Morrie has a disease call ALS, where it shuts down the whole body slowly mostly leaving people to suffer. There is no cure for this disease and if one is to have the disease they will not live. So Morrie meets up with one of his former college student and start talking again. With that happening, Morrie tries to teach Mitch important lessons in life and Morrie still tries to find a way to stay positive. Morrie teaches people to live life through living without the person that one love most, trying to make the perfect day, and saying the final goodbye to a loved one. First, Morrie teaches people how to live without loved ones. When his father died from a heart attack Morrie had to move along and it helped Morrie get prepared for what lays ahead of him. “Do you ever hear my voice sometimes when you’re back home? When you’re alone?... Then you will not forget me after I’m gone. Think of my voice and I’ll be there” (Albom 134). To tell each other they loved each other and get his last moment with people who cares. An example of this is “This is how we say goodbye… Love you” (Albom 185). I agree with Morrie because saying the last goodbye to someone is hard especially if it is to one that was loved a lot. “Love you” has such a great meaning because saying Love you to someone shows that they have trusted, respects, cares, love, into one self and that saying “Love you” is like a whole another step that they have given their heart away and have feelings for that person now that they would protect.
