n the average lifetime, people spend about 6 years dreaming. In class, we have been debating whether it is or is not worth it to dream. We have looked at numerous books, articles, and videos about why it is and is not worth it to dream. It is worth it to dream because No matter where one comes from or how they grow up there is always a way to accomplish their dreams, If they succeed it can bring publicity, more money, and help in other ways to their community, and If one’s dream fails they can always try again.
To begin with, no matter where someone come from or how they grow up there is always a way to accomplish their dreams. In We beat the Street George, Ramek and Sampson came from a very bad neighborhood and had never heard of others in

their community even going to college but they worked hard and became doctors. Many people thought that they never had a chance but some helped them through their struggles. If they have support it is much easier but it is still possible without it. All one has to do is work for it and never give up even when it feels like the whole world is against them.
Also If one's dream does not work out the first time they try it then they can always try again. In the “Austin Hatch video,” Austin lost his family two different times but he never used that as an excuse and he was successful. The first time he tried to become a basketball star he got in a plane crash and had to heal and practice forever before he was able to play again. He also had to overcome the fact that he lost his parents. Even though there was so much against him he achieved his dream.
In addition, If someone does succeed then they could help out their community. Ramek, Sampson, and George came back to their town after they became doctors and helped out as doctors. Their town needed more doctors and they decided to help. They all helped their community and they are famous role models to everyone in their community. Now they might inspire many people to try in school and try to go to college instead of selling or doing drugs.
However, some people believe that it is not worth it to dream because it can make people greedy. In The Pearl by John Steinbeck Kino finds a pearl and begins to dream wild thoughts. But if he would have listened to his friends and family it would have kept him from becoming greedy. All he had to do was listen and none of the bad stuff would have happened. So if people listen and watch themselves then they will get to their dream and will not become greedy.
In conclusion It is worth it to dream because No matter where one comes from or how they grow up there is always a way to accomplish their dreams, If they succeed it can bring publicity, more money, and help in other ways to their community, and If one’s dream fails they can always try again. Will you be a success and at least try or are you going to be a failure and not give your dream a chance?
