Daydreams
Our goal in life should be to inspire people. I know I would want someone to look at me and say, “because of you I didn’t give up.” But do we dare to live the life we dreamed for ourselves? We have to go forward and make our dreams come true. As we talk about dreaming, and go more in depth, we see both positives and negatives to following and fulfilling our dreams. Even though it can give people false hope, fake love, and bad outcomes, we can also achieve great accomplishments, it gives us a hard work ethic, and we strive to live life to the fullest.
Indeed, dreams don’t always come true. Some people will never experience what it’s like to accomplish something that they have worked so hard for, and set their mind to. People always

Many school aged kids spend their evenings at practices for sports, and even more nights dreaming of being a professional athlete. However, when researching I found that 99 percent don't make it. It sounds harsh, but it’s reality. Only a very small percentage of students will ever play in the NFL. In fact, only 1.7 percent of college football players will play in the NFL, and even a smaller percent of basketball players go on to play in the NBA and WNBA. But it's not just athletics. The same small percentages apply to music and the arts. Even though dreams can take a lot of hard work and patience. We still need to pursue our passion. The path we decide to take needs to be somewhat realistic, so we don’t get heartbroken in the long run. But we don’t want to live in …show more content…
When pursuing this further, it is definitely evident when looking at famous Hollywood stars or athletes, and many others, like Martin Luther King Jr. that dreaming and striving for a goal can lead to amazing accomplishments. "You'll never achieve your dreams if they don't become goals” Anonymous. Another example is Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream speech. Going after our dreams is important. Think back to the time when the United States was full of slaves. What would our world be like without a brave soul like King? Would slavery still be present, or would someone else stand up, and go after the dream of a free nation? King’s dream was definitely one of the best accomplishments in life. Without him dreaming and proclaiming his thoughts and goals, the world might never have been changed. Overall, the outcomes of dreaming can lead us to achieve great accomplishments in life. And who knows, maybe in 200 years we might still be talked about for fulfilling our dreams
To begin with, I believe that it is worth it to dream because it gives a person a goal. In the book “We Beat The Streets” George,Sampson, and Ramek had a dream to go to college, they were the first ones to do it in their area. They were like superstars to some people but to others they were weird and unliked. This shows that someone can achieve a goal no matter how bad the circumstances.can achieve a goal.
yet rarely are these goals ever met. It is the American Dream. In East of
... in the other hand, I think if people reach their goal for money and fame, the real dreams already changed.
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” This quote from Walt Disney addressing the concept of achieving dreams is very accurate, and can be seen throughout literature today and in the past. Dreams can give people power or take away hope, and influence how people live their lives based upon whether they have the determination to attack their dreams or not; as seen through characters like the speaker in Harlem by Langston Hughes and Lena and Walter Younger in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in The Sun.
A dream or aspiration is a desire that people wish to achieve in their life just as badly as they want to breathe. There are many human beings all over the world chasing their ambition, although it’s not easy. Many people give up early on their dreams and fail to succeed once things become too difficult. However, individuals that fail to succeed do not live their dreams, they live their fears. These individuals are afraid of failure, hope, themselves, and unfortunately their dream becomes impossible to pursue. On the other hand, the individuals that become successful are the people who believe in themselves because when life knocks a dreamer down they must get right back up and continue to strive to reach their full potential. The novel The
“If you can dream it, you can do it,” is a quote that Walt Disney was known for saying. I simple means you can accomplish and reach every one of our dreams if you have the determination to pursue them. This is the main concept behind the essay of “The Dreamer.” By Junot Diaz. The essay/article. Was first written and appeared in More Magazine for women in 2011 (Diaz 128). It is the short story of Junot Diaz’s mother was determination to go to school and get an education despite the punishment she endured and the sacrifice required.
Before any football player can say they are for sure going to play in the NFL for a career, they might want to consider how likely that will happen. The statistics of a football player going to the NFL are extremely low. The chances of playing college football at the levels of division one (D1) or division two (D2) on scholarship are also slim. The D1 or D2 college levels of football produce the most NFL players. Most high school football players want to play in D1 or D2 football, but the reality is that barely any of them will. There are an estimated 1,093,234 senior high school football players in the United States (“Football”). The astonishing reality is that just 4.2% of those 1,093,234 seniors in high school will play college football at the D1 or D2 level (“Football”). If a football player does get their scholarship to play college football they should feel grateful that they are one of the roughly 45,916 to accomplish that (“Football”). The statistics are now even lower for a college football player that is trying to make it to the NFL. There are only 15,842 college football players eligible for the NFL Draft, which are juniors and seniors (“Football”). Just the tiny number of 1.6% is how many of those draft eligible players will play in the NFL. Many coll...
