While I was a in my teens and even in my college years I remember many strange and miserable jobs. I quit in the middle of jobs. I thought some jobs would be great but eventually turned out to be not for me. Some jobs I quit after a few minutes, even jobs that I expressed to my boss what I thought about him. That wasn’t always the best idea. I am so grateful that after a great deal I can honestly say I am glad to have a career. At one point I had a job I very much disliked yet it was funny at the same time at one particular moment. The job was trying to sell a “special” vacuum cleaner. This job was the first in the sales area for me. The one thing I hated was going house to house. I would knock at people’s doors and beg them to buy the vacuum. I was just a trainee when I started this new job and had looked at the videos the company instructed me to watch to optimize my selling potential. Once all the class work was done we had to go out five days straight a field trainer, there were many doors to be knocked on.
At first I would observe the trainers do their demonstrations to th...
Day after day, I work at Home Depot. I’ve worked at Home Depot for 6 months. My position there is a cashier. A few months have gone by and all I do is show up and do my job as a cashier. The cashiers have someone who runs the front end along with every register in the store, and that person is a head ashier. After what I see the head cashiers go through, I would never want to be a head cashier for the rest of my life.
Although I was nervous because I had never done anything like this before, I had only been accustomed to cutting grass or construction jobs with my dad that only involved nailing wood and sheets of plywood. I worked for Frank for about a year and a half before I had to quit. I missed California too much, including the warm air, the smell of the dairies, and the ocean breeze. I moved back and lived with my dad. I have had a few jobs in my life that didn't last very long, either because the timing wasn't right or for other reasons.

all about working and learning, is it? My job was much more than just work, it was
I was hired quickly and kept my first job for a year. During that year, I worked quite often, which had affected my school work. I didn’t make time to study and went to bed late most nights. As much as I wanted to quit, I kept working. I wanted to quit, because I feared I couldn’t keep up with school anymore. It terrified me that I would fall so behind, and never get anywhere in life. I kept faith, and I worked hard to get where I am today. I never gave up. I did not like asking for money at home, because I knew everyone was already struggling. I felt like I needed my job, so that I could make money to pay for things myself. Without work, I wouldn’t have any lunch money for school. My grandparents helped as much as they could. It's not their job though, I felt that it wasn’t fair they had to keep spending their money on me. Working has taught me great skills. I was shy before my first job. I am now more outgoing and social; I love meeting new people. I still work to this very day, and I am working hard in school. With good time management, I’m able to keep up with
HOG SLAUGHTERHOUSE PROCESSOR - I work in a slaughterhouse where we process hogs. They come in by the truckload and sometimes I have to lead them to the killing pen and kill them with a bullet in the head. Usually this job means that the technician ends up covered with blood. The hog is then placed upon meat hooks by its hind legs. After the hog is lifted into position, its neck is slit so that blood can drain into a large vat. Sometimes it seems that gallons of blood pours out. One benefit, though, is cheap hams and bacon. We get to buy meat at very low cost. Too bad we don't make enough money to buy very much. $9.00 as processor. It's a living.
A miserable job makes a person disheartened and frustrated when they go to bed at night. It drains their energy, and their self-esteem; where one feels unappreciated and unvalued on the job. A bad job is different, its when one feels dissatisfied on the job. What are the 3 signs of a miserable job? Which one do you feel has the biggest impact on an employee?
That summer after school I just wanted to find a job and start making some money. Going to college for anther four year was something I thought I could not handle. I final got a job at UPS unloading trucks. At first I thought how hard could it be? But every day I would come home exhausted from working in the heat. And then when I got tiny pay check, it hit me. From then on I decided that manual labor was something that I could not do the rest of my life and I could definitely not support a family on that income. A job behind a desk in the air conditioning was what I wanted.

I have had two jobs in my short lifetime, one with a lawn care service and one with QuikTrip. These two jobs vary from each other greatly, and they are both pretty much on different ends of the spectrum. I have really liked the fact that these two jobs are so different from each other, and I think it has helped me to mature in a wide variety of different ways. Lawn care is a fully outside job, and the worker usually has to work really hard in the scorching sun and so they end up sweating a lot. I actually enjoyed it a lot because of the outside aspect
I was only seventeen when I started working. I lived in a very small city that I downtown area full of different stores. During the summer times, most of the stores downtown would post job listings looking for young individuals who wanted to work during the summer season. I decided that I wanted to gain some work experience and decided to apply in one of the stores. The store I worked in was called Kid City; it was a clothing store for children. I enjoyed the job I had in the beginning; all I did was open up boxes and placed the clothes in the racks so the store associates could hang them up on the store racks. I enjoyed the job because I did not have to deal with the customers that came into the store. However, I was then moved to the front of the store to
As far back as I could remember, I was always in a rush to grow up and be responsible. I was about thirteen when I realized I wanted a job, so I could have my own money. I’d even fill out applications online, lying about my age but it never worked. A few birthdays went by and I was celebrating my sixteenth birthday and a few weeks later; I received my first retail job. My very first job was at a popular teen store called Aeropostale. I learned and experienced a lot working there and made friends as well. Although, I got what I desired, I often had uncertainties once I really got the feel for the part-time position. In life, people leave and things change and by the end of my employment, I would soon look back and realize it.
The most significant job that I have held in the past was being a waitress in an Chinese restaurant. In the middle of June, I saw they were looking for bus waitress, since I was looking for a job so I asked Ms Ling - the gaffer of the waiters and waitress - to hold the position for me until after my graduation. And a week later as expected I became a?waitress?in the A Hong Hong kong & Vietnamese restaurant.
According to The Occupational Therapy Practice Framework domain and Process 3rd edition book “Occupation is used to mean all the things people want, need, or have to do, whether of physical, mental, social, sexual, political, or spiritual nature and is inclusive of sleep and rest. In its essence, my job was very dynamic. The durability of my nervous system and my problem-solving skills were put to the test every day. Despite that, I loved it. Helping people gave me a sense of fulfillment and it taught me that no matter the problem there was always a solution. The best part, however, was the night shifts. Enjoying the silence while doing repetitive tasks all night long, was so therapeutic that it made me lose track of time. When tourists came home from clubbing, however, they would often approach the front desk and me in particular. Their drunk minds assumed that I was the perfect trash for their emotional baggage. The ideal person to listen to the drama
