Finally, the main thing that I have learned about myself this year is that I am responsible. Last year, the only responsibility I had was going to school. However, this year I have more responsibilities. The responsibilities I had this year interfered my ability to complete my school assignments. Fortunately, I was able to work my way around it without any complications. My after school responsibilities I had to complete on a daily basis, was reporting to yearbook on Thursdays and tutoring my friend. Every Thursday, I report to yearbook after school until three o'clock. My only job was to tag people in photos and to help out with other tasks. Attending yearbook sometimes interfered with school work because sometimes I had to complete
the production of my school’s newspaper; lastly, I helped make posters for a medical camp for
...ademic hardships. Even though I lost so much during junior year, I was unaware of the fact that secretly I was actually gaining a great deal of life experiences and real-life lessons for the future. Quite honestly I feel lucky. I feel lucky that I matured early in life; with this new maturity I feel I can accomplish anything. I feel I can make a positive difference in this world. I feel like this experience will be the primary step in my success, in terms of my career, and in the launch of my Children in Need campaigns in third world countries. I feel like the young superman who just learned how to fly, slightly aware of his magnificent impact towards the world. In short, I feel junior year provided foundation for the more mature and adult chapters of my life, and without the numerous obstacles of junior year, I would never gained the key to a successful future.
Finally, I learned how to be more responsible by myself. In my last classes, my teachers were technically always there to tell me step by step what to do and how to do my assignments. In a certain way, it made me kind of lazy and entirely dependent of my teachers. However in this course it was not like that; instead, my instructor just gave me the assignments, instructions, and deadlines, and I must write my essays and summited it on time. This absence of guide absolutely made me to react that it was time to me to do my assignments by myself, demonstrate what I know, and ask for help just whenever it is
In the beginning of the school year my yearbook staff would always spend the first few days and sit down together as a whole and talk about interesting stories we could write about that involved
To prepare for this paper, I took personality and academic tests. I listened to lectures, and researched papers. The purpose of this paper is to get to know myself and familiarize myself with the jobs that suit me. “There are no good or bad personalities. There are positive and negative traits of each personality. Positive traits carried to the extreme become negative traits.” (McConnell)
So far this year, I felt pretty satisfied with my progress this semester. I feel like I am slowly adapting to the new way papers and assignments are handled. All my college work depends solely on me now. No one is going to baby me anymore and whether I succeed or fail depends on how much effort I put into something. For the first time in my life I wrote a paper. Not just a five paragraph essay but actual pages, which is extremely challenging. It’s also been my first time studying for five hours straight so I can pass an actual test. I didn’t know I possessed this level of dedication, it’s probably because it isn’t free.
During this year I learned who my real friends are. I had to cut a lot of people out of my life. It was hard but worth it. I did nothing wrong and they would blame me for things. You want people in your life who push you to do your best everyday and I had some friends who would just tear me down.
I can remember sitting in class, feeling eyes burning through me, dodging inquisitive glances from all sides, and anxiously awaiting the bell to ring for lunchtime. As most people know, lunch is the most dreaded part of the first day at a new school. First day of school memories are still fairly vivid for me; my father was in the JAG corps in the Army and my family moved with biannual regularity. In fact, I even attended three different high schools. While this may seem highly undesirable to some, I learned an incredible amount about myself, the world, and other people through moving that I may never have learned otherwise. What I have learned about myself and the world will without a doubt contribute to my success in life and even law school, but what I have learned about other people is of greatest relevance to studying and practicing law.
As a sophomore I have grown more as a student and a global citizen this second semester. I have gained more knowledge and have investigated the world even more than before. I have gained more knowledge in Science, but specifically more in Environmental Science. In Environmental Scince I was able to go on a cruise and do a hands on experiment that had to do with the marine ecosystem. This year I have also been able to investigate the world, more in AP European history and have learned about the Holocaust and how it all led up to it.
These three lessons were the most significant things I’ve learned while attending school. From kindergarten rules all the way to beginning the road to finding myself. Spending more than half of my life in school I’ve dealt with failure, achievement, and everything in between. I’ve learned great life-lessons that have impacted me greatly not just for the time being, but
I recollect in ninth grade thinking that it'd be so cool to be on yearbook. Yearbook students knew which classes everybody was in, they knew which kids were into what extracurricular, and maybe above all, they knew everybody at school. From green beans to seniors to personnel,
thought I was joking when I said that I was going to do it. Maybe I was.
I was able to overcome many problems and challenge myself in different aspects. At the very beginning of the year, I was very sensitive and having a bad experience meant a bad life to me. Later on, I started to realize what I am doing in school, and why I am here… I understood that life without ups and downs means you're died.
Upon reading the essay prompt, I took a few moments to introspect. I thought back to every experience that helped mold me into the person I am today. As human beings, we are influenced by many aspects of our surroundings. Even as children, we develop certain attributes through observation, or through conditioning by our parents. These attributes may not be always positive, but the combination of both positive and negative qualities form the people we are today. No one is perfect; nevertheless, some are fortunate enough to have their strengths outweigh their weaknesses. I believe I am one of those lucky people.
There are numerous lessons that I have learned from life, they were lessons that I learned from good and bad experiences in life. Different experiences from school and out of school that has made me the way I am today. There is a long list of experiences that in reality did not teach me much.
