There is a book and movie called The Thief Lord, the film was based on a book that Cornelia Funke wrote. "The Thief Lord" is a novel written by Cornelia Funke, about a group of orphans in Venice who are being taken care of by The Thief Lord. I think that the movie and book of The Thief Lord are similar to each other. This is the reason that the movie and book of The Thief Lord are alike. The first reason the book and movie are alike is because Scipio went on the rollercoaster and became a grownup. This text states, “Scipio jumped onto the platform and leaped onto the lion’s back.” and “Don't look at me like that." The stranger laughed self-consciously. He seemed strangely familiar to Prosper. He looked like a younger version of Scipio's father. Only the smile was different, very different. Scipio reached out — how long his arms had become — and gave Prosper a bear hug.” The first quote shows how Scipio jumped on the merry-go-round and the second one shows how Scipio turned into a grownup, and we know that because it describes how his appearance changed to an older one, which also happened in the movie of this book. That is one of two reasons I think the movie and book are alike. …show more content…
The next reason the book and movie are alike is because the setting of the whole story takes place in both the book and movie. This text states, “Prosper's quite capable of talking his brother into any foolish scheme, and everything we have found out so far indicates that he has brought him here, to Venice." (pg. 7. In the movie, we know it from clues such as the canals or times they’ve mentioned it. This quote shows that while Esther talks to Victor, she mentions that Prosper and Bo traveled to Venice. This can help us know that the rest of the setting in the story is in Venice, which is also what happened in the movie. That is the final reason I think the movie and book of The Thief Lord are
Elie and Liesel live and survive during the time of World War II. Both characters face the harsh reality of the terrible period of time they are living in. The memoir, Night and the movie, “The Book Thief” share similarities and dissimilarities that make Elie and Liesel both stand out. Due to the loss of family, determination to live, and fear helps both of them survive the war, but depends on the different reactions, mistreated for different reasons, and hope.
The book and movie have the same main characters playing the same roles. Cyrano is charming, poetic, and witty with a huge nose in both the book and the movie. Women love Cyrano as a friend but nothing more. In the book, Cyrano is a famous sword fighter who fights people. In the movie, Cyrano is the fire chief who fights fire. Cyrano is Roxanne's distant cousin in the book, but in the movie, they meet when they are adults and are friends. Christian works for Cyrano in both the movie and book. Christian is handsome but not very smart. C...
The movie switches the roles of the cyclopes and the hero so that the movie has its own version of this event and so its not exactly like The Oddyssey. Everett and his crew also face a version of the Seirenes. The movie introduces the Seirenes when Pete gets out of the car because he hears this beautiful song that he cannot resist. are very similar, but the movie portrays the book in a unique, interesting way. The movie has most of the characters the book has, but some of the characters do their part in a different way in the movie, that is what makes this new way of the book interesting.
The movie and the story had some of the same characters but some weren't exactly the same. The movie introduced many different characters and changed some of the others. For example, the movie had the plant lady and had the mentor of Anderton as the founders of Precrime while in the book, Anderton was the only founder of Precrime. Also, Witwer wasn't blond he had black hair and Kapler wasn't named Kapler he was named Crow. In the story they had the red head Fleming who did not exist
There are many differences and similarities in the short story of “A Sound of Thunder” and the movie.
The book Hoot and the movie Hoot are very alike and very different. Some people like them both but some people only like one, or neither.
Has your skin ever tasted the scorching coldness to the point of actually flavoring death, has your stomach ever craved for even a gram of anything that can keep you alive, has your deep-down core ever been so disturbed by profound fear? No never, because the deep-freeze, starvation, and horror that Kolya and Lev experienced were far worse to the point of trauma. In the novel, City Of Thieves, author David Benioff describes the devastating and surreal situations and emotions that occurred to Benioff’s grandfather, Lev and Lev’s friend, Kolya, during WWII the Siege of Leningrad in Leningrad, Russia. Both Lev and Kolya share some similarities such as their knowledge of literature; even so, they are very contrastive individuals who oppose
A Comparison A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury and The Star by H.G. Wells
No story is entirely original. Authors, playwrights, and songwriters all pick and choose elements from stories regardless of whether they intend to or not. Some stories mirror those of the past more similarly than others while adding a fresh, new twist. The Disney movie The Lion King contains many similarities to Shakespeare's play Hamlet, some of which are more obvious than others. Similarities in the character complexes of the three hyenas and Polonius's family, betrayal from Scar and Claudius, and the kingdoms deterioration and resolution are a few examples of the likenesses of the movie and play.
Since both the movie and the book focus on that one line, they are both more similar than different.
Everyone is obviously different, but the personal qualities of a person and external situations that are occurring in the world around them can create similarities between people who have vast differences. In The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, this idea is very clearly shown through the lives of Liesel and Max. Although they come from vastly different backgrounds, the situations around them and their personal qualities reveal similarities between their lives. In The Book Thief, Max and Liesel’s lives have much in common, such as their love of literature and the impact on their lives as a result of Nazi persecution. However, they also differ in many aspects of their lives such as the degree of freedom that they were able to exercise and their attitudes toward life.
In The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, beauty and brutality is seen in many of the characters. Rudy, Liesel, and Rosa display examples of beauty and brutality often without realizing what exactly they are doing, because it is a part of their human nature. Zusak not only uses his characters, but also the setting of the novel in Nazi Germany to allude to his theme of the beauty and brutality of human nature. The time in which the novel is set, during World War II, displays great examples of beauty and brutality, such as the mistreatment of the Jews. As a result of this time period, the characters have to go through troubling times, which reveals their beautiful and brutal nature in certain circumstances. Zusak uses his characters and their experiences to demonstrate the theme of the beauty and brutality of human nature in the novel.
Every quality classic novel is made into a cheesy rendition that everyone dismisses as horrible. But that might not always no be the truth, especially when comparing the book The Hound of the Baskervilles and the movie version of it. Both the book The Hound of the Baskervilles and the movie adaptation of it are very different yet very similar in more ways than one. They both use the same story and plot line, but they diverge and portray events in easily identifiable ways. The book was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - a brilliant author who wrote all of the other Sherlock Holmes mysteries.
“The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupery is a story both told in writing and in screen. The story and the movies are very similar in the way that they tell the story but very different in regards of how the story is given to the readers and watchers. The differences in the stories where minuet but they were still present.
The movie and play both highlight that. I will highlight some of those similarities and differences between the book and the movie. The movie and book are quite similar. There are more similarities than differences between the two, here are a few.
