People Should Be Encouraged To Use Public Transportation More.
Nowadays, public transport is one of the important parts of our life. This is because we use public transportation every day to go somewhere. Public transportation provides accessible transport for people regardless of demographics such as rural or urban. Many people ride public transportation which will bring good impact to the country and society. There are various reasons to promote people to use cars less and public transport more.
The first reason for using a public transport is it is the safest way to commute than use private vehicles. A lot of accidents happened in the city and mostly it involves cars and motorcycles. These awful accidents can be averted if everyone uses public transport as their main transportation ways. For example, public transportations trips result in 200 000 slightly more deaths, injuries and accidents than similar trips made by individual vehicles. Public transport helps reduce injuries and fatalities caused by private vehicles. Besides that, the rate of car theft can also be decreased if people tend to use public transportation compare to their own vehicles in the city. By doing so, people who use public transport would not be worried about their vehicles than people who use their own vehicles. It is a smart option to uses public transport since the criminal offense has increased particularly in the city area. So, as a safety precaution the public should use only public transport whenever they desire to go.
The second reason is Public transport helps to save cost more instead than using own private vehicles. Public transportation is more affordable rather than driving to work every day The cost of public transportation should be afford...

...people’s health, if less carbon dioxide release to the environment, people do not have to breathe polluted air inevitably. Besides that, it will cause no great traffic jam because people use more public transit. Furthermore, it helps reduce the amount of exhaust fumes in the air. In addition to that, it may be able to relieve traffic jams. If more people use public transportation, it means diminishing the number of cars on the road.
As a conclusion, there are many ways to encourage people to use less private cars and turn to use more public transportation that government provided because it is the best and easy way that people can do. Now, change our mindset to use public transportation compare to private vehicles. So, there are no reasons to say no to public transportation. Public transportation nowadays is developed to be faster and more convenient for citizens.
Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order to start making a difference, the federal government should increase gasoline tax by one dollar a gallon. Fifty percent of this dollar will go towards public transportation, since passenger cars and trucks are a major contribution towards air pollution, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, E.P.A (10/4, http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/emsns.html). Due to the expected increase after this is put forth, the remaining fifty percent of the dollar will go towards safety on these transits. When public transportation increases, air pollution will decrease, which will lessen the harmful health risks towards the environment.
“The automobile has created a dependence, society couldn't live without automobiles because mass transit systems” (Negative Impact of the Automobile 5). Apart from creating a dependence on the automobile, traffic congestion, air pollution and fatal casualties increased with the increasing number of automobiles on the road.
When you encounter a city such as Chicago, it is practically impossible to avoid CTA and Metra trains. From short store errands to long journeys home, the CTA is there as your personal downtown car. If you do not have enough money to put into owning a car or simply do not want to put up with trying to find parking in the congested city, the CTA is there for you. Where more people to use the CTA, the amount of gas polluting the earth would significantly decrease the pollution levels in Chicago. Since there aren't as many cars on the road, it not only decreases the carbon monoxide leaking from cars but the amount of cars on the road, which also decreases the amount of people on the road. Numerous laws state how using the CTA could benefit people in Chicago overall. These are just some of the reasons Metra and the CTA has impacted everything from population to economics and even political and environmental issues.
When cars were just entering fashion and today's market leaders were obtaining momentum, a lot of cities relied on electric streetcar systems for public transport. These trams had actually dominated metropolitan transport because the late nineteenth century, and their abundance in heavily populated centers positioned a problem for the fledgling automotive market. Put simply, if everyone had the ability to take a trolley to work or the supermarket, there would be no demand for individual vehicles or buses.
“The poor public transportation prevents many public-university students from taking full advantage of their education. They have long waits before boarding their buses and miss many of their morning classes and, occasionally, exams.”
Transport is a political factor as it is controlled and affected by legislation. This will impact on the staff and opponents (travelling to the stadium) as the accessibility of transport will impact on travelling times – both positively (may avoid traffic on a train e.g.) and negatively (trains, buses etc. may be cancelled or delayed). The price of transportation will also affect the mode of transport that these groups of people may use. Similarly, price and accessibility of transport will affect the consumers also. The view that consumers hold on transport, therefore, is likely to impact on the business i.e. effort to travel, money to travel etc. as this will influence how often they will visit, what they will spend during their visit etc. According to (Mintel 2011,) the amount of people using train as a mode of transport is on the rise, mea...
