The Book of Heather Waves crash hard against the walls of my mind. I feel as if I’m drowning and I’m swallowing the saltiness that burns the inside of my lungs. I can let go of myself and disappear into a different world and be a different person if I feel like losing the fight. Then, suddenly my eyes focus back on the word and I immediately realize I’m dry and breathing, in my bed. This is what it feels like to read the Bible. As long as I can remember reading God’s words has been a passion of mine to express my need to get away, learn, and find myself. Using a book to get away is therapeutic to me. Faith has built me to the exact person I was created to be and the person I want my children to learn from. My dream is to spread The Gospel and teach the world how to survive the storms that stir in our brains and hearts. The waves that crash against the walls of my mind can be calmed by the Words of God. We can not only breathe but we can truly live. Without the Bible, I would’ve never learned how to survive the deep scary waters. I would’ve never learned about Jesus and how his saving grace works. I would’ve never found myself in this dark world that tries to swallow you whole and drown you until no more. I’m hopeful the world will learn the same way I did. All it takes is a lot of hope, grace, joy, the Bible and a little bit of
Metanarrative Essay The Biblical metanarrative can be explained by a Christian as the true and triumphant story from the beginning in Genesis until the future is prophesied in Revelation. Others who may not be a Christian do not understand the true power and love God has over us and for us and may just simply see it as a story or a rule book that they don’t want to follow. They see the Bible and all the things and plans God has for us and our lives and just think they don’t want any part of it and instead they live in sin. It is important that these people not only learn the true story but understand it as well.
Proverbs has always been one of the most renowned and loved books of the Bible.
As a child, I have always been fond of reading books. My mother would read to me every single night before I went to bed and sometimes throughout the day. It was the most exciting time of the day when she would open the cabinet, with what seemed to be hundreds of feet tall, of endless books to choose from. When she read to me, I wanted nothing more than to read just like her. Together, we worked on reading every chance we had. Eventually I got better at reading alone and could not put a book down. Instead of playing outside with my brothers during the Summer, I would stay inside in complete silence and just read. I remember going to the library with my mom on Saturdays, and staying the entire day. I looked forward to it each and every week.
There are many Christians, whether you believe or not that question why they should read the Old Testament/Hebrew bible. They feel it is unnecessary because of todays’ times and how things have changed, so they think that the Bible is far behind in what is going on in today’s world. Nevertheless, the Bible is current and is never outdated; therefore, we should never assume, especially as Christians that there is nothing new we can learn from the Bible. Reasons why Christians should read the Old Testament is because we should know that the Bible is still relevant in today’s world, to know God and his nature which in turn can transform one’s life, and to get wisdom and understanding so that they can apply to their lives.
“A worldview is the framework from which we view reality and make sense of life and the world. [It's] any ideology, philosophy, theology, movement or religion that provides an overarching approach to understanding God, the world and man's relations to God and the world. ”(1) A worldview can be described by thinking of a beam of light shining into a glass prism. All the light that enters the prism is the same, but different colors of light will come out the other side.
This article is a great reflection that guides to applying a Biblical worldview to business. Unfortunately, many believers have separated their beliefs with business and most of them have done this without even realizing it. Imagine sitting on a bench, reading your Bible. After some time a jogger in the park approaches and presents you with a question. My view on the world is full of hope, disappointment, fear, but most of all a complete realization that people are hurting in this world and my daily actions do influence people's’ lives. If I were to be able to meet someone from another country, I wouldn’t take that opportunity lightly whatsoever. I believe interactions like that can connect people and form the relationships necessary for the betterment of all people. To explain my view better, I’d carry my bible, a letter from a peer in school, and my grandma’s Mexican tea cakes.
Together in faith, a man and women create an ultimate bond once married. In the poster, I decided to display this connection through a few images and a phrase. Specifically, I placed the large picture of a couple holding hands at the altar to signify the love a man and a woman share together in marriage. Furthermore, I chose the image of the two hearts linked together to display the bond that two individuals in love share. The cross and rings next to it symbolize a marriage in faith as love is projected to each spouse and to God. Moreover, the image of the Bible highlights the importance that readings, gospels, and psalms have in a marriage as they describe God’s meaning of love and connection. Lastly, I generated the slogan, “a love of many

We read it, along with “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee in my ninth grade and I absolutely fell in love with the stories and their characters. My favorite quote from “To Kill a Mockingbird” is, “Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.” This line grabbed my attention and I felt like it related to me and my experiences with reading. I never cared about reading and quite sadly, I never wanted to.
