The Ministry of the Trinity
The ministries of Jesus and the Holy Spirit are closely related, each one serving an individual purpose while complimenting the other. Although the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one in the trinity, they each have different roles that they play. The Holy Spirit plays an active part in our lives, as does Jesus. The role of the Spirit changed with Jesus. When Jesus died and rose from the cross, He opened up a new doorway for us, a new opportunity for us to experience the Holy Spirit. The Spirit became active and real to us in a way that He never could before. Today, our lives are focused on Jesus, focused on His love and sacrifice. His present ministry is seen through His believers. We are His lights in this present dark world.
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit
Our comforter, teacher, and guide, the Holy Spirit is all these things and more. The Spirit convicts men of their sin and brings them new life. Before examining His ministry, we must first learn to view the Spirit as a person rather than a power. He has a mind, will, and emotions. In I Corinthians 2:10, the Bible states that the Spirit "…searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." For someone to search and explore another's thoughts, he must himself possess a mind. Jesus says that the Spirit will come to convict mankind of sin (John 16:8). This demonstrates His will. Acts 15:28 says, "…for it seemed good to the Holy Spirit…" Therefore He has the capability to determine between good and bad. He has a will and emotions.
Now that we have established the Spirit as a person, how does He play a personal role in our lives and what is His role in the Trinity? When we are faced with trials and di...

...nd worship Him like never before. There are still things that I need to let go of, some areas where He needs to break me. I fight with my inward self everyday. His ministry in my life right now is mostly that of a comfort and a guide. Satan has been attacking me from all angles possible, but God has shown me how to cast my cares upon Him and let His Spirit be my comfort. I know that my future is in His hands and that He is going to use me in some mighty ways!
In conclusion, the Holy Spirit works in mysterious ways! Sometimes we don't agree with Him and that is when we have to submit ourselves to His authority and just do what He says. Without the love of Christ and His Spirit, we are lost. He has a ministry in each of our lives and a ministry to the world. Once we learn to grow from Him, then we can help others and continue His work in the world.
In the film “The Holy Ghost People,” right away we get individual accounts of what the “Holy Spirit” is to certain individuals. One woman says the Holy Ghost guides her and keeps her going. The people are very intense about their beliefs, which comes from the religion Pentecostalism, which has a hyper focus on personal experience with God and baptism with the Holy Spirit. We see them in their church, we hear the sermon, and see the ritualistic dances and the way the prayer overcomes them, and causes seizure like motions. We see and hear the prayers for the healing of one woman’s eyesight, and another woman’s back pain. One man, seemingly the pastor, says that “if God is not doing what they ask, people aren’t believing hard enough.” Later we get an account from a woman of how she was nursed back to health as a little girl brought her nutrients, and she believes it was
...nity. The Holy Spirit allows human beings to become closer to God, and the relationship between the Father and the Son. After writing about both the Trinity and Salvation, I have learned that they are immensely interconnected. The Trinity allows human beings to find Salvation. All in all, the Trinity is not three separate parts, but one part with three different essences.
The Holy Spirit unites all our Heavenly Friends and all the believers. As Catholics, we also believe and have faith that our Heavenly Friends will guide us in hard times and help us be faithful followers.
Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit in John 14:16-17, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him not knows him. Y...
The doctrine of the Holy Spirit begins with examining biblical witness to the work of the Holy Spirit in the history of Israel, as well as the ministry of Jesus, and in the life of the church. During the creation account it was the breath of God that grave life to all creation. The Holy Spirit has been a primate actor sin the beginning of time. While the Spirit was present prior to the ministry of Christ, the New Testament speaks in greater detail of the Spirit because it empowered Jesus. The doctrine of the Trinity, as seen in the Christian bible, is primary to the Christian faith. The word “Trinity” does not actually appear in the bible; it is a theological label meant to summarize certain teachings of certain passages of scripture, and is crucial to properly understand what God is like, how He relates to us, and how we relate to Him. It may also raise many difficult questions including what does it mean that God is a Trinity? While it is difficult for us to fully understand everything about the trinity, it is quite possible to answer questions like this one and come to a solid grasp of what it means for God to be three in one.
