Being apart of a team is one thing I can say I love. I have always loved to get creative, taking pictures, and writing; being apart of this team just seemed like the perfect fit. It has always been amazing to see how creative the yearbooks get, and to get to experience the creativity would be spectacular. Also, the yearbook is something everyone gets to see, which opens an opportunity to be involved in a major part of school. I may not have a lot of experience with being apart of an actual yearbook staff, but that leads to more opportunities and new experiences. Being apart of yearbook could help me grow as a person while having fun. I hope to improve my organization, team skills, as well as improving my writing. Yearbook involves all the
When I found out that I was one of the captains of the Varsity Sideline team, I had a beaming smile and felt satisfied with my achievement. As captain, cheerleaders on the varsity and the JV squads come to me with questions and small issues, and I enjoy the opportunity to help them. I have become even more organized and mature because the coach looks to me for help. Being selected as lead captain has had many rewards, it gave me a boost of confidence and inspired me to campaign for other leadership
The idea of being on yearbook staff was very exciting to me when I was in seventh grade. I always knew that I would be a staffer. I applied to be on the yearbook staff in eighth grade, but my application got denied and I was in shock. Right then and there I wanted to give up, but I did not. I knew that if I didn't try to get on the high school yearbook staff, I would complete regret it. I decided to apply for a position my freshmen year and I was so overjoyed
In my junior year of high school, I joined the leadership program called ASB, also known as associated student body. I had the honor and role of being the school’s unofficial videographer to promote events with videos and short films posted on our social media sites because of my passion for video editing and artistic abilities. I also became responsible as being chairman for one of our committees to organize special recognition events for our senior athletes. ASB made my work stressful and challenging, but it was a good way to connect with others.
I would be a good addition to the STEM Academy cheer team because I love my school, I love my people, and I have previous cheer experience. I face problems head on and I don't get discouraged when I don't win. I am happy just knowing that I tried my hardest. By being positive, others will pick up on your attitude. I think that is what being a cheerleader is all
Despite not being a part of over 20 different organizations, as some claim to be, being a part of a smaller number of groups has allowed me to focus on developing my leadership skills more thoroughly than I could otherwise. Not spreading myself too thin has made me much more committed and involved in the organizations that I am a part of, making my influences so much stronger. I firmly believe that I am trying my absolute best not only in school, but in leaving my comfort zone and being an active member in our community. I am honored that I have been considered for such a prestigious invitation as
People say high school is supposed to be the golden years of your life. I don’t know what else in life is to come; however, my philosophy is to live in the moment and make the life you’re living in the present worthwhile into the future, not only for you but for those who surround you. I live my life participating in our community and getting involved in our school. The activities, and the people I’ve formed relationships with, are what have formed me into the person I have become today. The person I am today is not perfect, but I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made. I think the sense of maturity I have developed throughout my life has given me the determination to be the best person I can be. That being said, I would love to be inducted into the National Honor Society and not only represent our school, but represent our generation to the community not as a “selfie” generation but as a generation, with great potential.
.... This gives me motivation to do well in school and take opportunities like this so that one day I'll be able to pay back all he and my mom have done for me. Another reason is this will be fantastic for my future. Being in this would be very good for getting into an illustrious high school and that leads to a great college. Although I am not sure what I will be when I grow up, I know that whatever I am, I will put the things I know now and the things I have yet to towards it and will help the world in someway. The final reason I want to be in this group is for the experience. Being a part of this would make me a part of something prestigious and just the thought of that makes me happy.
It all started when I first joined the squad in 7th grade. I did it because it was something that I really enjoyed because it was energetic, fun, and I never had to pay to get into any football or basketball game! Although we weren’t the crazy awesome at the time, we still had a great time doing it and I never had any regrets, but I didn’t think I would
It gave me memories, opportunities, my best friends, and the best group of seventy or more people I could have ever hoped for. Without band I would not have gone on to any of the leadership positions I acquired, would not have met my best friends from my hometown or at college, and I would not have accomplished nearly as much as I have. It gave me confidence, respect, and discipline, qualities I am very grateful to have. Above all else, it gave me music. The ability to play an instrument is something I will never lose, and a talent which allows me to express my emotions and thoughts in a less forthright manner. I firmly believe that the marching band is the soundtrack to every student’s high school career, whether they are in band or not. Because with every football game, pep rally, and national anthem they hear, a family of band nerds sat in a room for hours each week perfecting it. No high school experience is complete without the band marching on at half time, or crowds of people cheering along to the fight song or alma mater. Marching band is the kind of activity that changes you in ways you do not realize until much later when you look back on the experience. Even if you were not involved in the band- it still affects you somehow. Because it is more than music and awkward
I want to be in ASB because I think that this is a great opportunity for me to practice my leadership skills to help all students at Medea Creek. I enjoy helping people and working with others and I know that ASB is a wonderful chance for me to do so. I know that our school should have voices that help others who cannot speak up for themselves and I will help them raise their voices in school. I want to be part of ASB because I think that this can help me mature, and also help achieve my goal for life, which is becoming the president of the U.S. I believe that ASB is a unique opportunity to help me become a game-changer in our school and community. ASB students make changes in their community every day. I think that that is an amazing thing, getting to impact your community every single day.
I’m in NHS at the high school. It’s a National Honor Society, so it’s basically a club where you go on to do community service and you have to have high academic achievements to be in the club. I’m also in FFA of the Blythe Chapter. I am the treasurer and I’m also in ASB (Associated Student Body).
The Yearbook Committee follows five very different students as they come together to complete the yearbook for the end of year 12. This book is full of friendships, breakdowns, romance, family and everything else. It is such an intense book, that I could not put it down.
This season was only the second year that I had been in marching band, even though we did do parades in middle school. The year before, I was selected to be drum major of the upcoming marching season. I was excited to meet the challenge of getting back to the state championships. It was also nerve-racking because I felt if we didn't make it to state, it would be my fault. To be truthful, later on I experienced both sentiments from some of the most influential, heart-warming, absolutely awesome friends that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. This would be the year that our band would adopt its slogan, its mission statement: Band #1.
Cheerleading has been apart of my life since I was about ten and since then I've made it onto my high school's varsity team my freshman year, titled captain of my team for 2 years, and also coach a jr. team. This sport has taught me time management, to be dependable, and to accept everyone's abilities. Art is also another passion of mine. Whether it's performing art, vocal art, or pictorial art, it keeps me open-minded and helps me recognize life with several possibilities. I know that I will be able to bring my ability to manage my time well, be dependable, work well with all kinds of people, and to have an open mind to the campus and I'll prove that in every aspect of the college and the community.
A jolt of energy rushed through my body and hit my heart when they call me up to get the team trophy. Not fourth, third, or second, but first place for the third year in a row. Being a captain of a team is an amazing experience. You get to see your team physically, mentally, and emotionally prepare for competition. It's a lot of hard work, but if you try your hardest, make all the practices and have a passion for cheerleading its worth it. Every year we take a few weeks to build a competition routine, the out come is incredible, but the celebration is the best part.
