Trent knew a lot about Korea due to the fact that he did an understudy there while in college, but was not familiar with how Odyssey business goals and objectives in South Korea. Trent informed me that he did received training on the following: databases he would be working with, International competencies that’s require in the work place, and Korean business etiquette training. There was a culture mishaps that took place when Trent enter the wrong number in the data base. One of the human resources managers that was working closely with Trent caught the error and became angry because in Korea they expect high level of performance of themselves. This was a culture shook for Trent because he never experience an employee getting angry over a small mistake. Trent knew if he really wanted to be do well he needed to be motivated and willing to make mistakes in order to thrive while living in Korea. The things that Trent had working for him in his favor while in Korea was he knew how to network with other expats and build relationships with people for conducting business. Trent work with a local expat and did some cross-cultural training that would be helpful managing the Koran consultants with the North America team. The Trent Affair was a strategic crisis that took place between Great Britain and the United States. The crisis began after the captain of the of the USS San Jacinto ordered an arrest of two emissaries sailing to Europe on board of a British mail ship, the Trent, to look for support for the South in the Civil War. This led to a dispute on who and what started this crisis but at the end of the day everyone pointed their fingers to San Jacinto. The british, who didn't take sides in the war, were furious and stated the seizure of a ship by the U.S Navy was a violation of the law which technically they were not wrong. I am currently an English 160 student who is hoping to move on to the next course, which is English 161. I understand the requirements for English 161. It require students to explore a topic in some depth and conduct independent research related to that topic. Conducting research allows students to learn what it is like to participate in academic culture, posing questions about important issues and developing an argument in response to what others have said. It expected students to learn the most valuable skill in college, which is critical thinking. Students have to be able to read challenging readings. Although I still have problems with English, I think I’m qualified to move on.

I rated Kurt Warner as a competent manager on the scale of managerial incompetence. Kurt Warner fulfilled the two requirements for this quadrant on a regular basis. Competent managers get results through others and are good at building teams. Kurt Warner, a quarterback, leads through example which earns him respect from his peers. He is encouraging, positive, and challenging. He takes responsibility for his entire team as a good leader should. All of these qualities increase the comradery and trust within a team, thus encouraging positive results. One instance of Kurt Warner taking responsibility for his team was during a preseason practice with the St. Louis Rams. When the center’s snap missed Kurt’s hands, there was a fumble.
Tim Tebow, a football player, a Christian and a Missionary, and my role model. Tim has been playing football since 2007 and is a well known QB to football fans throughout America. He was raised in a Christian family in the Philippines. Tebow displays his faith on the field by dropping to one knee and resting his head in his hands in prayer. He is not afraid to show other people his faith, and I hope that I can have the faith that he has.

Working with international business has proven to be very successful for business graduates in the liberal arts program. One of the major benefits of liberal arts for international business is that it prepares students in understanding different cultures, times, and places from a global perspective. The global market has become incredibly competitive within the last several decades and because of that, more employers have been requesting and demanding that colleges and universities train their students to better understand the complex environments found in businesses across the world (McInnis-Bowers & Chew, 2008). In order to become knowledgeable in the global market, specific skills and qualifications need to be met.
