People have goals everyday, believe it or not some people think that dreams aren't worth it. I believe that it is worth it to dream because it gives a person a goal, it makes them feel good, and it makes them stronger. I know this from The Pearl, A Cubs video, the Susan Boyle video, and We Beat the streets. To begin with, I believe that it is worth it to dream because it gives a person a goal. In the book “We Beat The Streets” George,Sampson, and Ramek had a dream to go to college, they were the first ones to do it in their area. They were like superstars to some people but to others they were weird and unliked. This shows that someone can achieve a goal no matter how bad the circumstances.can achieve a goal. Also I believe that it it
worth it to dream because it helps them feel good. This lady looks really fat, ugly, and old and she has a goal of singing and she goes on Britain's got talent and sings really nice for everyone. Her name Is Susan Boyle. She had a dream and she probably had a hard time with it but she got her goal. This showed that no matter how someone looks they can still get their goal and can make people happy. Lastly it makes them stronger. The Cubs weren’t really good until last year when they won the World Series. They got physically and emotionally stronger on the way. This shows they get stronger on the trip to their dream. At the end of the trip they had a great time, but they have another goal for this year...to win again. This was from a inspirational Chicago Cubs video. Some people think It is not worth it to dream because it can waste their time on something they won’t accomplish. Some people believe it because it may have happened to them. This is an example on why not to dream. In The Pearl, Kino wanted to do great things with the pearl and wasted all of his time on it. In the end he never sold it and gave up and threw it in the water. That story shows how people can’t get far in dreams. I believe this is a good point, however I think that dreaming leads people to great places, even if people fail, in the end they had a great journey and built friendships and they got stronger on the way. In conclusion, I believe that it is worth it to dream because it gives a person a goal, it makes them feel good, and it makes them stronger. Dreaming helps people a lot, but only you can make yourself dream.
Christopher Johnson McCandless, the main character in the book “Into the Wild,” had made a lot of friends even though he did not like people. Wayne Westerberg was one of Chris’s friends who he met in a bar. Chris also befriended a girl named Jan Burre. Another person who befriended Chris was a guy named Ronald Franz,
The polish activist, Irena Sendler. once observed, ¨People can be only divided into good and bad; their race, religion, nationality don´t matter¨ (Sendler). Is it really possible to draw a demarcation line between people and divide them into good or bad? This kind of either-or thinking begs the question whether there might be other categories of individuals that overlap each other in term of personality and defy such simplistic definition as good or bad. The novel All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr is a fitting example of fiction to discuss the difference between polarized characters.
It is culturally expected that as a human being’s age increases, so does the amount of control they have over their own lives. However, when adolescents are allowed to have too little or too little great amount during their formative years, it can adversely affect their decision making process. In The Walls Around Us, Nova Ren Suma crafted young adult characters who, due to either having not enough or too much control over their own lives, react violently when placed in stressful situations.
Dreams can be more harmful than inspire the dreamer. While dreams can give an individual a purpose, it makes the dreamer have high expectations and make the dreamer obsessed. No one is saying too give up a dream, but seeing that dreams can harm it could be said that people should be more careful. Just like the green balloon that though it saw the light, dreamers can become delusional and obsessed. When that happens people can become crazy and loose in touch with reality. Dream propels the world to a new future, but dreams also can setback the future. But its much harder to move forward from a bad dream. Perhaps, the world can learn that not all dreams are helpful.
I think giving up on your dreams is like kind of giving yourself. When people lack of having control of their lives they endured by them imagine their dream and idealizing the outcome. They decided not to take action and make their dream come true. I thinks its like this because they could have insecurities and hope in the inner-selves. Some people have depression for not them following their dreams. Lose hope in themselves and makes not in themselves. This not beneficial because dreams are not becoming true and nobody want faith for themselves. They believe that it’s no point of having hope about their dreams if they think it’s not going to come true. I think if I can do so can others. They just have to the confident and potential as me, and whatever they want can come true. They also have to work hard and just give up it’s a obstacle
Dreams are not just empty ideas, they give people ambition, and it is the pursuit of that ambition, which shapes a person. However, society instils an illusion about what can be achieved. Dreams can be tied to identity, but they can be good or bad. The Great Gatsby [F. Scott Fitzgerald] and Shattered Glass [Teresa Toten] share the similes in which both main characters dream of finding themselves and reach their end goals, through pressure and love. Both authors imply that dreams should be verified that they are possible before you start following them, otherwise they can ended up deadly.

