How a person deals with conflict not only shows how they are as a person, but also shows whether they are negative or positive about things that happen in their life. People who are negative when it comes to conflict usually will have a bad, negative attitude about them, they most of the time try to be nice and sweet to everyone though. People who are positive when it comes to conflict are always happy and nice, when they are mad about something they are still smiling and happy. There are people who are really negative when it comes to conflict. They want nothing to do with it so when it does happen they let out all their negativity and anger at once. An example is man versus self. In the book Things Fall Apart Okonkwo has a man versus self conflict. He is dealing with the death of Ikemefuna and what makes it worse is the fact that he killed him himself. He feels so bad that he doesn’t eat or drink for three days. He dealt with his conflict negatively because instead of starving himself he should have been trying to rekindle his relationship with Nwoye. These people are really good at handling stress and confusion. I come across conflicts all the time with school work. Some nights I have English, World History, Algebra, and Chemistry; but I stay up late to finish all my work and reading. Sometimes I don’t get everything done, I try but it’s just how it ends up. I know for sure that all my hard work and staying positive when I have a lot of homework pays off with good grades. Having good grades is a success of my conflict of having a stack of homework every night. Some weekends I have to do it all within a little time because I go up to Paragould to work on my new house.
