People all over the world make vital decisions every day for the greater good. From Michael sacrificing himself, to Taylor sacrificing her family, to the electro clan making adjustments for the better. These things played a major role in the theme, "Sacrificing something for the better good." This theme doesn't need to be just in books, but can be in our daily lives and can change our lives and others lives for the
Living in a world of discrimination of every kind is unavoidable, but being that people do have a choice they can change. As individuals they can change and become more accepting towards diversity. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee guides the reader through the theme of acceptance. Atticus, Jem, and Scout know and learn the importance of acceptance throughout the novel. All three of them eventually share the same view of acceptance through equality.
The universal themes that are used in the story are racism and better the young.”And mothers and fathers, if it is too late for you, think of your children. Make it safe so they don't have to run away, for I want for you and your children what I had.”( Baker, 83) These themes are universal because both talk about things that has happened multiple times. The other theme racism. Racism was back then and it is now. The theme talks about the racism in the past and in the present and in the future. Racism will be the theme for lots of things in the present but also

How many times can one be lied to or deceived in a short period of time? In The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by Clive Staples Lewis, he writes a story about four children and their adventures in Narnia. These four children are deceived to many times throughout the novel. The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, Lewis used the symbol of the Great White Stag, the archetype of the evil figure with the ultimate good heart, and the symbol of the Turkish Delight to convey to his readers’ deception in the novel.
In conclusion, C.S. Lewis’ The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is not only a children’s story filled with creatures that are only of imagination, but an allegorical representation of biblical history and a quest to find one’s strength. Although author like J.R.R Tolkein once criticized his Narnia books, they remain among the most beloved books of classic Children’s Literature selling over 100 million copies.
Throughout the story of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe you can find different themes. Nature, faith, heroism, and justice are only some that are exhibited in the novel. C.S. Lewis “says he saw pictures, pictures which began to join up into patterns: “a faun carrying an umbrella, a queen on a sledge, a magnificent lion. At first there wasn’t even anything Christian about them, that element pushed itself in on its own accord.”” (Hannay).
On the surface it would seem that the only thing Macbeth and A Dollhouse have in common would be that they are both plays, but critics would have to disagree and say they have similar themes as well. Both plays exhibit females who lust for power, Lady Macbeth and Nora. The motif of crime and punishment in both works impacts the theme that the lust for power can lead to destruction and instability.
Themes are the fundamental and often universal ideas explored in a literary work. The story “Battle Royal” by Ralph Ellison displays a few specific themes through the story which are easy to depict. A few themes from this story are, first racism and finding his self identity, then the danger of fighting stereotype with stereotype, and last blindness. These themes play an important role in the story to better help the reader understand it.
C.S Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is a prime example of a Christian epic. The novel, which I will be focussing on, contains many key characteristics of an epic according to Peter Toohey. I will be using Toohey’s description of an epic and comparing his thoughts and feelings on what an epic should consist of to this particular novel in order to show what exactly makes C.S Lewis’s great tale an epic in my eyes. The tale features four children; Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy who have been sent away from London during the war to live with an old professor in the countryside and this is where they discover the wardrobe.
The first reason I think that this is the appropriate theme to use for this book is on page 137, Shay witch is the bully said to ally in the book “ ‘This is not a poetry award, it is a pitty award’ “ When Shay said that to Ally, she rain into the bathroom crying. A few paragraphs later, the bathroom door opened. It was Keisha. She had come to comfort Ally and to make sure that she was OK. Keisha then calmed Ally down and then Ally forgot that those
Throughout The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe many symbolisms are expressed. It shows many times through the expression of the battle between good and evil as well as the sacrificial notion of Aslan when he died to save the life of Edmund.
There is a lingering theme throughout the entire Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe novel by C.S. Lewis and the similar Narnia movie, it’s a “behind the scenes” type of transformation. Maturity backed with individualistic idealism could be considered a main theme in most movies, but what makes Narnia idiosyncratic comparatively? Three disquisition modeling points include character maturity, common sense, and strongly improved qualities which will be elaborated on throughout this essay. In a general overview of the book, four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy venture into another world through a wardrobe.
The protagonists in this book are the Pevensie children: Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Even though they have just stumbled into the realm of Narnia, they are quick to protect it from the hands of the White Witch. Peter is fair and just. Even though he is a little bit of a control freak, he always does the right thing. Susan is beautiful and gentle. There is more to her than meets the eye. Edmund is stubborn and does not like to be told what to do. Even though he betrays his siblings and follows the White Witch. he does what is right in the end. Lucy is very kind and faithful. She believes in Narnia even when no one else does. She always does what is right.
A love story is a genre of popular fiction in which characters fall in love. Although, the basis of Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent are love stories, there are more important themes to these stories than the romance portrayed in these fairytales, which Disney touches on, but Robert Stromberg brings more emphasis to; evil from different perspectives, the act of rape, and the theory that love conquers all.