However, it is more than just hope, more than just having success, it is the perceived equality of opportunity that keeps the dream alive. Equality in reality not necessary for the dream to exist. What is important is that despite not being perfect, is that we aspire to perfection. The dream is the possibility for each and every one of us to discover our own personal success. All people, both citizens and noncitizens from around the world, believe that in America it is possible to live the life of your dreams. It matters not if you actually do, it is having the chance that is the American Dream.
Anthony Doerr’s novel All the Light We Cannot See shows the reader how children would deal with war and how it shaped who they are today. Doerr’s purpose for writing this novel is to highlight how mentally taxing the war was and that there was no permanent escape from the war. Both Marie-Laure and Werner believed they could escape the war both physically and mentally, yet their involvement in it makes it more difficult. Marie-Laure’s fear of her father going to jail shows how she becomes involved in the war. Werner struggled with trying to escape the war through his fascination with radios when it just brought him further into the war. After understanding the effect on certain individuals; the story zooms out showing how the majority
The song “I Get a Kick Out of You” is written and composed by Cole Porter. Porter was well known as one of the prominent songwriters of the 20th century as he was one of the lyricists who was writing his own music and lyrics of most of his songs. Therefore, he’s mostly known for his “Individual songs than complete shows. Porter’s lyrics contain more intellectual references to poetry, philosophy, history, painting and literature than do the lyrics of any other Broadway songwriter. He is best known for the 1934 classic “Anything Goes” and “I Get a Kick Out of You” and for the 1938 Kiss Me, Kate with “Too Darn Hot” and Wunderbar” (Lesson: The Composers of the Broadway). So, beginning 1930s, he wrote many hit songs and one of those hit songs is known as “I get a Kick Out of You.” Which he originally
n the average lifetime, people spend about 6 years dreaming. In class, we have been debating whether it is or is not worth it to dream. We have looked at numerous books, articles, and videos about why it is and is not worth it to dream. It is worth it to dream because No matter where one comes from or how they grow up there is always a way to accomplish their dreams, If they succeed it can bring publicity, more money, and help in other ways to their community, and If one’s dream fails they can always try again.
Although, not all dreams come true, giving up is never going to be the correct answer. The whole idea of the American Dream is doing what you love without any consequences. If people allow life to get in the way of their happiness, certain people are constantly going to be upset with the way life turns out. Dreams are not meant to happen overnight or be easy to achieve. Dreams take time, effort, and ambition to achieve. Even then dreams might never come true, but that should not stop anyone from trying their utmost hardest.
Noah is the one of the main characters of The Notebook. He is the hero of this novel. Noah represents true love and true loyalty. In a way, The Notebook is similar to every modern day romance movie, and Noah represents the “dream man” that all the girls always imagine of having. The characters in movies are used to symbolize ideas, and in this novel, Noah represents true, faithful, committed love. Noah remains loyal to Allie even in the situation where he is unsure whether they will ever meet again or not.
Dreaming, a key tool to accomplishing anything in life, adds guidance to one’s life. From small-scale to large-scale, people accomplish things on a daily basis. What sets people’s dreams apart from each other? Ambition and commitment. As defined by the Oxford Dictionary, ambition is “a strong desire to do or achieve something.” Ambition and commitment coincide with each other because when a passionate dreamer commits to a goal they desire to achieve, the probability of success increases. An article about ambition states, “Only those who are truly committed will become a new and different person in order to live their commitment.” (Benjamin P. Hardy) This means that people who are determined to achieve will get there, no matter what the possible setbacks are. Cohesively, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Raisin in the Sun, and
Most people have dreams. Big ones or small ones. Even the most successful people had dreams and that is what has made them what they are today. Dreaming is essential for a human being. Without dreams, you will lose interest in life and finally hate to live life. You will be
