One day I was at school, and I noticed most of the class was wearing Under Armour. One girl had an Under Armour headband on, another had a T-shirt. I saw others wearing Under Armour shoes, shorts, sweatshirts, and socks. This got me thinking about how Under Armour got started. Under Armour has a captivating startup and success story. Today they’re widely known across the world for their athletic clothing for all sizes, genders, and ages. Under Armour was invented long ago and is still popular today. Kevin Plank started Under Armour in 1996 when he was only 23 years old. Plank grew up in Maryland and played football in high school and college. Whenever Kevin played football, his undershirt constantly got sweaty. He thought this felt unpleasant and desired a solution. Once his shirts were made, he had to find ways to sell them. To do this he asked his old school friends that now played professional football if they would try out his shirts. They wore the shirts in a game and promoted Under Armour as they did so. Another way he sold shirts was by driving up and down the streets, selling them from his trunk. Once Under Armour’s name was out, he got his first order in 1996 from the Georgia State football team. Then in 1997, Kevin got an order from the Miami Dolphins. They asked for 150 shirts, but Kevin didn’t think he could make that much. He finally realized that this could expand his company greatly, and decided to make the shirts. Another contributing factor to the growth of his company was the movie ‘Any Given Sunday’. The movie came out in 1999 and the actors wore his shirts in
Under Armor hired some of the best athletes today that use their shoe to train in order show the rest of the world how great they are and how everyone needs a pair. With a combined net worth of over 500 million dollars, all of the athletes in the commercial are quite credible. The main reason for choosing such extraordinary athletes makes perfect sense because they have had so much success in the past. When people see this commercial, they could relate to it because every Sunday they watch that person score touchdowns for their favorite teams. Once people can relate to a commercial, they will become more interested in the product resulting in a great chance of purchasing it. Also, the tone and vibe that Ray Lewis gives off is quite amazing. He is staring directly into your eyes when watching the commercial, and definite “connects” with the viewer to a deep level. It is almost like you feel the presence of a top athlete giving you advice right to your face.

Wilson aimed to make active-wear that was not only durable, but could also be considered stylish.
