When The Council of Magical Creatures had a meeting, they decided to send the last four unicorns into hiding. They would be hidden among the humans to protect them from the evil wizard. The unicorns would be sent to Earth and Marshmallowland, a little rainbow shaped planet behind Pluto, would be destroyed. The Council thought their plan was brilliant and the unicorns would be safe, but they were wrong. 3 days later... KABOOM! The explosion of Marshmallowland shook the spaceship. As the unicorns looked out the window, all they could see was an arc of glitter where their home once was. The four unicorns began to cry, their tears of mini cupcakes began to fill the ship and it slowly veered off course. The Council tried for hours to redirect
the ship, but to no avail. The spaceship kept drifting farther and farther away from help. The unicorns did not realize there was something wrong with the ship as they feasted on a dinner of cotton candy. The bad wizard saw this through his magic 8-ball and sprung into action. He created a device to take the unicorns power for himself. The evil wizard was a man with only thoughts to do bad and hurt others. The magic machine would steal the unicorns love, happiness, and glitter which would then be transformed into dark magic to fuel the evil wizard’s wicked soul. He took his raven and started hauling his equipment into The Ship of Nightmares. The evil wizard would be patient, he was willing to do whatever it took to capture the four fluffy unicorns.
The Underdogs is an amazing book about kids overcoming many challenges during their football season. Will Tyler, one of the best running backs for his age, is truly passionate about football. This is only one example of the many conflicts that Will Tyler overcomes.

In one, a specimen-creating brute robs a pelican child’s life and her guardian trying to bring her back to life. In the other, a prince learns the value of his frog-turned-princess and sets out on a quest to find her. Joy Williams’s Baba Iaga and the Pelican Child and Alexander Afanasev’s The Frog Princess are both critical facets of the fairy tale genre. While initially it may seem that Williams preserved no elements from Afanasev’s tale, upon a closer glance, it is evident that the two tales’ similarities outnumber their differences. By incorporating a generous portion of the original story into his, Williams’s version brings forth an innovative arrangement of classic and new. As a result, William’s tale introduces features to the tale that mirror everyday life lessons while simultaneously maintaining qualities that are reflective of the definitional aspects of the fairy tale genre.

When individuals face obstacles in life, there is often two ways to respond to those hardships: some people choose to escape from the reality and live in an illusive world. Others choose to fight against the adversities and find a solution to solve the problems. These two ways may lead the individuals to a whole new perception. Those people who decide to escape may find themselves trapped into a worse or even disastrous situation and eventually lose all of their perceptions and hops to the world, and those who choose to fight against the obstacles may find themselves a good solution to the tragic world and turn their hopelessness into hopes. Margaret Laurence in her short story Horses of the Night discusses the idea of how individual’s responses
As we look back on the history of fairy tales, we find that they are stories passed down to generations through the oral tradition that generally include a moral or pervading theme that is meant to aid the listener. One characteristic of oral stories are the variations that often occurred with each retelling as a result of errors in translation and interpretations, as well as changes driven by the storyteller’s desire to share a particular point of view with the listener. A modern twist on these variations is evident in children’s literature today. “The Sisters Grimm”, a popular series written by best-selling author Michael Buckley, offers a whole new dimension of changes to classic fairy tales as he reinvents the stories by adding depth, meaning, and humanity to many of the popular characters. Over the course of this paper, I will examine those changes and how they compare to the original Brothers Grimm version.
Mythology is known as a collection of myths, mainly belonging to a specific religion or cultural tradition. Mythology is known worldwide and is passed down, usually orally, to the youth. I am an agent for the Fairy Tail Guild. That means that I have the authority to make decisions for the guild when the master is gone. Right now the master is gone at a meeting so I am in charge, and I think I am doing an exceptional job. The last agent was evicted because when we needed to send a precise number of wizards in the guild to the magic council, he didn't acknowledge the ones on jobs and the guild was on probation for a month.
African-American writers were African in foundation but contributed their beautiful written works to America. African-American literary works are considered African-American Literature, which mainly centers around the subject of slavery and the fight for freedom. While there is a differentiation among African-American literature and Post-colonial literary works, both tend to be influenced by colonial countries. The past brings to mind the cruelties of colonization and slavery from the written works of African-American writers. In later years to come, African-Americans were triumphant in promoting their literary works in America after the American civil war. African-American Literature is a literature that generally highlights black people, their traditions and history. Poetry, songs, and folktales were all used to ta
The name “Earth” has not been used in 50 years. The year is 3024, and what once was Earth is now Unicornlandia, a world ruled by Unicorns and girls. Males are banned from this utopia, so they have inhabited Jupiter. Women, who are now more empowered than ever since men left, created a way to produce Unicorns freely, using artificial materials that they created. The women also figured out a way to make artificial sperms so the world can repopulate after males were banned. Nobody speaks of men, in fears of bringing them back somehow. It was a wonderful and perfect world to all the women and girls, who now don’t have to confine to society’s standards, since there is no society that judges them. Aliens and extraterrestrials often come down to
Stephanie Hanes says that Disney Princesses are creating unhealthy body issues and sexualizing little girls. Over the years younger and younger girls become sexual or want to be sexy.

There was once a young girl –around 16– her name was Rapunzel. She was taken away from her mother before she was old enough to remember what she looked like. She grew up in a tall apartment complex all the way at the top floor, with a mother who she thought was her birth mother. Rapunzel wanted to leave the apartment and make friends, but her mother wouldn’t let her leave; she warned her that people were mean outside of their ‘happy’ home. She was sad that she was not allowed to leave her home, and she got very tired of seeing the same walls everyday. She got tired of having the same monotonous routine that she felt was embedded into her skull. She felt like she resembled a robot in many ways; she wasn’t allowed to have her own opinions, and she never found any more
‘Happily ever after’ is a common ending for the happy-go-lucky fairy tales of today. However, if someone digs into the more mysterious stories of the past, they will find something far darker than the Disney princesses. The Grimm Brothers wrote their collection of fairy tales to entertain children, but there are some stories that are way more dangerous than some would expect. Rapunzel is one of those black fairy tales in which the meaning goes down into a well of shady thoughts. Overall, many fairy tales have been a success in modern times, thanks to Disney. However, Disney took the deep-rooted versions of many fairy tales and turned them into something completely different, so the originals aren’t widely known. From its humble beginnings,
Peoples’ views of what the perfect society would look like have changed because of a few cultures in history. This “perfect society”, also called a utopia, can be found within many different religions, mythologies, cultures, and more. These change us to think differently about what we would call perfect. For example, everyone works together, everyone for themselves, isolation from the rest of the world, and so on. A few generalizations have been made about utopias. “Man strives to create his own personal and societal utopia.” “Man has been searching for or trying to create a utopian society since time began.” “Man corrupts his utopia after finding it or creating it.” “Dreams, memories, nature, emotions, and time help shape man’s ideas regarding utopia.” “Individuality may be lost I man’s quest for utopia.” These apply to most, if not all utopian situations throughout fictional societies and history.
