The Project

Project Scope

Alstom Power Turbo-Systems was awarded the Engineering Procure Construct contract for TRUenergy’s Tallawarra CCGT Power Station located approximately 20kms south of Wollongong. Their scope was for the supply and installation of an Alstom GT26 Gas Turbine c/w HRSG / Steam Turbine / Generator / Stack / Balance of Plant.

Tenix Alliance was awarded two subcontracts from Alstom. The first was for the mechanical installation of the HRSG (Heat Replacement Steam Generation) and the second subcontract was for mechanical installation of the Balance of Plant.

Tenix’s role was primarily to install equipment, weld steel and fabricate or connect pipe work, all of which was largely provided by Alstom or others.

The civil subcontractor, Catcon, completed their works prior to June 2008 and we have been advised they have been paid.

The electrical subcontractor, Teams Electrical has advised that they have a claim for $2.1m on remeasure, site instructions and claims for delay. Their last milestone payment was paid at 80% and they are currently owed $1.45m for approved works.

The insulating and cladding subcontractor, Insultech have had no variations approved and is preparing a claim for approximately $2m.

Tenix has no contractual issues with any of its subcontractors
