The concept for Tomb Raider originated in 1993 at Core Design, a British game development studio.[60] One of the men most involved in its creation was Toby Gard, who was mostly responsible for creating the character of Lara Croft. Gard originally envisioned her as a man: company co-founder Jeremy Heath-Smith was worried the character would be seen as derivative of Indiana Jones, so Gard changed the character's gender. Her design underwent multiple revisions and redrafts during early development.[1][57] The game proved an unexpected commercial success, reversing Eidos' then-bleak financial situation.[8] After the success of Tomb Raider, work began almost at once on a sequel. After the first game's success, Gard was no longer given full creative …show more content…
This did not work, and while a fifth game was created, the team stated that they were not fully invested in its development.[8][57] During development on the fifth game, the team split into two divisions, with one division working on the next-generation sequel The Angel of Darkness.[44] During this period, multiple handheld titles were also developed by both Core Design and third-party developers.[5][13] The production of The Angel of Darkness was beset by problems from an early stage, with the team wanting to create a grander game to compete with contemporary action-adventure games.[44] Under pressure from Eidos, key sections of the game needed to be cut, and it was released before the team felt it was ready.[44][57] The game received negative reactions from both fans and critics, and was cited by Paramount as the reason for the second Tomb Raider film …show more content…
Alongside Underworld, the team decided to create a new subseries that featured the character of Lara Croft while not using the Tomb Raider moniker and using the aesthetics of the Legend continuity.[41] During this period, a second development team was working on a second reboot of the series and character, which would put emphasis on a darker and gritter interpretation of the character.[47][85] Another priority was presenting Lara as a more human character, showing her in vulnerable positions, and showing how she begins her journey to becoming a "tomb raider" through both narrative and gameplay.[86] A sequel, eventually revealed as Rise of the Tomb Raider, was confirmed as being in development a few months after the reboot's release.[31][87] In response to criticisms about a lack of classic tombs, more optional and story-based tombs were incorporated into the game.[88] It also continued the team's new portrayal of Lara, showing more sides to her character and her growing obsession with discovering the truth.[51] In addition to this, the Lara Croft subseries was continued in multiple titles: the console game Temple of Osiris, and mobile title Relic Run.[43][89] In addition, the mobile puzzle game Lara Croft Go was created to both give a different gameplay experience and evoke classic Tomb Raider
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege started to be developed by Ubisoft in January 2013 just before they cancelled the release of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Patriots in May 2013.
Call of duty black ops 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, the game was first released in November of 2012 and is a sequel to the 2010 game call of duty black ops. Black ops 2 was the first call of duty to bring the franchise into future warfare and first to offer player choice with branching storylines.
So we get many things in the game. And like Black Ops 2 was a shooting game. It was the #1 game back then. But Fortnite came out and took over all the games. I think the old game back then were better because they look nice and there are a lot of fun.
With Halo 3 complete, Bungie - a company that started with just 3 programmers, an artist and a level designer - split it's now 130-person strong development team into two groups. One group worked on Halo 3: ODST, while the other started work on a project that would eventually become Reach. Headed by creative director Marcus Lehto, originally the art director on Halo 1 through 3, the team brainstormed ideas until they hit upon doing a prequel that takes place before the first game, Halo: Combat Evolved. According to Lehto, "Reach, as a fictional planet, was just a great candidate to play around with. It's such a rich world, with such a great fiction surrounding it."
Street Fighter’s popularity and success was great, and after releasing Street Fighter II ––where Chun Li (Figure 1) made her first appearance–– it was even greater. Mortal Kombat was not as popular as Street Fighter and their creation of the second Mortal Kombat with the addition of a playable female character Kitana (Figure 2), was greatly influenced by Chun Li (Figure 1). Kitana’s (Figure 2) creation with such influence from Chun Li (Figure 2) was probably to also bring the influence of a successful video game. By creating a similar character as Chun Li (Figure 1) it also gave interest to the Street Fighter fans. In adopting this influence, NetherRealm Studios accepted that the female addition to the fighting game was a smart idea and that the Asian fighting video games had became a success.

“SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!” What was that? It’s Levi Coffin and his family dancing and quaking the church! He was a very important figure in the time of slavery because of his role in the Underground Railroad. Levi was a Quaker, station master of the Underground Railroad, and an American Abolitionist. Levi Coffin had an ordinary early life, found a secret route to the Underground Railroad under his house after he had moved with his wife, and saved thousands of slaves through their journey to Canada.
‘…the characters’ strength was a direct result of their necessary stoicism in the face of so much hostility.’ Discuss the role of women in Burial Rites.
A misplaced shot to the head by a mysterious man in a checkered suit and a quick burial in a shallow grave kicks off the next chapter in Bethesda’s juggernaut series: Fallout: New Vegas. While New Vegas is more expansive and jam packed than any other Fallout game to date, “this game still feels like a huge, awesome expansion” (Steimer) to the game’s predecessor. The setting takes place in a massive west coast wasteland littered with gangs, death, and ravenous creatures contesting the rebuilt ruins of Las Vegas, renamed to New Vegas after the nuclear war with China, as the wastelands marvelous centerpiece. To complete all quests, missions, and adventures in the game, “expect to rack up a total of around 100 hours.” (Steimer).
The African Burial Ground National Monument and Museum (NPS) is New York’s earliest known African American cemetery, which dates back to 1626. The burial ground was in-active use from 1626 to 1794. The African Burial Ground was the setting for thousands of funerals during the time period. The families that would lay their loved ones to rest would do so with dignity and respect in a ceremony that was rich in traditions. These ceremonies would weave together traditions from their African homeland and new Christian traditions. The site contains the remains of 419 African American men, women and children in what was the largest colonial-era cemetery for free and enslaved Africans. The burial ground was closed in the 1790s, and was later divided into different sections to be put up for sale. The site was then covered with numerous layers of building developments until it was rediscovered in 1991. All other burial sites had already been destroyed over the years by the construction of other buildings. In 1993, the site was designated a National Historic Landmark and it was declared a National Monument in 2006.
This paper examines a National Geographic news article pertaining to the history of First Americans called, “On way to New World, First Americans Made a-10,000 Year Pit Stop”. The First Americans may have stayed on the Bering Land Bridge after separating from Siberia, which would explain a few things about the genetic variances between the two groups. Why do researches believe first Americans lived on the Bering Land Bridge? Are the reasons to believe in this justified? This paper attempts to answer such questions.

They know that even if the newly released gets mauled by critics (which they aren’t, most likely due to bribery), the game will still sell tremendously well just because of the title itself, and people will still play it, because it is CoD. Each of these games produced have no room to improve on previous flaws. Instead, Infinity Ward and Treyarch only have enough time to take what they already created and lightly paint over it. One example would be its god awful engine which has not changed in almost seven years. Physics literally do not exist in their engine. Heck, even the next-gen installment looks little different from the one on the previous generation of consoles.

...ter this release, Call of Duty: Ghosts surpassed $1 billion dollars in sales within the first day alone. This was a huge success and surprise considering the older version of Call of Duty did not raise $1 billion dollars in sales until the 15th day after it's release.
