Language plays a huge role in all human lives. People communicate with each other every single day because communication is an everyday tool. With the help of language, communication becomes much easier. Small things such as tiny conversations, following/giving instructions, and shopping, all become simple with the use of language. Language is the only way a person can use to finish the businesses in their society. Also it is the only method used by which every subject is easily understood. Language is important because it is used in significant places such as in economics, politics, culture and social events. Of all languages spoken in our world today, English is the most important and most spoken language. Through the development of English, the use of technology, and lastly the need for a common powerful language, English has become the main language above all.
While people change, English changes to fit the people's lifestyle. It is important for a language to adapt with all generations and English is a good job with adapting. Since citizens of a society develop and grow, the tools that are used to communicate are forced to develop too. The Oxford English Dictionary has added new words to their dictionary "OMG", "LOL" and the symbol for "heart" have all been added to the dictionary" (Ehrlich, Brenna). These new words are used in our world today as slangs. Slangs are often used in everyday conversations, and eventually they were added to the dictionary. This shows that English stays powerful because they tend to add words. When a language doesn’t have the strength to grow and change, it dies. Ancient Greek and Latin languages are dead because they are no longer growing. They are only alive in that specific area to feel the...

Language is and will always be the most important towards any human being. No matter how much technology products there are, or how many languages appear, English will always be the most spoken language in the world. That is because it holds an enormous part in communication; also worldwide business goes far good because of English. With the use of English everyone is in touch although each is from a different place. There are lots of benefits when it comes to English because it is the most important spoken language today and it is very important for everyone to learn English. The power of English demands everyone to learn how to speak English or otherwise they will not be able to live among others and be educated equally to others. Besides, believe it or not English will never die but become more powerful overtime.
Language allows us to communicate with other human beings and without it the world would be doomed. We would not be able to understand anything or have the abilities to cooperate with each other. Although language is made up by humans and not the world, we choose to believe otherwise. Everyday we go on with our lives thinking that the world created everything, but that is not true because something or someone had to create the world as the world was not just there. Language is essential to the world just as water is essential to people. For example, those who are deaf and communicate with sign-language sometimes struggle because not everyone knows how use

As Orwell states in his essay “Modern English, especially written English, is full of bad habits which spread by imitation and which can be avoided if one is willing to take the necessary trouble. If one gets rid of these habits one can think more clearly” (446). These bad habit are speaking in text speak instead of proper English. In past centuries we have fought great battles, now we unite against new enemy, the enemy of improper English.
The American society is a melting pot of different cultures, race, and languages. Living in America does not mean that someone is a natural born American or a perfect English speaker. Many people who migrated to America face discrimination due to their inability to speak proper English. In her essay, “Mother Tongue,” author Amy Tan examines the various struggles she faces with her identity through language and the perspective American society has on Asian-American immigrants.

Language is a medium of communication and a carrier of culture because all that people know about their origin is communicated to them using language. In most cases mother tongues are suitable in expressing ones way of life. The native language is the best in expressing basic societal affairs. Language is the key medium of communication and it should be used in its simplest form because the simpler the language the easier the communication (Diyanni 633-639).
Actually, the majority of people in the world “speak 1.69 languages- not high enough to conclude that the average person is bilingual” (source C). Having the ability to communicate in one language can help others communicate in everyday life from walking through town and shopping to making deals in business. Having a society that is monolingual can improve economies and relations throughout the world. Also, there was a survey in 2007 to determine the number of 5 year olds and older who spoke a language other than English at home. Out of the 280,950,438 people, 225,505,953 of them spoke only English at home (source E). This means that again 20% of people spoke a language other than English at home. English is a popular language, not just in English speaking countries, but also in countries that it is not the primary language. As the world changes, English becomes more and more of a necessity for society to communicate. As time progresses, English may be the only language needed to communicate more for people around the world. Through the globalization of the English language, its effects would greatly improve society by shortening time lost in language barriers and improve understandings of
English is, almost certainly, the most important subject that a child can learn in school. Without knowing proper English, a child will not be able to communicate effectively with the English speaking nation. They would be shut off from education and other people in this country. A person who does not poses proper English limits his or her ability to achieve their highest potential. Knowledge of the English language is important to learn to be able to communicate with others, in the teaching of immigrant students, and in finding and maintaining a job.
Language is a part of our everyday lives, and we can describe the meaning of language in many ways. As suggested in Gee and Hayes (2011, p.6 ) people can view language as something in our minds or something existing in our world in the form of speech, audio recordings, and writings or we can view language as a way of communicating with a group of people. Language can be used to express our emotions, make sense of our mental and abstract thoughts and assists us in communicating with others around us. Language is of vital importance for children to enable them to succeed in school and everyday life. Everyone uses both oral and written language. Language developed as a common ability amongst human beings with the change
A language with rather humble roots, one that has been twisted and bent, one that has taken and borrowed from other languages, and one that has been the subject of much debate as to the correctness of certain usages, today English is the language that the world uses to communicate. The world uses English for a variety of reasons from commerce and trade, to political decisions, to technology and science, and beyond. The entire world uses English to get business done. Thus it truly has become the lingua franca for the world.
It would be reasonable if Honey suggested that English would be the dominant language in the near future. English is still the global language worldwide and the United States is still the driving force in political, economical and cultural fields of endeavor. This dominance will last for a long while yet, but not forever.
Language is what makes all of us different because we all have different languages we speak or accents as well. Not everyone can speak the same language or understand other languages then their own. That is why language is important we all need to communicate in someone right? Language is also used to understand culture. “Linguistic anthropologists are interested in how many languages there are distributed around the world, and their contemporary and historical relationships. They are also interested in language variation, why variations exist, how the variations are used, and what they mean when they are used in various context. Specializations at CSULB include language and education, language and gender, language loss, and many more different specializations. Everyday these anthropologists are study to find out more about cultural issues and solutions to everyday language” (Department of Anthropology, CSULB). As you can see language is one of the most important discovers today without it we would not be able to communicate with one and other. “Kathryn Ann Woolard was a linguistic anthropologist but her interests were in language ideologies and sociolinguistic issues in Catalonia. She got her PhD from University of California at Berkeley. She was the President of the Society for Linguistic Anthropology from 2009-2011. She views language as a tool for communication, social action, and a
Based on the number of people who use it as a language and its easy nature to learn, English is the best candidate as the global language, which should facilitate communication in the changing environment. This draws the line between English and other languages whose usage is predominant across Europe and parts of Asia. In terms of numbers and effectiveness in learning, English is more superior to other languages.
Even though there are advantages as well as disadvantages, the need for international language for communication, politics, economics and security is necessary and English is the best “language candidate” for that function. English is a language spread all over the world and it is used by millions and millions of speakers. According to my opinion, people should use English as a tool to communicate with all cultures but every country must keep their culture and language is a great part of it. In conclusion, language defines identity of a country and everyone should keep their language and explore others.
Also English is the language that consociate the whole World (Pike, 2013). It is important to learn English for being a global citizen - a person that can live anywhere, thrive anywhere, and speak to anyone (Pike, 2013), the more people learn English, the more people can approach to the World. That means different countries can exchange their idea, knowledge and technology by using English. English lead our country to be more developed and wealthy.
