... ground and commented that the kind of training was not part of the agenda and that LTC Holland was too low and banking over too hard, but he did not take inmediate action to this respect. Besides this observations from these senior leaders no action was taken. Despite the regulations that were established, the two senior officers lack of moral courage to say that LTC Howard was acting wrong that day. One of them should take the decition to stop the B-52 pilot. As we can see, moral courage is very important and in this situation could save the live of the B-52 tripulation, but, It did not happen. Nobody claimed for something fair (stopping LTC Holland actions). Col Pellerin and LTC Holland did not act within morale standars. Finally there was no cohesion in this group and there was lack of confidence to tell that one element from the organization was acting wrong.

Operations management focuses on carefully managing the processes to reduce and distribute products and services. Related activities include managing purchases, inventory control, quality control, storages, logistics and evaluations. A great deal of focus is on efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Therefore, operations management often includes substantial measurement and analysis of internal processes. Ultimately, the nature of how the operations management is carried out in an organisation depends very much on the nature of products or services in the organisation, for example, retail, manufacturing, wholesale and etcetera.
The small distributing company with old and simplistic information systems will need to figure out how they are going to transition with a number or key employees retiring. Prior to the actual retirement date, the company should hire individuals that can collaborate with the soon-to-be retirees. This will help maintain vendor relationships and give the new employees a better understanding of how the company currently operates. Essentially, the distributing company needs to come up with a strategy that will help with more efficient logistics (as they are a distribution company), purchasing, inventory control, all while avoiding the bull-whip effect.

The client complained about waiting for more than 30minutes after placing an order. Finally, when the food service worker brought the food, it was of poor quality with too much cheese, salt and too much pepper, thus it was not palatable. In addition, she had ordered a semi-vegetarian diet, but what she received was a total-vegetarian diet. When the client questioned the food service worker, the worker was speechless and only managed to say that such a mistake would never occur again. The client wanted a refund for the poor service since she could not wait indefinitely for some other undetermined minutes. The worker was trying to cool her down, accepting his mistake and giving his apology, but instead of accepting the apology, the client demanded to see the person in charge. She was referred to me: the dietitian, since I was responsible for ensuring that product and service quality was adhered to.

Studies are highlighting that there has been increased consumption of services offered by logistical service providers in supply chains. A logistics service provider is used synonymously to refer to carriers, forwarding and transportation companies, as well as, third party logistic providers and logistic service companies. Logistic service providers are significant actors in the supply chain as they handle substantial shares of their customers’ activities. Logistics service providers provide their customers with traditional logistics services such as transportation and warehousing and supplementary services such as order administration and track-and-trace services. Logistics performance in the supply chain such as lead-time, flexibility and on-time delivery should be a shared responsibility as they are created by customers, suppliers and logistics service providers. The increasing competitiveness of the business environment demands that logistics service providers should develop skills in the analysis and reporting of performance data to guarantee success with their customers.
