What Does It Mean To Be A Christian

What does it mean to be a Christian? Some may say that it means helping others out or just being kind to the people around them. Some say that being a Christian is just going to church on Wednesdays and Sundays, but there is a lot more to it than just being kind to others. Christians are called to try and be like Christ, to try and live like He did. They are to try to stay away from worldly temptations and glorify God in everything they do.
Christians are supposed to try and live like Christ. Even though this is impossible to fully achieve, living like Christ should be a Christian’s main goal in life. 1 John 2:6 says, “Whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.” Christians are called to be kind to everyone, even their enemies, just like Christ did while He was on earth. Christians are to forgive anyone who does them wrong or treats them poorly, just how Christ forgives everyone no matter what. They are called to turn the other cheek. The Bible says in Luke 6:31, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

They make bad decisions and fall into worldly temptations just like everyone else. Sometimes they choose to follow the people around them, even though those people may not be the best influence. Christians can even be tempted to go to parties where they will face with several different temptations. The difference is that Christians feel guilty about what they have done wrong and try to change their ways. They pray for forgiveness and repent of their sins. Christians go away knowing that they have been forgiven, saved by grace, and the Lord loves them no matter what. He loves them enough that He died on the cross so that everyone could be
