Christmas holiday
I have a big family which includes three generations. But all of them live and work in the different places. I live with my parents in the west of country which is far from my grandparents’ town. The time when the end of year is coming and several cool winds blows over city makes me feel excited because it gives a signal Christmas coming. That is always a good time to come back to my hometown and stay with my family, share many emotions or memories and spend time together. Last Christmas seemed an unforgettable time with having lunch under the warm atmosphere in garden. It was a lovely day with sunshine lightened through the tree’s leaves to my window room. I woke up

I jumped up out of my bed and packaged quickly and got on the bus of my mom’s company. As I knew the distance from Da Lat city to Nha Trang was about 130km, and it took 4 hours to get there. It seemed a long day to get a destination after leaving behind all tired, finally we arrived to this resort. The first expression I had was a nice resort with long white sand across the beach. It was built in the high hill with a plenty plants around make an amazing view. From the reception desk I looked up to chain of rooms which had a classical countryside style. Their roofs were covered by brown dark tiles. I took the room and went to it with my mom. Outside my room, there were some bushes of nice red rose flowers swinging slightly in the wind. I could not restrain my curiousness about this place and began to discover it. Walking along the stone main road with many plants besides I finally found the way to go to the sea and saw a clean blue pool beyond. I ran fast into the beach, quickly felt the soft sand under my feet. Every wind blew over my face bringing the salty taste from the sea. I closed my eyes and enjoyed this moment. If this resort in daytime could give you a fascinated feeling, it in night time was more amazing. I sat in a dinner room, watched over the window through the trees outside and listened to the song of the sea. The melody of chasing waves over and over came …show more content…
Therefore, I was educated under a strict standard of my family. Besides, I was also taught many things such as knowledge of physic and astronomy, art and music by my father. He is not an adorable person I love the most, but the one passing passion to my career recently.
My father is an elderly man now, with pepper and salt hair leaning a side his head. He has a twinkled brown eyes and a dark skin with wrinkles face. My father is tall and skinny. He loves to dress vest suit when working in office and casual in home. His arms are so strong and he has muscle due to farming on the field each weekend. Especial he has a long scar on his leg which was got from a accident when he tried to fixed my house’s roof.
As many stories my mom told me when I was a little young girl, he used to be a captain in a big boat so his knowledge of sea or any related is so wide. He knows many things such as how to drive a boat or how to manage all sailors or finding which way is the north or the east easily. I can ask him whenever I don’t have ability to solve my problem. He is not only my father who teaches and guide me every single step to the hard life, not also a friend whom I can share everything and get his advice or his forgiveness with my mistake. In the difficult time I had to choose which university I should sign in, he just held me in his arm and said “Do whatever you want, listen to your heart and choose the best one you like”. Thank to
My favorite holiday is Christmas because I feel joyful. Also, I can feel how warm the atmosphere is, almost like a fireplace. In an apartment with white walls, there is the living room with a tall, dark green Christmas tree decorated with colorful blue, pink and purple Christmas ornaments, and colorful red bright lights. In the meantime, my mom and my husband are cooking dinner, and there is the smell of a pumpkin candle burning on top of the table. While we wait for the food to be ready, we all sit down in the living room to watch some classic movies like “Rudolph”, “The Little Drummer Boy”, and even if it’s not classic “Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. While trying to avoid the occasional passing jellyfish, it was an experience of
In the James family Thanksgiving is far from perfect but this year I wanted to change that. Know more playing Minecraft on the Xbox. It's just going to be chatting at the dinner table and eating till we pass out, while watching football. I was determined this will be the perfect Thanksgiving. But know I had to pick out my outfit for tomorrow.
I awoke before the first rays of sunlight had passed through the dew-covered trees to the west today. It had rained the evening before, and the smell of wet leaves and grass was still lingering in the air.
This is not your typical Christmas tale. This story is about a group of friends who decide giving is better than receiving around this time of year. There are tons of children who aren’t fortunate enough to get Christmas presents, let alone plenty who don’t even have family to spend the holidays with. Three best friends ended up figuring that out and worked together to truly create a Christmas miracle.
