Pyramid of Sports and Activities I believe in many things such as kindness, sports, etc. But out of all the things I believe in I would say I believe in the pyramid of sports and activities the most. If you don’t have fundamentals in those activities you could end up having to give up. Competitive activities are built like a pyramid and if you lose the base then the whole pyramid will fall apart and the game or activity will be not be as amusing. People always forget about sportsmanship because it’s something you have been told since you were just a couple of years old. The pyramid of sports and activities is built with sportsmanship, chemistry, and having fun at the bottom, then you have competition and skill in the middle and winning at the top. You could go without winning, although it wouldn’t be a pyramid it will still be standing up. Another one that people forget is to have fun because they get caught up in the competition and winning part of it. I personally do not believe in doing whatever it takes to get that win. It is sort of like March Madness, the players do almost everything they can to get to the finals. In the middle of the base we have chemistry, as in communication and how well the players can work with each other. The pyramid could also go without chemistry because it is in the middle and it would leave everything standing and you could still get to the very top which is winning, for a while. I say, “for a while” because it would hold the pyramid up but not forever because eventually there will be a crack in that gap. On the other side of the base is having fun. You cannot play a game without having fun. The whole reason these sports and activities were created were to entertain you and to have
fun. And of course we have winning at the top which isn’t supporting anything but it is the whole reason you built the pyramid. Sometimes you will not get the win but you still would’ve had all the hard work and all of the building blocks to show that you did your best to get there. Competition is in the middle of the pyramid because it is what keeps it balanced as competitiveness should be balanced, not too much and not too little. If you have too much competitive spirit you will end up putting too much weight on sportsmanship and having fun, also the chemistry will definitely fall apart from there. Also in the middle of the pyramid we have skill. You need to have skill to hold the win at the top of the pyramid it’s just as simple as that. On Sunday March 19, 2017 I had my last soccer game for the league tournament and we wanted to get the win. My whole team completely didn’t follow any of the steps on the Sports and Activities Pyramid. Our team started two fights during the game and we got two red cards and 3-4 yellow cards. We started fights because the other team had no sportsmanship, which caused our team to lose our sportsmanship. All of these acts made us our chemistry, because we all wanted to just take the ball and have it all for ourselves. We had too much competitive spirit and we lost sportsmanship, chemistry, and having fun. All of those make up the base of the pyramid. We lost the game 6-0. The pyramid had collapsed.

The closing case in chapter 1 points us to a shift in the worldwide demographics. When looking at population pyramid, there has been a shift from the traditional pyramid of a country’s age distribution, to pyramids that are starting to look more like diamonds or rectangles. This is caused by lower birth rates and an increase in life expectancy. The change in both birth rates and life expectancy can mainly be attributed to an increase in urbanization and education levels. They loved this idea so much that as soon as the next match started, every fingertip was orange from nonstop passing. Working as a team, we began winning games, but I didn’t allow pride to overshadow the significance of remaining humble. There have been numerous hobbies that I have pursued throughout my lifetime. Each hobby that I have engaged in has taught me various skills, which I have been able to utilize in different aspects of my life. Softball has taught me the importance of teamwork, decision- making, persistence, and most importantly dedication. Learning and applying each of these vital skills has greatly impacted my life. Without these essential skills, I would not be where I am in my military career and especially my life.

In our past readings, we read about the ancient pyramids of Egyptians and they really grabbed my interest and attention when it came to writing this paper. I have decided to research more into the Great Pyramids and try to discuss some of the differences and similarities between the pyramids of ancient Egypt and Mayan. I also want to discuss the first pharaoh to receive a pyramid. While also discussing more into depth of the spiritual significance of the pyramids and some of their ideas behind why the pyramids are designed like they are. I hope to bring more knowledge between the two groups and the amazing ancient pyramids.
