This paper is going to inform the readers about the advantages and challenges of having a family. Also it would be compared with the book, “Three Weeks with my Brother” by Nicholas Sparks and Micah Sparks. In this book, it discussed many advantages and challenges of having a family. All of them can be related to someone else’s family in the world if not my own. Family may come with many obstacles or challenges but it is still a necessity to living a healthy, successful life.
Family is significant because they shape our development and personality. They also give teachings that guide us throughout our lives so that we won’t make the same mistakes they did. In addition, during hard times our family will always be there to help even when our friends can’t. Friends will come and go but family will always be there. Families are like the lasting friends. They teach us to have relationships with other people, how to love, how to get along, how to share, etc. They are the people we can always turn to because they know us so well. Family are one of the few people who won’t judge and will look past your flaws and mistakes. Family is important because they can sometimes be all you have. They are the people who make you feel special no matter the circumstances.
In the book, one of the benefits of their family was that they had a loving and caring mother. It stated, “She was one of those women who were born to be a mother, and she loved us unconditionally; in many ways, we were her life.” This quotation is true not just for the Sparks family, but for most or all families because there are many families who grow up without a father and their mother is the only parent who is loving and caring.

...relative by blood or marriage. It means the people who accept you no matter who you are without no animosity and judgment. The love of a family should be unconditional, and everyone should try their best to provide all they can for the people in their family, emotionally and financially. Family are the people that everyone deserves to feel secure, and comfortable with, even if they aren't lucky enough to have that. Everything people learn comes from the way their family brought them up, and therefore, everything you are is because of your family. Family are the people that everyone deserves to feel secure, and comfortable with, even if they aren't lucky enough to have that. It does not matter if they are your blood relatives; if they have been there for you all their life, and will be there for you unconditionally for the rest of your life, then they are your family
Family can help to build different character traits or it can help to better people. Family is also something that can be relied upon to help with different problems. Many times families and family members will teach a lesson that can be used later in life to help with varied situations. The people that are in the non-fiction literature all have one thing in common: they faced a problem, and were able to overcome it with the help of their family. With the help of family, people can better themselves and the people around them, by using the lessons their family has taught them.
Family defines people making them who they are. A person's family heritage, how their parents met and married, their parents’ occupations, their siblings, and their early lives play an important role in who they are and who they become. Every family is different and has different characteristics and members, but those differences are what make every family unique. Those differences combined with my family members’ experiences and the stories they have chosen to share are what makes this story exclusive to my family.
“This is part of what family is about, not just love, but letting others know that there is someone watching out for them”(Albom 92). From this quote, one learns that family is always there for them. Family is important to life because
Family is important in every culture, it shapes people and makes them who they are.
Family has a major impact on our lives. From the moment you were born, your family has taught you right from wrong. We get our religion, values, gender roles, language, and habits from our families. We get our status in society through your family’s connection and wealth, which later can determine one’s job opportunities in life. Although we grow up and start to develop our own values and beliefs and opinions, the family values, beliefs and opinions that were instilled in you since you were little never really go away.
"A family is a small social group of people related by ancestry or affection, who share common values and goals, who may live together in the same dwelling, and who may participate in the bearing and raising of children. They have a physical or emotional connection with each other that is ongoing" (Vissing, 2011) and is the foundation of all societies. They can be formed by a grouping of father-mother-children or even more complicated combination of relatives. In the primary stage of family life in the United States, everyone from every generation lived together in one house. Subsequently, the idea of traditional family evolved and a married couple with children is at present, often called the traditional family. There are many types of families; however, this paper will focus on the traditional family. It will describe how the functionalist perspective, conflict perspective, and the interactionism theory apply to the sociological institution known as a family. It will explain some of the similarities and differences between the sociological theories in regards to families and how they affect the family members.
When the word “family” is discussed, most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people's lives, they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it’s money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support.

Families can consist of variations in relationships such as close relatives, stepparents, half siblings and extended non-biological family members. Normally, immediate family members live in the same house, nearby, until the child reaches a specified age and maturity to go into the world and start their own family. Most often members of the families have intimate and personal relationships with each other. Within the family there is a continuation of social interactions between members that can influence and shape peoples responses and reactions to their larger societies.
Family by its nature is a social unit wherein children grow up and it acts like the socialization agent. Children receive their earliest and most consistent socialization here in the family. In a family it is very important as to how parents cater the needs of their children and how children take care of them in return. Parents as well as the child are very important part of the developmental process, as it is the parents who will shape the children as what they will become. The parent child relationship influences each other and together they shape the relationship they engage in it.
