It runs through my veins and I cannot live without it. For a long time I did not know who I was but one day, through a basketball camp, a coach helped me realize what my identity was. He helped me figure out that i am a child of God. All my uncles played basketball along with both of my Grandfathers. For a long time I thought that basketball had to be the only thing to define me but, it does not.
I first got involved in organized basketball when I was in the fourth grade. But I got involved in a different manner than most ball players; because of a physical disability, I could not actually participate in games and practices. However, I was never left out and I have always been part of the team; I am a basketball manager. I have loved every moment of being involved with basketball programs. I love every aspect of the game of basketball and that is why I chose to join a team by becoming a manager.
Dreams are necessary and we all have them. Without dreams, there will be no ambition to chase or no goal. Without a dream or goal, you are not chasing anything. I have throughout my whole life been playing sports. I still play basketball competitively and now it’s at the university level. Basketball though was not my first love when it came to playing sports. It has though become my true focus since junior high school. Coming from Canada everybody plays hockey. Its almost as if as soon as you learn to walk you learn how to skate. Whether it is at the recreation centre or at the shinny rink around the corner everyone plays. Eventually I abandoned hockey to play basketball which I have done so for the last twelve years of my life and hopefully a few more years into the future.

I started making more and more friends that also went to my junior high. Basketball helped me meet a lot of new people. By the time I left junior high I had already a core group of friends I hung out with that I met from playing basketball.

Although these dreams and wishes aren’t always practical, there’s still the possibility that you could accomplish it in the future. I personally have many dreams like that, some more realistic than others, but still doable.
