My task was performing the play Too fast by Douglas Maxwell in the Sackville Theatre in front of two different audiences on Wednesday 21st March.
There were two casts so we could watch and notice how the others act and take notes and interpret in our way also we had eight weeks to rehearsal, practice and develop the characters.
At the first we just read through the script then after three or four weeks the teachers said to learn all the lines so we could focus more about the blockings and scenes but if someone didn't known the lines there was the prompt copy.
During the lessons we had lots of discussions about how the characters are, what their tastes are, how they feel about on other, what are their status in a social circle.
Furthermore we

Frankie is really an interesting character, she’s been on the X-Factor so people have high expectations of her but she is not very confident and during the play she has mixed feelings: at the beginning she’s devastated however after she is angry when Marcy is talking about Jake Spence and I thought that I need to demonstrate it so Iused the Magic If technique , I stood up from the chair and made an angry voice also I think she’s angry again when she is talking about her X-Factor experience but she is sad too.
What it was easy for me though was learning all of my lines, it took me just two weeks and the method that I used was recording myself and listening on my way on the bus so it really come easy to me when I was acting plus I sincerely liked the speeches because in my opinion were mature and I could relate when its talking about how fast childhood was gone and missing it.
I enjoyed performing all the three times but Wednesday evening it was my favourite because, the first time Wednesday morning, like everyone else I was very nervous since we were performing in front of other students and I thought they will judge but in the evening we were all more relaxed since we had a break and we were performing in front of family and friends so we weren’t under much
...e cheated a script from all Shrek, Macbeth and improvisation (brain storming.) We then ran through the performance seeing if there were any glitches, mistakes or things that just don't make sense, timed the performance. We then decided that we should have music from the original film Shrek and put that into our play to add tension, (in a way.) We also figured out what costumes we were going to wear, since most of as were playing more then one character we needed easy costume changes, simple but effective!

In order to pair up some of the parts, the minimum number of players needed to be known. This will determine how many cast members had to be available not just for doubling but for staging the scene with the most roles at one time. This would be scene four in Act one. There is a minimum of twenty-two roles that need to be filled. Minimum because there are three plural roles: Spanish nobles, Trumpeters, and Attendants (Kyd, 2), which means at least two of each, and sixteen roles with individual titles. Thirty-one roles were then left to be divided amongst the cast as double parts and, in some cases, triple parts.
The acting for this play was successful in its goal. The actors were more than successful in making their characters seem credible and convincing. As each actor played their numerous amount of characters, I was convinced that each character was different and it wasn’t someone acting as someone else. I truly believed the actors were their actual characters. What benefited
Understanding concepts of this story is important to do because it allows the reader to understand how the characters in the story are exactly feeling. The first main
In the end of the novel, we see that some time has passed since that summer and Frankie now is thirteen. With the dead of a beloved, close friend-John Henry- she comes down to earth from her inner world of confusions and inquiries. She sees nothing is more serious and sudden than death and this leads her to make a stride toward the way of womanhood. She makes a new friend and starts to feel more comfortable about herself. In the end, all she needed was some human connection and to feel that her existence matters in some way.
For thousands of people in the United States, poverty is a very real life obstacle. People in poverty live pay check to pay check, and several of them rely on aids such as food stamps and welfare. Furthermore, families go hungry and can’t pay their bills, which presents them with family conflict and stress. In the game Spent, these issues are brought to our attention, and the player if faced with the dilemmas many people today face on a day to day basis in real life.
The dialogue, designed by the teacher, is taught to the whole class for understanding of the vocabulary. Once the students have reviewed their role they are given the chance to modify their dialogue themselves. While performing the teacher assess the students for comprehension and effectiveness of the role playing in English. After the student is done role playing the teacher will ask students to translate their script into their native language. The teacher will also ask comprehension questions to see if the student understand the vocabulary.
Each interaction between them is very back and forth, and watching the show can feel like watching a tennis match. The show even had to bring in a dialogue coach to get the actors to talk faster. These details make it so you are always entertained by what is going on in the scene, and can always pick up on new things every time you
While reading the book, you can observe how at a young age, they are socially
Lastly, the cast used very few props. They used a ladder, basketballs, chairs and desks. The cast also had cell phones. Whenever they would have a scene where a prop was needed that they didn’t have they would just pretend the object they needed was there. For example one of the characters pretended to take a bite out of an apple and another pretended to be going down stairs. It was hard to really enjoy this production when they were lacking this
Over the next two weeks we memorized and practiced our lines, blocked the scenes, and ran through the play many times. It is so exhilarating to work with such a wonderful and talented group of people and combine our skills to put together a performance like machine work, each person doing his or her own part in a way that keeps the entire thing thing running smoothly. With everyone cooperating properly, you can create something beautiful. Finally, at the end of the third week, after long days of pulling all the pieces together, we were ready to display our finished product to a live
In the play, all the characters understand their parts. This did a nice job of portraying their characters. For example, Monica who played Ella know her character well that she could put herself in the role of Ella. During the show, she always kept a good pace. Next is Nathan who played Topher have a good character body
I had my first dance recital on the day I turned four. Now I don’t remember anything from that day, but I believe that that day is when I learned I loved to perform. I’ve been taking dance lessons since then, and many things that I do now involve performing in some type of way.
Before I started Introduction to Theatre class, I had been only to a couple of plays in my life. Just in this semester I’ve been to about ten plays and have learned so much about the art of theatre. The information I retained from class will help out a lot in the future, but the most important part of this class was the shadowing experience of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. With being able to get an inside look at this play during rehearsal and then going to see the performance was an incredible experience. By going to the rehearsal and then seeing the show, I was able to learn and understand more on how the theatre works. From there, I could understand the long process the actors and directors have to go through before the opening show happens.