For formulating a more efficient transport pattern, there are some specific strategies. Firstly, government can encourage people to pay more attention to public transit. The actual data about transit use from most cities indicates that transit use is growing in many cities, in addition, some developed cities have been reducing their car use and pay more attention to the public transport (Newman, 1999). Encouraging urban citizens use more public transit is effective in reducing the quantity of private cars. It is generally known that private cars have brought great pressure on urban traffic. Secondly, government can restrict cars based on the “odd-and-even l...
First of the difference between public transportation and private car is convenience in travel. There are many type of transportations that people can choose to travelling such as bus and van. People can save time to go work in morning and to back when they finished working. Even though, people have to go to work in a crowded bus, people can avoid and also less traffic jams from using their own car on the road. If they go to work or somewhere by private car, they will get serious when they get stick in their car for a long time. People do not have to find parking when they go out to work or shopping. Moreover, public transportation saves environment because it helps people decrease air pollution from using private car.
Should students take advantage of the public transportation more seriously than owning a car? The public transportation can solves to numerous problems; the bus transportation can be a universal antidote for bigger issues such as global warming. By taking the bus can save students’ time and money, rather than students who have a car have deal with traffic and expensive parking fee. Students who own a car might experience sitting in such a long traffic, where during the traffic cars may produce noxious gases relieving particle of air that can contribute the affect to human health. The public transportation is the best solution for an enormous population of students, so students’ needs to get on the transit a try. The transition system in the
The development of urban transportation has not changed with the cities; cities have changed with transportation. This chapter offers an insight into the Past and the future of Urban transportation and is split up into a number of different sections. It includes a timeline of the different forms of transport innovations, starting from the earliest stages of urban transport, dating back to the omnibus (the first type of urban transportation) and working in a chronological order until eventually reaching the automobile. However, these changes in Urban transport did not happen for no reason. Different factors within society meant urban transport needed to evolve; points will be made on why society needed this evolution. In contrast I will observe the problems urban transport has caused in society as a result of its rapid progression. Taking account of both arguments for the evolution of urban transport, I will look at where it will go in the future.
Transport represents one of the most important human activities worldwide. It is an indispensable component of the economy and plays a major role in spatial relations between locations. Transport creates valuable links between regions and economic activities, between people and the rest of the world. Transport is a multi-dimensional activity whose importance is historical, social, environmental, political, and economical. (Rodrigueetal, 2006).
If you use public transport you spend on your journey as and when you need to travel, whereas if you own a car you are paying for it all the time, even if you are not using it, as insurance, tax and MOTs need constantly maintaining.
Most people take the urban public transportation system for granted. It is used in every aspect of our daily lives: work, education, medical necessities, recreation, etc. It is also important for the transportation of goods and services, which aids the growth and maintenance of our economy. Urban public transportation is the critical component of our quality of life and economic stability. The MBTA, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, is Boston and Eastern Massachusetts’s major transportation service. The MBTA has played a central role in the development of Boston and surrounding cities and towns for more than a century; providing service from 175 cities and towns into Boston. On an average weekday over 1.2 million trips are made on the subway, buses, commuter lines and other services in the mass transit system. With an international airport, a ship port, the highways, and the rail lines to connect regional cities and towns to national and international destinations and markets, Boston’s urban public transportation system has made the region’s growing role in the global economy possible.
First of all, the difference is in the facility or convenience. Travelling on public transport could be a waste of time due to waiting for the bus especially in the rush hours’ time. It is quite hard to wait for a bus and whenever there is an urgent work and you have to reach somewhere in a hurry, you might get late due to waiting for a long period. In contrast to traveling on public transportation, driving your own car is more convenient and reliable. People can start their car and can go to anywhere that want without any wait or suffering from different kinds of problems. Going to an event or meeting can be helpful in your own car as compare to public transport as it can affect your personality.
Rail transportation is a transportation in which for movement of people and goods which from one location to another destination. Rail had been takes the important role in physical and economic development of town and cities in a country and it was developed over the world. Rail transport can be made a property value in a country increase and it must be needs improvement in transportation network expanding (Goldberg, 1970). Thus, the railway services need to be done with continuous improvement and it is important to the rail passengers of the range and quality of facilities and service on stations and trains (Gleave, S. D., 2000). The future development to a public transportation is a key to affect
