth too early because it may cause negative effects. Students will understand them individually when they get their own experiences. Above all, it is significant to highlight that the aim of revealing truth to students is help them to understand the world and reality better, so what teachers are going to do should focus on how to minimise the negative influences and bring as many benefits as possible to every student’s
Wilbur shows a good effort made to protect a child from fears because the fears are irrational. On the contrary, Collins juxtaposes a history teacher’s efforts to protect his students from historical truths and their ensuing behavior to show that the time he spends misguiding his students could be better spent teaching children to mature. Wilbur and Collins both demonstrate approaches to calming children; however the approaches differ in terms of protecting the children verses outright lying to them. Theses passages attempt to answer the controversial question of whether it is better to shelter children or expose them to the harsh realities of the world.
We as educators must always act in the best interests of the children, while we seek to understand and embrace the different cultures by talking, listening and learning from the families and communities that surround us.

With regards to your first paragraph, you are right on point. Excellent perception. Understanding in life there are always three sides of every story, it is impossible to keep everyone happy even when the result appears to be positive. Think about when planning a wedding and how exciting a wedding is and how this time in a couple's life ends up causing so many problems, heartaches, and many times destroys not only friendships, families, but also results in the marriage never taking place after all is said and done. The point I bring to the table about being a liar for educational purposes is from experience I know students are concerned with offending each other so instead of voicing their opinions openly they simply agree with everything their classmate's write. This procedure serves absolutely no valuable educational purpose if everyone agrees with each other even when they disagree with what they wrote. This is why I openly offer your classmates and you to write whatever you want about me. I will not get offended and I actually encourage you to DISAGREE with anything and everything I write, but I ask that you defend you position with facts. And if you choose not to disagree with me - I WILL DISAGREE WITH YOU! Understand, there is nothing you can write that will actually offend me, but I do ask that you not purposefully offend your classmates. (In class I openly say things to the students so they know I'm okay with being challenged verbally and while I cannot illustrate that to your class and you on a discussion board, accept that it is acceptable.)
Education is a very important aspect of our lives. It is our education that makes us who we are and determines what we become. Therefore, education is not something to be taken lightly. As a teacher, my goal will be to provide the best possible education for my students. Every student is unique. I must see students for who they are individually and respect their ideas and opinions. Each student has a different learning style. I must take this into consideration because I want to provide a constructive learning opportunity for every student. Truth can be defined as conformity to reality or actuality and in order for something to be “true” it must be public, eternal, and independent. If the “truth” does not follow these guidelines then it cannot be “true.” Obviously in contrary anything that goes against the boundaries of “truth” is inevitably false. True and false, in many cases does not seem to be a simple black and white situation, there could sometimes be no grounds to decide what is true and what is false. All truths are a matter of opinion. Truth is relative to culture, historical era, language, and society. All the truths that we know are subjective truths (i.e. mind-dependent truths) and there is nothing more to truth than what we are willing to assert as true (Hammerton, Matthew). A thing to me can be true while for the other person it may not be true. So it depends from person to person and here the role of perception comes into play. As truth is a vital part of our knowledge, the distinctions between what is true and what is false, shape and form the way we think and should therefore be considered of utmost importance. We often face this situation in real life through our learning curves and our pursuit of knowledge to distinguish between what is true and what is false. The idea of there being an absolute truth or also known as universal truth has been debated for centuries. It depends on many factors such as reason, perception and emotion.

The overall essence of education or knowledge acquisition is reflected in an axiom by Confucius which says “Tell me, and I will forget; show me, and I will remember; but involve me, and I will understand. Back then, it was clear that learning was a comprehensive process which involves passionate exchanges between students and their teachers; unfortunately this is not the case in most modern classrooms. Instead of the expected bidirectional communication between learners and teachers, in the modern learning environment there is a unidirectional system which involves the teacher incessantly hurling facts at students who, due to their passive roles as mere receptacles, have fallen asleep or; in the case of “best” students are mindlessly taking notes. This leads to a situation where knowledge has neither been conferred nor acquired.
Being a teacher is an enormous responsibility. We as teachers can either be carriers of positive or negative behaviour towards learners. A good teacher is someone who guides students rather than someone who is a totalitarian in the classroom. We as teachers should also create a warm and protective environment where learners feel free to realise their full potential. Sometimes the teacher’s caring attitudes could have a positive influence on the learners. Their self-esteem can be lifted because it could create ambitions in their minds for future academic success. Learning initially begins with one's attitude toward themselves, others, and the world we live in.
