Let me be frank, I would not have chosen a degree in Drama if I was not passionate about it. Theatre and acting are what I want to dedicate my life to and I have already dedicated five years of my life to theatre. Theatre is what I grew up with. My first cd that I owned was a collection of songs from musicals for kids. I was six. I was always putting on little plays for my mom and stealing the video camera so I could record them. However, I was not one of those kids in children’s theatre. I never went to a theatre summer camp. I grew up wanting to be a veterinarian; a very practical profession. Being an actress was what I always imagined being but my childhood self thought the idea was too far fetched and impractical. I continued to think in this sensible manner until I saw the Broadway sensation “Wicked.” …show more content…

Most people go to plays or musicals and leave having enjoyed the plot or the characters. I left to that show deciding which character I could one day perform as on stage. It was Elphaba in case you're curious. That night I saw “Wicked” was the night that I knew acting is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. A year later I started High School and got to take my first acting class. Theatre absolutely became my life in High School. I auditioned for every play, and even when I was not cast I worked behind the scenes. I joined Thespian club and eventually became the Clerk.