He carries with Him the transcendence that comes only with God Himself. Therefore, His work on our behalf makes our salvation sure. Jesus, the God-man, has atoned for our sins. We can place our confidence in Him because of His divine nature” (7). This is the ultimate application of the gospel of John. John is a book that Christians need to read and gather as much information out of it as possible to share with others who do not believe in or have not heard of Jesus. The applications written in this book are for all to hear and for all to reap the benefits of. Jesus is the only one who can save humanity from the sin that we have brought upon ourselves in which the consequence is death. Jesus died on the cross so that we would not have to pay for our sins. God sacrificed His one and only son so that we may live eternally with Him in Heaven. According to the lesson on John, the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to provide the gospel message to others and share the love of Christ (Lesson 7.23.3). We are to allow the Holy Spirit to guide our actions so that the Lord might save as many as
The Holy Spirit gives us power to make things possible. Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The power enabled the apostles to heal the sick (3:1-10, 5:15-16, 9:32-35) and raise people from the dead (9:36-43). The power also enabled them to speak the truth boldly (4:1-14, 7:1-53,
The doctrine of the Trinity teaches that God is one in essence and three in person, however there has been continued marks that the Trinity is irrational and a contradiction of itself. One such argument is that the bible never uses the word Trinity. There are many things that may not be mentioned in the Bible, but to say that if it isn’t in the Bible than it simply cannot be, is a fallacy. God teaches many things and many a theologian to this day still debate amongst one another on what the Bible is really communicating. As humans we just simply cannot grasp all of God’s teachings and works.
Recently there has been an increase of interest in spiritual gifts bestowed upon Christians. This ministry of the Holy Spirit has often been misunderstood and misinterpreted. Questions often arise and equipping the saints with answers becomes critical. When questioned, believers must be prepared to respond with a correct, loving and biblical answer. Dedicated study and attentive analysis reveals, identifies, and illuminates the spiritual gifts.
THE DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR THE CHRISTIAN LIFE By Lucy McGoldrick, 12/06/18 Introduction The word “Trinity” is not mentioned in the [Christian] Bible. The Latin term, Trinitas [translated to Trinity] was first used by a second century (AD) theologian called Tertullian, Barnes (1971). In fact, theologians often use terms that aren’t found in the Bible to plainly convey biblical truths.
The Trinity which incorporates the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit was a matter of controversy in the earlier days of the church. This led to many debates, not for its validity but on the way, the Trinity was supposed to be understood. This was very important because Christianity is a monotheistic religion, but the Trinity is accepted as having three members of the Godhead. Fundamental things like this needed to be settled in order for Christians to be able to spread the religion confidently. Consequently, the debates led to two different approaches to how the Trinity is to be interpreted.
The Holy Spirit emboldened me to ask members to try something new and different, not knowing if they would be willing to do it. The Holy Spirit opened hearts and minds of both churches so that we could make changes that everyone said were impossible. A member of the CJ congregation has felt the Holy Spirit moving him to become a licensed local pastor and I see it working in him as we serve together.
The Holy Spirit is for everyone. When the Holy Spirit came in Acts it fell on everyone who was in the room not just certain people. According to verse 17 the sign of the Holy Spirit is that you speak. When the Holy Spirit comes on falls on you the only response is to tell people about it. As the NT church today we should be cautious not to put limits on the Holy Spirit.
At one point or another in one’s life you are faced with God, eye to eye and you know it. You can feel the Holy Spirit’s presence, like a humming sound that’s too low to hear, but it’s there and you can feel it, a feeling that you are not alone. For some, this feeling lasts for eternity, and for others God works within them again and again because the Lord’s love is persistent. The feeling I had came and went, for it was not strong enough as a child. But now, I am the strongest I have ever been.
