My whole world would be completely different if it was not for the people in my life. My loved ones are one of the most important aspect in my life and is something that I should never be take for granted. Without my them, I couldn’t imagine what I would do. For me personally, a family is a group of people who love and support each other through the good and bad times.
Families will always be there through thick and thin, and my own parent’s divorce is a perfect example of this. When I was about nine years old, my parents filed a divorce and at the time, I actually did not know all what was happening or why it was happening. I would always hear them argue about their own differences like the house and paying for school just about every night

It is just something about the holiday season that brings the best out of people. My house has always taken the holidays serious from Thanksgiving to Christmas, my parents, siblings and I, all head back home to Kansas for Thanksgiving in a comparable little unplanned reunion. I always loved seeing everybody at Thanksgiving and the smells and sounds of Thanksgiving have always warmed my heart. Christmas is especially a special time for me and my house always does the typical traditions of Christmas. We all buy presents for each other, decorate the house, cook Christmas eve and Christmas day dinner, just the typical Christmas for our household. My dad and I have always gone out and find one present that we give to a random orphan at the local orphanage, we have done this for a few years apart as a tradition from his job. Holiday celebrations are often a real fun and festive time in my house. I loved everything about the holidays and I always look forward to it each year, and it is the people living in my house that are the reason for this too. We all just forget about the past for this little period of time and just appreciate everything we all have
In general knowledge, a family is a group consisting of blood relatives, living together as a unit. However, family has a much deeper meaning to me. Growing up in such a small Haitian community, I was always very close to all of my relatives, whether it was my siblings, cousins or aunts and uncles. I couldn’t imagine a world without them: they are the people who made me who I am today.
In life, the moment we grow up is the day we start to visualize the future. Questions like, “How will I maintain this job?” “How will I begin a family?” “When will people start to recognize me for my talents?” “Will I ever fulfill my dream?” start to arise. Also, many other questions are being asked all the time, but since we are all different, everyone’s life questions are not the same. Matter fact, the easiest answer to our life questions are the lessons we learned at home and the lessons we were taught as kids. Therefore as kids, we learn all of these unique different lessons from our parents or family in general. Dedicated and responsible parents or members of the family know that children are the future. A family’s job and presence is to provide children with a feeling of belonging and creativity of their identity. Families should be a source of emotional support, comfort, protection, and etc. The relationships we create and mend creates our future self mentally and emotionally. Love is a strong word that cause us to either become strong or weak as an individual. Love comes and goes, but we start to realize that only unconditional love we really need is the love from our family. A family’s love is what causes us to grow into the person we should become. The theme of family is presented in a way to build the character’s charisma and how much support becomes a lifeline.
families have struggles, both internal and external, and while this is undoubtedly true, the struggles that
Family has played an intricate role in the development of the society in which we live. The diversity in which families are formed is now becoming even more diverse with the American culture, which is changing at a rapid pace. Diverse cultures coupled with social economic challenges are key contributors to the dramatic change to the institution of family. With these challenges facing the institution of family, this closely tightknit unit which has been the cornerstone of American society has diminishing from a traditional standpoint. Non-kinship family networks like the one described in Karen V. Hansen’s “The Cranes, An Absorbent Safety Net,” goes against the norm of the common institution of family within America. Although the Crane family
When the word “family” is discussed, most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people's lives, they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it’s money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support.
“A family can be defined as a set of people related by blood, marriage or in some other agreed upon relationship, or adoption, who share primary responsibility for reproduction and caring for member of society". (Schaefer, 2009, p. 288) This leads to a wide open range of interpretation on the exact definition of how a family is truly made up. Depending on your culture, religion, or geographical location a family may represent and be comprised of many different ideals and social norms. There are many theoretical perspectives that have their own interpretations on the subject of what a family is and how it is perceived. I will attempt to expound on three of these perspectives; Functionalism, Conflict, and Interactionalism.
I have a big family which includes three generations. But all of them live and work in the different places. I live with my parents in the west of country which is far from my grandparents’ town. The time when the end of year is coming and several cool winds blows over city makes me feel excited because it gives a signal Christmas coming. That is always a good time to come back to my hometown and stay with my family, share many emotions or memories and spend time together. Last Christmas seemed an unforgettable time with having lunch under the warm atmosphere in garden.
Family is significant because they shape our development and personality. They also give teachings that guide us throughout our lives so that we won’t make the same mistakes they did. In addition, during hard times our family will always be there to help even when our friends can’t. Friends will come and go but family will always be there. Families are like the lasting friends. They teach us to have relationships with other people, how to love, how to get along, how to share, etc. They are the people we can always turn to because they know us so well. Family are one of the few people who won’t judge and will look past your flaws and mistakes. Family is important because they can sometimes be all you have. They are the people who make you feel special no matter the circumstances.
During Christmas we gather in different groups of our family and eat lots good food and give presents to other people. We often go to a Christmas ceremony at a church on Christmas Eve. Christmas in my family is an important holiday. What is your Christmas tradition?
What is a family? A family is two or more people consider themselves to be blood related, or related by marriage, or adoption. Our families are who we love. We as families look different in so many ways. A family’s caregiving unit might have a couple, a mother, a father, and children. A family could also be a single parent and child, a group of siblings, a small or large group of friends. A family defines itself in many different ways. Families are the foundation of how our society and how it works. It is how we come into the world and nurtured and given the tools that we need to go out into our world. We are both capable and healthy or not our families influence our lives either in a good way or a bad way. While families
Ever since I could remember, I have spent Christmas at my grandmother’s house, a house which is full of comfort, warmth, and happiness. At Christmas, I have always been able to escape the cold and dark real world allowing myself to truly enjoy just several moments in time. These moments have left impressionable memories from my childhood making Christmas a holiday that is special to me and my family. It is a time for my family to get together, share stories, laugh, and even cry.
Everyone seems to define family differently, however, the significance of family is the same. For you, family means everything. You can always count on your parents and siblings for help and love. Family is very valuable and important to you and should never be taken for granted. No one can deny that family is the foundation of our generation. A family is where we all start our life journey and helps us grow to be successful throughout our lives.
Christmas is my favorite holiday because it is the time of year that everyone should spend with their family and friends loving them unconditionally. Every Christmas, my family and I, on my mother 's side, join together on Christmas Eve to be able to spend time with the ones which we love. Considering that my family loves to eat, my grandmother cooks a ginormous feast! My grandmother loves to cook, but on Christmas she goes crazy. She cooks dressing, corn, potatoes, macaroni, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and my favorite pecan pie. After making sure everyone gets enough food, we all join in the living room to share stories and open our presents. My cousin, Brady Parker, always finds a way to make
My family is a love I have. My immediate family consists of six people: my dad, mom, and three sisters and me. However, I love these people on a different scale than I love books. Whether it is a hand to guide, a tissue to wipe away tears, or simply a smile to make my day better I can count on people to love me and so, henceforth, I love them in return. I love my parents for many reasons. They are always there for me when I need help or am need of anything.
I don’t know where I’d be without my family. We’ve been through thick, and thin. I’m very glad that I have them for moral support, and can depend on them for advice. They’ve taught me almost everything I know about life, whether it’d be household chores, manners, morals, cooking, etc. I’m pleased to have a very caring family that would do anything for me. I feel safe and secure with them. They provide me with the basic necessities such as food, water, and a roof over my head. I would consider all of the things they provide me with as luxuries, because not everyone has a comfortable place to reside in, or food to eat. If I didn’t have these basic necessities, then it would be another thing I would have to stress about in life. I like to joke around with them a lot, and it brings a smile to my face when I see their reaction. Having a loving, and supportive family is what makes me
