The speech of Tony Fandell; a recognize product designer who has worked for companies like Apple, is sending a clear message about how human beings lost the capacity of noticing the common things in our daily basis. He explains how through his work can see the things that become usual for all of us, how to feel them, and try to surpass the imperfections becoming great products and ideas. In other words, when people are facing a problem or issue the first time turn into something difficult and hard to get used to, but once you have faced the same thing over a 1000 times, not only you become numb and start dealing with it, but also, that will change into an habit. Mr. Fadell gives a wonderful example, when we have to flick off those little stickers
of the fruits, at the beginning, it was something extremely annoying, but right now everybody turn out numb to it, in fact, if we grab an apple and we don’t see the sticker it’s strange. According to Mr. Fandell “But sometimes, habituation isn't good. If it stops us from noticing the problems that are around us, well, that's bad”. That means sometimes we can reach a point to live with those problems instead of fixing them. He says that is some much easier to fix something that everybody knows is not right, than something nobody noticed before. Here is the point that I think is the most important, that’s the secret of the whole history. When we start noticing all those little things in life is where brilliant ideas born, like Mr. Fandell says “invisible problems”. I think people should never lose the capacity of astonishment, because not only that's brings color to our lives, but also it help us learn new things every day. If somehow we could maintain that way of thinking as when we were kids, the world would be completely different. Stay neophyte is the way we should be, it is another way of being innovative, and why not, create wonderful things.
Have you ever thought how much research and effort a company has done to make their product appeal to you? A company will conduct surveys, record human responses to specific images, and adhere to government regulations not to mention all the different designs produced, just so that you will want to buy their product over their competitors. In Thomas Hine’s essay, What’s in a Package, Hine discusses the great length the response that a consumer should have when looking at a product’s packaging, the importance of manufactures’ marketing campaign, the importance of packages depending on the culture, then finally to why designs will change over time.

The Target Corporation prides itself on their department store roots with a constant obligation to great prices and stylish originality. The main focus of every Target store is the customer, whom the corporation refers to as a "guest", making them feel more personal. Through an analysis of his work, I plan to show that design can instead, give substance to style.
Graphic design is technically present everywhere- may it be in signage, billboards, magazines, packaging, branding, books and most especially in social media. But people often do not notice it. They don’t actually realize how much effect design has over their daily lives. The truth is, graphic design doesn’t just make something look pleasing. It actually fixes a problem and organizes information to aid in sending a message in the most impactful way possible. With today’s generation, the need to read or view images in seconds, as well as on smaller screens, graphic design plays a progressively significant part not only in creating brand awareness and recognition but also in attracting the users’ attention by evoking emotions from them.1
On October 5, 2011 Steve Jobs passed away in his home in Palo Alto California; Jobs had been battling pancreatic cancer since 2003. Steve brought so much different technological advancement that most people use everyday without knowing who created them. Everything that Jobs created, he did because he understood what his customers wanted, and where the market was going. Steve Jobs believed in all of his products and innovations he sold to people, and had faith in the people he worked with was what really shaped Apple. After leaving the company and then returning, Steve Jobs’ influence made Apple one of the top computer companies in the world.

When looking at its meager beginnings Apple’s influence on the media could only be described as unique. Their product, style, and overall beliefs make the Apple Corporation a multi-billion dollar company with a general appeal for all ages. It is getting harder and harder to be an individual, so with Apple you can “rise above the norm” and be unique. Recently, this unique corporation has taken the media by storm, with their new line of products. Right along side these new products are a full line of new commercials to go along with them. These new commercials spawned from years of creative marketing done on Apple’s part. Studying the history of Apple is necessary to understanding their influence upon us today.
One of the key ideas of the modern era was to forge the designs of the future on the corpses of the past, disregarding everything from the last era and moving forward with new ideals and styles. Refining and discarding they shaped, molded and constricted the ideas of design until reaching the pinnacle of minimalism. I honestly agree with Steve Jobs argument, if you don’t like the job your doing then don’t do it. Steve Jobs has been a good man; he went to a very expensive college (Reed College) but couldn’t afford it so he dropped out. He regretted it so he still went to the classes that amused him, but had to sleep on the floor in his friends’ dorms. Jobs have lost lots of things he liked and the big one was the job that he owned and created. I honestly think if you work as hard as he did then its worth doing the thing you love.

The money factor is a bad way of motivating the top employees. Employees need to work because they love the job and not because they are motivated by a financial reward. In order to motivate the top employees in the company, Apple needs to reward them without involving the money aspect this is because a top employee motivated to work because of a financial reward would achieve less than that working due to other motivational factors other than money in addition, the money aspect will only work for the short-term goals and not the long-term goals Apple could retain the top employees in the company in several ways firstly, apple company should offer services such as dare care services. A new product on the market may look all shiny and new and be appealing to customers but what is the story behind the product and what is the underlying future for this product. Where were the original materials from? Is it all legalised? Where did the manufacturing take place? How was the product manufactured? These are all questions that are never properly addressed in the design industry and are just simply overlooked. They are the aspects of designing and producing a new product that need to be carefully looked at to make a good design, and to make sustainable products.