Burleigh states, “College ball is dangled as one way out of poverty for big athletic kids. The pot of gold is alluring, and it’s hard not to blame kids for choosing the sport.” (612). Colleges offer scholarships which are a chance at a free education, an opportunity of a lifetime with a possibility of playing NFL. The fact is players will always be the property of the colleges they play for and or team owners who hired them (612). Each and every year there are thousands, upon thousands that dream the dream of playing collegent or professional football. It may be easier to win the lottery, than a spot on an NFL roster. Now add in the potential of serious injury, or a fatality, because the odds without injury are enormous and then a glimmer of the dream dims. There is no guarantee on any level that there will be a success. One devastating injury and the scholarship is rescinded, the player released and the contract isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Now your education or career is over.
Dreams can have a bigger impact on life than we could ever imagine. But, what I have come to realize is, unless you put your dreams into action, it will always be a dream. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream and put it into action by giving his “I Have A Dream” speech. The main character, Walter, put his dream into action in the play, A Raisin in the Sun. Both people were fighting for the rights and the feeling of equality in this nation and seemed to make a difference and movement.
Prose 1: I’d love to daydream, but my reality just fails in comparison! I am passionate about exploring possibilities that accompany daydreams, floating your worries away and living in your own little piece of heaven. For me, my little piece of heaven is the tropical and tranquil waters of the Caribbean, along with vast islands that dot the surface, this is a place I dream to call home. I often wonder if I can try to make these dreams a reality, everything comes crashing down, life takes over and the dreams simply whisk away…. The expression live your dreams is often easier said than done, and it is very easy to fall victim to untethered reality that one experience’s in their dreams.
We all have a dream, but the difference is how we realise our dream, how we obtain our dream, and how our dream changes us. This is evident in our learning of dreams and aspirations through the texts Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keys, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? by Lasse Hallström, and through my own studies of Million Dollar Baby by Clint Eastwood. These three highly acclaimed texts represent the same ideas on dreams and aspirations, which can be defined as hope, desire or the longing for a condition or achievement, but these texts express the same ideas differently, shaping our understanding of dreams and aspirations.
Dreaming is very different than everyday life, yet somehow still relates to it in some way. In everyday life we have stress and happiness along with many other emotions. Yet in someway when we drift off into a deep sleep this emotions come right back. Dalai Lama once said that “sleep is the best meditation.” Sleep may be the one thing that people turn to, a place where your mind is totally set free to do what it wants and think what it wants. An idea or vision that is created in your imagination that when suddenly when you awake, feels so real.Dream reflect reality because most peoples dreams are in fact related to past, and recent experiences, or events that have happened in a person’s life. Dreams are more than just a method of entertainment, They should be taken more seriously because of the fact that with dreams imitating own reality, you can then learn more about yourself.
Dreams are necessary. Without dreams, there will be no ambition to chase. There will be no goal to reach. We won't have anything to aim for. We will all be nothing without dreams. Not having dreams is like chasing a traceless murder. It is like following an invisible shadow. It is a dreadful goose chase. We must know what we want to do and follow that ambition. We can’t achieve anything in life without goals, and for these goals, we need to dream.
Every night we experience them. They have the power to make us feel happy, sad or even terrified. They are dreams. But what really are dreams? I chose to research dreams because we all experience them and I realized just how little I knew about them even though I dream every night. I walk to school and on days when my friend isn’t walking with me my mind tends to wander so of course I eventually landed on dreams. I made some conclusions myself but wanted to be sure so when the opportunity to research it for a project arose I took it.
“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort” (Owens). Without any determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort dreams will not turn into reality. People should look forward and push for that reality. Anyone can say they will fulfill their dream, but it takes someone with dedication, determination and effort to accomplish that dream. Effort is the key to success. Effort is like the sugar and spice to everything nice. Without any push of effort for the dream to become reality dedication, determination and self-discipline don’t take place. The dream drives people to accomplish the unexpected.
