Cambridge student Stephen Hawking meets Jane at a party, and albeit both of them were shy at first but in the end, they get close. After a few days, Stephen learns about his disease and makes a decision to shut Jane off from his life as he has only two years to live. But Jane does not leave him, she confesses her love to him, even though knowing the time they could spend together will be less and the disease will slowly take Stephen away from her. They get engaged soon after, and Stephen gains his doctorate degree, having more interest in cosmological physics. There she meets the choir's teacher Jonathan. Jonathan befriends Jane and her family, yet with Stephen. He becomes a helping hand for Stephen, supporting Jane, and playing with the children, Jane eventually starts to feel attracted to Jonathan. After Jane gave birth to the third child, Stephen's family starts to question about the child's father. When Jonathan knows the families and friends start to whisper, he decides to back away. Jane insists on tracheotomy, but the family then have trouble in communicating with Stephen. Jane hired a nurse, Elaine, who quickly befits Stephen's needs while Jane gradually slips away from him. Stephen then gets the robotic speech aid program which helps him in communication. He uses it to write a book, the Brief History Of Time, which becomes an international bestseller .
