There has been quite a bit of controversy concerning the real effect video games are having on teenagers. Numerous studies have been done to show both positive effects, as well as negative effects on the rising generation. Furthermore, the increased sales of smartphones and, in effect, apps or video games on your phone, have led to an increased use of games. This in turn, has raised the level of force that these video games have. However, some say this increased power video games have is good, others say they are bad. It is all a matter of perspective, and how someone looks at it. Although most everybody swings one way or another, many can agree that, albeit video games may or may not be bad, the overuse of these games can be, and is, a major force in the world.
Some people argue that the power in which video games have acquired, are contributing to an increasingly safe and more friendly atmosphere in the United States. Many believe that because of video games, teens now have a safe outlet for their anger. Furthermore, the argument that video games are not bad for your health is also a claim many are making towards the positive effect on teens. Many studies have been done regarding the physical effects of video games on the human mind and body. These and many more arguments all have credible evidence to back it up.
The above views all make sense in their own way. The claim that videogames are contributing to safer environment, makes a lot of sense seeing how teens can vent their anger on computer generated beings without hurting anyone in the tangible world. In fact, sales of video games had more than quadrupled in 1995-2008, while the arrest rate for juvenile murders fell 71.9%, and the arrest rate for all juvenile violent cr...

Now a day every video game has something violent going on. Such as in 2010 the top 20 games out in the market were violent related. When a kid sees in a video game that he can beat someone else up and get away with it they think they can do that in real life. This will increase bullying and kids are being taught not to bully. Every kid plays video games even if it’s a racing game or a shooting game. In 2008, 97% of kids from the age of 12-17 played video games. Most M rated games have sexual violence and when a kid sees that in a game and then beats the girl up. The crime rate for rape will increase as it has. A study in 2009 found that it only takes a child four minutes of playing a game to make him have aggressive and violent thoughts going through his head. The critics of violent video game has that bully has increase 32% because of violent video games. Also in the study when a child sees blood when beating up or killing someone in a game he will have more aggressive thoughts than normal.

Did you know playing video games helps children with their education? A good video game will teach problem solving, math, history, or anything else a parent wants their children to learn. Children that play video games are more educational than those that do not play video games. In this paper you will experience the positive and negative impact video games have on children and teens.
Although violent video games are thought to encourage real world violence, they actually help to prevent it. I am focusing on violent video games and how they affect juveniles because I feel that this issue needs to be looked at in the criminal justice community. It is an unnecessary distraction to blame the actions of a disturbed youth on a form of entertainment that has been used by millions of people without incident. A review article published in The Psychiatric Quarterly found that many studies which claim to indicate an increase in aggression due to video games are, in fact, biased! Once the bias is taken into account, the studies no longer find any correlation between youths who play violent video games and youths who demonstrate aggression and violent behavior.
Tommy scuffles through the front door, drops his book bag on the floor and plops down on the couch with a scowl across his face. As his PlayStation fires to life, he replays scenes from the day in his head of being shoved into the lockers by Billy, unable to form the words to impress Sussie, and sitting alone at lunch listening to the popular kids laugh and joke, ignoring him as if he did not exist. No one understands him. No one cares about him, because he is not strong, charming, or popular. All that is soon avoided as Tommy dives into a world where he controls everything and everyone either fears or loves him. If he fails, all he must do is reset. Here he can be anything he wants, and he can do and have it all.

There have been so many experiments and studies to try and figure out if video games have a negative or positive effect on our children. A growing body of research is linking violent video game play to aggressive cognitive, attitudes and behaviors (D.A. Gentile, 2004). The 'Path of the 'Path of the 'Path of the 'Path of the 'Path of the 'Path of the 'Path of the 'Path of Video games can obviously be dangerous for our children, causing aggression, bad performances in school and obesity. Although we cant blame all of these problems on the use of video games, there have been many studies to prove so.... ...
This is a controversial topic and most people have an opinion going on either sides of the issue. Most researchers and scientists would agree that there is some connection between violence found in games and other social media, and the violence caused by playing or using games and other social media. Through the research and evidence gathered it can be said that video games can have negative effects in many adolescent's lives due to them being desensitized to violence, poorer physical health, and social interaction being decreased. Some of the negative effects include increased aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, decreased prosocial behavior, and wrong values being learned through games.
The amount of time video games played in a period a day can cause health issues as well, not eating right, dehydration, sleep deprivation, aggression, etc. While some games have educational content, many of the most popular games emphasize negative themes that could promote the killing of people or animals, the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol, criminal behavior, disrespect for authority and the law, sexual exploitation and violence toward women, racial, sexual, and foul language and obscene gestures. (XXXX) An excessive amount of playing can lead to addiction and degrade in social behavior. Research done by Bushman says, “violent video games decrease pro-social behavior, such as helping or cooperating with others, and decrease feelings of empathy and compassion for others.”
Why Video Games Are Beneficial For Children Nowadays as many as 97% of all US kids aged 12 to 17 are playing video games, and contributing to the $21.53 billion domestic video game industry (1). It is even almost certain that whoever is reading this, has played a video game sometime in their life. This is causing some parents and doctors to worry about the health of young kids because the general stigma is that the violence in video games is bad for kids and detrimental to your health . However video games are actually beneficial for children because of their social, mental and physical benefits.
In recent years, technology has developed very rapidly. This has led to many arguably both positive and negative changes in our everyday lives. One such change was the increased accessibility of personal computers and gaming consoles as well as the introduction of numerous video games. Due to their entertainment value, these games gained popularity among children and teenagers. Although many concerns have been voiced related to playing video games, especially those that are violent, [e.g., increases in aggressive behavior in children (Anderson & Bushman, 2001)], this paper will argue that certain video games also have beneficial effects. They should thus be played by children, teenagers and adults alike albeit with caution.
Violent video games are special games, which negatively influences to the attitude and behavior. These video games are popular between children and teenagers. Since 1980-s years violent games are in political discussion. Because when teenagers usually play violent video games, they are becoming aggressive and then they face with psychological problems. For this, some people claim that violent games are harmful for society and they affect to behavior and health.
