I’ve often heard of college described as “the best four years” of a student’s life and while I do hope it’s enjoyable, I don’t want it be the only best four years I’ll ever have. I’m hoping that college can teach me the skills and habits I’ll need to make the rest of my life enjoyable as well. I’m hoping that college will teach me skills I’ll need later in the real world like time management or how to interact with other people in a productive way. I’m hoping that college will teach me more about economics because it’s something I personally find interesting and want to learn more about. From my college experience, I hope to gain many things. Obviously college is a time that students can truly become individuals. When I attend college I will have the opportunity to become more independent and to take on new responsibilities. I have always relied on my parents for support, but at college I will be on my own and will have to push myself harder. This will help me to become more mature and will help me grow in character.
