Problems between Friends
Communication means connecting or sharing ideas, and feelings to one another. Family and friends are one of the people that we communicate the most which is a way to build relationship, but sometimes miscommunication happens and it can lead to arguments. During high school, Three of my friends, Ella, Kass, and Karen, my sister, Rani, my cousin, Zhar and I are really close with each other. We hang out after school together. We buy matching bracelets and other things too but even though we are close we had some arguments. According to Barbara Markway, Ph.D, There is a right procedure to solve a relationship problems. The first step is to define the problem and then set your goal, what you want to happen. Next step is to find possible solutions that is acceptable for you and the other, apply it and then evaluate the result. In another article, Christine Martin states some effective way to communicate which are presenting information and active listening. We should think before we speak and make sure the other person understand what you are trying to tell him/her. We should also pay attention when she is listening, and do not interrupt them or judge them. Another thing is we should remain calm while we are talking. In my second problem, we could have solve the problem on our first talk but everyone got so emotional that it only made it worse. Last thing to remember is to apologize and forgive one another. A friendship relationship can be build even though there are problems that comes to it. Andrea Bonior, Ph.D says that in order to strengthen your friendship, we should be taking new experiences together, hanging out like taking road trips together, and talk to each other about your complaints
It is important to realize that interpersonal conflict exists in every instance of interpersonal relationship. It is equally important to understand that conflicts in a relationship are not always a detrimental thing. Conflict resolution involves several aspects of effective interpersonal communication. Self-disclosure, messages (and message meaning), and transactional communication not only contribute to the solution, but can be by-products as well. Relationships are dynamic (Hamlett, Cycle 3). So too will be the conflicts that arise. Our ability to adapt and implement effective conflict resolution can actually strengthen a relationship and make the relationship more valuable.
Relationships play an important role in everyday life. It is essential for the positive, social and mental development of the people required in the relationship. It starts off with infatuation and goes through several stages. Somewhere along the way the relationship can take a toll and will take the brunt of the fall. It’s a theory that describes how relationships and relational partners change over time. Let’s face it you want to listen well before setting a plan of action. Never jump into any conversation unprepared, not only can it cause conflict but you can lose credibility if the meaning of what you are trying to say is lost. Verbal communication is always best, talking to another individual face to face is a good idea this way you can judge their reactions by their body language and you can express the correct meaning. But, remember that verbal is not the only form of communication. Your nonverbal communication can say a lot to the receiver (ie. body language). Use supportive messages rather than defensive ones can be more productive. Any conflict can be resolved through correct and effective communication.

There is difficulty assigning a specific method that works best for friends and family because it depends on people's personality. As well as keeping in mind that the relationship between both parties. People are not born with set values and expectations, therefore, their friends and family help define and frame who they are. Usually, those people act in someone's best interest so when conflict occurs addressing an issue can either heal or break relationships. Avoidance is labeled as one of the low conflict resolution styles because of the lack of assertiveness. Positive conflict is ideal so the outcome can be constructive, task-focused, or reduce the problem. However, there is a layer of complexity with friends and family because of the personal investment. Avoiding can be beneficial to some degree as far as reducing stress, saving time or reducing the risk of enhancing the problem. When it comes to friends and family there is a concern about hurting others and disturbing relationships so avoidance is seen as the best option. On the other hand, the lack of communication may harbor resentment between two individuals and increase the original conflict. As a whole, avoidance occasionally works well in long-term friendships or with close family members because there is more attention on building the relationship than fighting. But

The family can determine the class of an individual, the education level, and their religion. There are different types of families that have existed and some that are still present today. In the past the nuclear family was the ideal model. The nuclear family also called domesticity is characterized as, women being responsible for keeping the home and children and men being the breadwinner. It is two adults living together in a household with their own or adopted children. Another type of family is the extended family. The extended family is defined as a family group consisting of more than two generation of relatives living either within the same household or very close to one another. Grandparents, aunts, and in-laws are examples of extended families.
