I believe that I should be the student of the year for several reasons. I have been an honors student my whole life having an easy time in almost all my classes. I am also involved in many school and school-related activities to further my education and help the community. Also, I am a hard worker. For these reasons, I believe I should be the student of the year. To talk more about my schooling I take my education very seriously. My grades are very important to me and good grades make me feel very good about myself. I am an A student and received distinguished honors all throughout middle school. I have always turned my work with time to spare. I always try my hardest and every assignment even if it is not graded. I make sure I know the content and help my classmates when they are confused. I consider an education very important and if I put in the effort now I know it will pay off later. …show more content…
The school-related activities I do are X-Stem and band. I come to all the X-Stem events and volunteer to help run them. I am very involved in band, I went to county and state Solo & Ensemble getting a superior rating for both and got accepted into the all-county band this year too. Other out of school activities I do are include camps such as UCSCA which a camp of the arts I go for the band and have fun on the campus which we live on for a week learning a lot with other students. Another education activity I do is eCYBERMISSION which is an organization that encourages young creative minds to grow. In eCYBERMISSION, we create inventions and to experiments that will solve a problem in our community. We won eCYBERMISSION for 6th grade and we are still competing this year. Recently I have been accepted into NJHS and will begin my work this

I believe that I am the best choice for the AVID Standout Award because I am a hard worker, a leader, and I give back to the community. I have always been a student that doesn't give up when they are struggling and wants to keep learning. I personally believe that a good education is the first priority of any human being because education has brought us where we are today in the world.
To start, I believe that I should be accepted because I love helping out in my school, but I would love to help out even more. I’d be very happy if I got in because to me that would give me
People say high school is supposed to be the golden years of your life. I don’t know what else in life is to come; however, my philosophy is to live in the moment and make the life you’re living in the present worthwhile into the future, not only for you but for those who surround you. I live my life participating in our community and getting involved in our school. The activities, and the people I’ve formed relationships with, are what have formed me into the person I have become today. The person I am today is not perfect, but I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made. I think the sense of maturity I have developed throughout my life has given me the determination to be the best person I can be. That being said, I would love to be inducted into the National Honor Society and not only represent our school, but represent our generation to the community not as a “selfie” generation but as a generation, with great potential.
What makes an Outstanding Senior, outstanding? I have been nominated as an Outstanding Senior because I have not only excelled in my academic achievements and have positively contributed to the scholastic atmosphere through enthusiastic participation of various activities, but also because I have demonstrated exemplary citizenship.
The second activity I engage in, is Music Council. In September of 2014 I founded the first Music Council in my school and have served as President since. I organize and lead meetings, events and fundraisers. I also perform (sing) in many of these events. As President I am the liaison between Music Council and the rest of the school and community. The club has been a success thus far and the has gained school wide recognition and participation, which has been a
I, Hope Turnbull, am a Senior of Stockton High School in Stockton Kansas. My plans consist of attending North Central Kansas Technical College starting Fall 2016, where I want to begin my study of nursing. Due to me having all of my general education courses finished upon my college arrival, I have been accepted into the first year Nursing Program (LPN). I believe that I deserve this scholarship due to me excelling in my education at a very young age. My grades are earned as A’s and B’s in school.
I was told that being recognized by the school board was a great accomplishment for the school; it enabled the school to receive more funding for repairs, and clubs, etcetera. Competing was not only amazing for myself, but it helped those around me as well, and I couldn’t have asked for a better senior year. Russell Mark once said, “Competing at the highest level is the greatest test of one's character.” That being said, I do agree with his quote; people do show that there is a different side of themselves when
In the 6th grade, I took part in an after school class, in which I not only increased our knowledge by going to museums and art galleries but also did everything we could to make our school of higher quality. I built bikes whose designated purpose was for the kids in our school to use, painted picnic tables for our school, and much more. If accepted to the Kealing Magnet Program, I can guarantee that I will assist in creating a greater environment. I love helping my community, and I will never pass up a chance to make it cleaner and more desirable.
I should be inducted into National Honor Society because I have proven that I am a dedicated, scholarly student. My GPA shows that I am determined to succeed both in school and in life. I feel that I am an incredibly hard worker and I believe that education is important and desrves to be a top priority. If inducted, I will represent the Jean Baptiste Recollect branch of National Honor Society very well. National Honor Society should induct me into the Jean Baptiste Recollect branch becasue I am hard working, dedicated, and determined to have success.
I deserve to win the $1,000 Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship because I will change lives with its help. I plan to become an early childhood educator and will continue with school until I become just that. I believe that with the help of this scholarship, I will help many children reach goals that are just as significant as my own. Also, I will be able to set an example for children who may have not come from financially stable homes, and show that anything is possible if you put forth the effort. My parents are divorced and I have been evicted from 2 homes in the past three years; however that has not stopped me from getting my high school diploma and setting further goals for myself.
If I do not use my time wisely, work can get behind and suffer. I am responsible for keeping paperwork up to date, sending out contracts, verifying information from families among other things. I take pride in working “smarter not harder” by being organized and proficient, this allows me to get more done in a day. This skill is going to be key to my success in school. I will use my time management balance work, school and home life being successful in all fields.
I believe that I am the best candidate for 9th grade honors classes in the Hillsborough High School. To begin, I am a respecting, and honorable person. When a student or teacher asks me to do something for them, I will always live up to it. I also rarely miss out on doing my homework. School is too important to be to not do great in a class because of homework.
By studying in Japan, I hope to expand my knowledge of a culture that personally interests me, but to which I have had extremely limited exposure. Additionally, I hope to serve as an ambassador for America’s diverse racial makeup.
