The night before the free-for-all, Orion had a tough time sleeping. He tossed and turned in every possible position until he finally decided to get out of bed and go for a walk. He stepped lightly to avoid waking his companions. He went down the stairs and out the door, into the cold outdoors. Many people were still awake for the festival. Couples, children, and travelers alike wandered the streets with happy expressions. The townsfolk danced in the square while a dwarvish woman and her band of musicians played joyful music. A young woman invited Orion to join them, but he politely declined. He watched his feet move in sequence, listening to his own footsteps. He was thinking; thinking about what he could do to get over his fears. He hadn’t felt a fear as bad as that since he’d left home. Just the thought made him emotional. “Sir?” …show more content…
The kicearin juice seller stood nearby, holding a crate of glass bottles. She and Orion ended up sitting together, sharing a bottle of mint water. He explained his story and she listened with an open ear. “You sound a lot like me when I was younger. I used to fight in tournaments like this one until I retired. Seemed like everyone was doing it at the time, all because of the Knights of Garthram.” She said. “I was unaware that people quit fighting because of them.” He muttered. “O’course, it was before your time.” “Fair enough.” Orion took a swig of the water. A refreshing change from the cups of stout he downed for the past two days. “So, those kids you’re with, the Stober twins?” “What does it matter to you?” “Lord Kragen wants ‘em. Are you taking ‘em to ‘im?” “No. I’m not interested in bounty hunting. Besides, I promised to help them save their father.” “That’s quite noble of you,” the woman said. “If you’re not scared of Kragen then why’re you so scared of his pets?” “I’m not scared of them.” Orion denied quickly. “There’s… only one that scares

The Divine Comedy written by Dante is one of the greatest poems ever written based on the fact that it is an autobiography as well as an allegory. It is considered an autobiography of Dante because he uses his personal experiences as motivation and inspiration. The beginning of first poem in The Divine Comedy, The Inferno, is related to the emotions Dante experienced after being exiled from Florence. He is wandering in the woods when he comes up to the bottom of a hill and starts to climb it before he is stopped by three creatures. This scene relates to how lost and confused Dante felt, along with feeling like he was attacked. By using his personal experiences and emotions, Dante actually wrote what is known as an allegory. Dante's Inferno - A Religious and Morally Challenging Experience Dante Alighieri, one of the greatest poets of the Middle Ages, was born in Florence, Italy on June 5, 1265. He was born to a middle-class Florentine family. At an early age he began to write poetry and became fascinated with lyrics. During his adolescence, Dante fell inlove with a beautiful girl named Beatrice Portinari. He saw her only twice but she provided much inspiration for his literary masterpieces.
While I read Dante’s Inferno, I caught myself reading an underlying message. It wasn’t about the Christian faith, or the soul’s road to salvation. It was Dante’s own political views. While the book may have been written for the religious message, I believe that Dante added his take on politics as well. I believe Dante uses religious principles to punish his political opponents.
"Take it," he said, "this is my body." Then he took a cup, gave thanks
“Abandon all hope ye who enter here” (The Inferno, Cantos III). This line which is inscribed above the gates of Hell, and notably one of the most iconic lines from Dante Alighieri’s, The Inferno, describes what horrors await one inside Hell. Dante Alighieri wrote The Divine Comedy, while in exile from his home and birth place, Florence. The Divine Comedy is not only a physical, but spiritual journey which consists of three parts. Part one is The Inferno where Dante journeys through Hell with his guide, the Roman poet Virgil. Part two is called, Purgatory where Dante travels through the place where the souls still have hope to enter heaven. Finally, the last part of the Comedy, is Paradise where Dante gets to see the thrown of God. The Inferno

sun, and that they now live sullen forever.” Dante and Virgil are now happy that they finally where able to get out of the marsh and come to a high tower that had no name (Hero).
Dante’s Inferno, set up of hell is created by is created by Dante himself which allows him to designate where in hell each sinner falls into. “Prisoners? No we have no intention of making captives of you, we're just here to escort you.”
“If it saves my family and no harm will come to them, then I will do it. But I have to ask a question. Did you kill my parents just to get my attention and to let me know that you are stronger and more powerful than me.”
“Why should I? You aren't worth anything to me and helping you seems to be against my best interests,” I say as a deadly scowl forms on my face.
