Introduction In the world we are living in today globalization has enhanced the development of many global companies that functions next to geographical boarders. A lot of business are increasing through alliances and joint ventures to partner together to create more revenue and solutions to the problems. This problem has caused an increasing number of employees wanting to gain international experience outside of their home-based countries. Trent knew a lot about Korea due to the fact that he did an understudy there while in college, but was not familiar with how Odyssey business goals and objectives in South Korea. Trent informed me that he did received training on the following: databases he would be working with, International competencies that’s require in the work place, and Korean business etiquette training. There was a culture mishaps that took place when Trent enter the wrong number in the data base. One of the human resources managers that was working closely with Trent caught the error and became angry because in Korea they expect high level of performance of themselves. This was a culture shook for Trent because he never experience an employee getting angry over a small mistake. Trent knew if he really wanted to be do well he needed to be motivated and willing to make mistakes in order to thrive while living in Korea. The things that Trent had working for him in his favor while in Korea was he knew how to network with other expats and build relationships with people for conducting business. Trent work with a local expat and did some cross-cultural training that would be helpful managing the Koran consultants with the North America team.
