Brock looked up at the sky, the sun seemed an odd color, a little more reddish than he was used to. It was also later in the day here than it had been on Earth, judging by the position of the sun it was close to noon here. They were in a large clearing in a forested area, some of the trees looked familiar, but there were many that did not, some of them were very alien colors, with strangely shaped leaves, odd barks and impossibly twisted branches and trunks. At first no sounds came from the forest, the animal life, no doubt shocked into silence by the whump and the concussion blast when the two worlds parted ways after their brief interspersion. Slowly the living creatures resumed their normal existence and eerie sounds never heard on the Earth …show more content…
The barrelbird landed on his shoulder and startled him. “Er, I'm Brock, this is Perseus, Georgie, and Ernst. The dragon is Longflame and the bird on my shoulder is as of yet unnamed.” Perseus spoke to the blonde, “You talk as if you were expecting us miss sword maiden.” “I'm Gertrude, we were sent here to meet you.” “You arrived very quickly, how close is your headquarters?” Perseus asked. Gertrude answered, “It took us almost two weeks to get here, Perseus.” “We haven't even been here for fifteen minutes and no one, not even your own people, could have known we would be here two weeks ago, it's impossible.” Gertrude replied, “Is it? We're here and you're here, it doesn't seem so impossible to me.” Perseus decided to let it drop for now. “Okay Gertrude, what next? Do you think to make prisoners of us?” “Prisoners? No we have no intention of making captives of you, we're just here to escort you.” “Escort us to where exactly?” Perseus asked, “What if we refuse to go with you?” Gertrude smiled and said, “You misunderstand, we're not taking you anywhere, we're just supposed to escort you, to where I'm not exactly sure..” “To what …show more content…
Ernst pointed his pistol at the ground, nothing but pop and drop. Georgie pulled out his combat knife, “We still have these, I'm pretty sure they still work.” Akemi said, “Bladed weapons work anywhere.” She stuck out her hand, “May I examine it?” Georgie looked to Perseus for approval and handed it over when Perseus nodded. Akemi looked very carefully at it and then balanced it on one finger. “Excellent blade, though you may find it a bit short if we get into trouble. Have you no swords?” Perseus walked over to the J15 and knelt down beside it, he wondered how they had managed to take control of it so easily. It was shielded, so that no one could override its programming externally. The object that had struck the automaton back on the Earth was still embedded in its back, he pulled out his combat knife and pried it loose. The end of it was hollow, they must have bypassed the shielding by inserting something inside of the J15. Even so, the security codes were supposedly unbreakable, yet the Morpheans had the automaton under their control in less than ten seconds. He flopped the J15 onto its back and fiddled with something on its leg until it popped open, he used his combat knife to pry out something from the inside. He lifted it up and showed it to

Beatty snorted, gently. “Hell! It’s a fine bit of craftsmanship, a good rifle that can fetch its own target and guarantees the bull’s-eye every time.”

Perseus grew up to be a strong fearless lad. One day he claimed to King Polydectes, “Oh, Host and Benefactor, I owe you too much gratitude to repay you with the common gift of a horse. I shall bring you the head of Medusa!”(Evslin.110) Perseus set off for his mission, he encountered the gray sisters and the apple nymphs forcing them to give him information about Medusa’s location. Then he went to Medusa with three gifts from the apple nymphs: a sword, a shield, and the Cap of Darkness. He went on many journeys that he did not really need to go on but he did the journeys because it involved people that he loved more than himself. Some people believe that Perseus did not actually do his journey for other people, It is the way he actually goes and defeats these challenges. First, Perseus had to do a task for his mom. He did not have to do this task, But he did because he loved his mom. Then with that he gave his mom a goodbye and went off to slay medusa. (D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths, page 116) Next, Perseus had to do a task that he did not really have to do. But since this poor innocent woman was going to die for a sacrifice to Poseidon he acted. He was so quick with hermes sandals and with Hades cap it was almost too easy. Perseus did this task because it was for a good cause. (D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths, page 120) Lastly, Perseus went to back to the island and when he did his mom was not there and the king told everybody to hide from him.