With the early struggles I had in life, the one thing I learned is that nothing comes easy in life because if so no one would be living in poverty. The way my parents both work to give my brother and me a better life style was important because I would see the hustle they would do for us but I also felt bad. I appreciate all the effort my parents did and there sacrifices but by doing so, I felt I never had the chance to spend as much time with my parents as I wish. Especially with my father, in which every night will come late tired from work and wake up early the next day and repeat only to give us a roof over our head. I always wished for my father to attend to one of my orchestra performance back when I played the violin from the third grade to eighth grade. I would see many of peers with their family after the show while my father was working and never attended to any of my performances. These events during my childhood made me realize that when I grow to be a father in the future, I would do anything possible to attend to my kid’s school performance because it feels bad after the show when most families are united and yours is not together. Other childhood memories that were influncicial throughout the course of my life was the involvement of sports. Playing both basketball and soccer has taught me many life lesson especially discipline. Many other skills were learned from playing sports such as respect and social skills. Being active in these sports made me have a better understanding on how I should respect and benefiting the strengths of others and how I can grow to a better individual. The best thing about these experience is that when I was with my teammates and coaches, I felt like it was a family because we would always look out for each other and the coaches would always want the best for us give us life advice that would come useful. Inside and outside the field
Traditions are reflections of beliefs, superstitions and the personality of a family. I stop short of saying that they are the soul of a family because my family can no longer celebrate these traditions, but the spirit of my family continues to be an integral part of my life, despite the distance that sets us apart. The soul of my family remains unharmed from the miles that deprive us of the opportunity to celebrate common traditions. Regardless of how far we are apart, there is one tradition that can overcome any lengthy amount of distance, and that is my Aunt Millie’s Cinnamon-pecan rolls.
Although I have grown up to be entirely inept at the art of cooking, as to make even the most wretched chef ridicule my sad baking attempts, my childhood would have indicated otherwise; I was always on the countertop next to my mother’s cooking bowl, adding and mixing ingredients that would doubtlessly create a delicious food. When I was younger, cooking came intrinsically with the holiday season, which made that time of year the prime occasion for me to unite with ounces and ounces of satin dark chocolate, various other messy and gooey ingredients, numerous cooking utensils, and the assistance of my mother to cook what would soon be an edible masterpiece. The most memorable of the holiday works of art were our Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, which my mother and I first made when I was about six and are now made annually.
Education was very important to my father. Once I started attending school my grades took precedence over anything else in my life. My dad helped me with school work when I needed it, so bad grades were out of th...

Frosty the Snowman waves hello alongside Santa 's reindeer that are ready to take off. Candy canes line the sidewalk and the ginger bread dolls dance in a merry circle. The trees all sparkle with thousands of red, yellow, purple, blue, and orange lights. Out back, Mary and Joseph stand over baby Jesus, Choo-Choo train’s chug in spot, stars twinkle with bright yellow bulbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause wave in the distance. Kerkhoven, MN, the location of the happiest house on the block. Every year my breath is always taken away as my eyes struggle to soak in the utter abundance of Christmas spirit. I 'm smiling and we 're not even inside yet.
Christmas to me is a celebration, which includes spending time with my family, decorating the entire house, inside and out, and shopping, for the people I love. Doing this with the people I love is what means the most to me. Spending Christmas with my family is very important to me. We usually gather and celebrate at my parent’s house, in East Tennessee. My husband, our three children, and myself travel from California. My two sisters, their husbands, and children come from a nearby town, for our celebration.
There are times when you don’t know what to do or times when you might feel like you have no help in this world, but there is always that one person who never fails to give you the best advice in life, and that is your father. I have so much respect for any father out there that works hard, and always supports his family no matter what his imperfections might be. My father has got to be the best one in my opinion. He has been the biggest inspiration in my life because he taught me so much stuff in this life that I can’t find a way to pay him. He has been a very humble person and has never seen himself better than anyone else because he believes he is equal to any other father. In my opinion he is the best even though he says he isn’t. My father had imperfections just like any other human being in this world, yet he still taught me how to be a great person in this world by teaching me good morals. “Never Give Up, and believe in God and you will accomplish what you want in life” are words my father always tells me to remember.
It was one of those days where you’re glad to be awake early in the morning, before the afternoon gets scorching hot. The feeling of the cool breeze gently caressing your arms and legs is always something to look forward to, and many people would be swayed into taking a nice walk outside under the trees.
Ever since I could remember, I have spent Christmas at my grandmother’s house, a house which is full of comfort, warmth, and happiness. At Christmas, I have always been able to escape the cold and dark real world allowing myself to truly enjoy just several moments in time. These moments have left impressionable memories from my childhood making Christmas a holiday that is special to me and my family. It is a time for my family to get together, share stories, laugh, and even cry.
