Apple is one of the biggest smartphone companies in the world. With 1.2 billion+ sales, they dominate Samsung’s sales (Wikipedia). In 2007, Apple came out with a brand new technology called the iPhone. It was a breakthrough because it had a touchscreen. Its slogan was “This is only the beginning.” That was very true because now they have the iPhone X. With this advancement in technology what will be next.
The iPhone 3G came out on July 11, 2008 with 1 million sales over the first weekend. The 3G had max 16 GB of storage and 128 MB of DRAM. The 3G had a 2MP camera which isn’t very good. The last iOS to support it was iOS 4.2.1. It had an App Store, MMS, and Bluetooth Audio support. Its successor was the iPhone 3GS which came out on June 19,

Just put your thumb on the home button and you’re in. The iPhone 6 came out on September 19, 2014 with 10 million sales in opening weekend. It was the first iPhone with a plus model along with 128 GB of storage. Other than that the iPhone 6 wasn’t really that big of a deal. The iPhone 6s came out September 25, 2015 with 13 million sales opening weekend. It had 2 GB of RAM and a 12 MP rear camera with a 5 MP front camera. It had 3D touch which made it easier to navigate applications. The iPhone 7 came out on September 16, 2016. It had 256 GB of storage and its plus model had 2 GB of RAM. The front facing camera upgraded to 7 MP from the iPhone 6s. It was the first iPhone to be waterproof. Although, tests did show there were some bad results from water. It also did not have a headphone jack. This made the internet criticize it because not everyone had wireless headphones. And if you did have wired headphones you’d have to put them through a dongle. The iPhone 8 will be available September 22, 2017. It has 256 GB of storage with the plus model having 3 GB of RAM. It has a 12 MP back camera and a 7 MP front camera. It will be the first iPhone to come with wireless
The advertisement of the brand new iPhone wants us the consumers to make a comparison with our recent phone, and see all these new features
Apple Inc. went from rags to riches in becoming the largest company in the world by market cap and making $108 billion in 2011 (Heather). Apple Inc. was an underdog and Microsoft was ruling the technology world. Then Apple made the iPod and the iPhone and with that they took over the technology world. Apple sold one million iPhones in the first three months of releasing of the first iPhone in 2007 (Heather). Since the beginning of Apple, Apple’s
Some experts in smartphones said iPhone are being less and less creative on designing the new phones, and no special features either. It have blamed on Steve Jobs passed away. If Apple need to keep its market leadership, it must have some change on both the hardware and software. First, there should be some breakthrough on their devices, the outlook of iPhone should imitate the market flow. For example, the screen of the iPhone should be bigger (even now iPhone 6/6s have bigger screen) and be ‘headphone-friendly’, other brand’s headphone can never be used on the iPhone, this is feature should be improve to let the customers feel new iPhone are much user-friendly than before to increase the sales and to keep its market share in a high
The case of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Explosion The newest creation for Samsung's Galaxy line was the Note 7, which was unveiled on the 2nd of August in New York. The release came three weeks before the iPhone 7 and anticipated that it would achieve $19 million in sales. Many trusted this phone to be the first to beat an iPhone. Releasing it before the iPhone 7 was a powerful procedure to take some piece of the market share. Unfortunately, the truth didn't fit the expectations.
This iPhone was thinner and lighter than ever before and was revealed on September 12th, 2012 (Savov, 2012). Everyone was a little weary because this was also the first iPhone to be completely supervised by Tim Cook. But Apple did not disappoint. With a bigger screen, LTE technology, iOS 6 software, and a new 8MP camera, there were over 2 million preorders within the first 24 hours (Savov, 2012). This was the first time in phone history where the demand exceed the supply that was available. There was only one big problem that a lot of people did not like right away. This was that Apple changed the charging port from a 30 pin connecter to the new lightening cable (Savov, 2012). It was the first change of the uniformity of the iPhone. This generation was also the most expensive and Apple was worried that the price could potentially deter people from buying their products in the future. This is where they got the idea for the iPhone 5C and 5S, the next upgrade. These phones were released on September 20th, 2013, and had a wide target due to the low cost of the 5C and the lavish upgrades of the 5S (Brewer, 2013). The iPhone 5C did lack some of the things that made the 5 special like not having Touch ID, using the A6 chip instead of the A7, and not having the slow motion recording option that the 5S does but both came with iOS 7 and most of its internal hardware was the same (Brewer, 2013). Both models sold over 9 million phones within the first three days of being released (iPhone 5C, 2013). Although a cheaper option, the 5C was not as a big success as the 5S, as Apple had overstocked the 5c and had a hard time selling them all. This is when Apple had to take a completely different approach with the future generations of the
Pros that are immediate from appearance are the size. Apple gave the iPhone 6 a 4.7 inch display, the iPhone 6 Plus a 5.5 inch display, and the same went towards the S models respectively. Apple also improved the glass making it extremely tougher than its predecessors and redesigned the entire look giving the phone rounded off edges and moving the sleep/power button to the side of the phone. As for the internals of these new phones, the cpu of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is incredibly fast while the 6S and 6S Plus are even faster. Every phone from the iPhone 5 to the 6 and 6Plus were only given 1GB of RAM and Apple gave the 6S and 6S Plus 2 GB. The cameras on these phones were phenomenal in quality in just about all aspects. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus were capable of 4K video recording which was new to iPhone users but had definitely been around on other phones. These new phones seemed perfect but they did have their flaws. Some were significant while others were minor. One of the significant cons was that the iPhone 6 Plus was very easy to bend and could even bend in some cases if it was placed in someone’s back pocket. Apple did resolve this problem with giving the 6S and 6S Plus and new 7000 series aluminum housing (Apple). This new housing was significantly stronger and could hold way more pressure than previous models. Some people also
Samsung has created its own versions of the iPhone and iPad that are usually much faster than the iPhones for the same price (Williams). This is something apple has to deal with on a regular basis, because it will push companies to always improve their products. Without competition we would probably have an iPhone that’s no better than the first one they released years ago.
...ecurity steps taken to preserve the owners’ personal and priceless information. The iPhone is a better phone overall compared to any Android device because of the careful design and attractive display, the operating system and its functionality, and the security of the device itself is definitely worth the cost to own one. Apple has really outdone there self and clearly surpassed Android devices, claiming the top spot of the competition.
Shortly after the apple iphone 6 Plus was released on September 19, records of the tool bending when placed in a pocket started to surface. One individual, for instance, stated small bending after the apple iphone was in a pocket for about 18 hours, and after that, several various other reports dripped in.
If you don 't believe how amazing the iPhone is and how it will change your life from the moment you have it in your hand, go to the store right now and see for yourself. You will never ever get face time, coverage for your phone from the company that it was made from (apple care) group chat, time-lapse, slo-mo, piano, in the camera, the find my iPhone app, front camera Touch ID, you will never find
Putting rest to all the rumors and numerous leaks surrounding its release, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have been released. Today we’ll take a look at the elder sibling of the new duo of iPhones, the iPhone 7 Plus. It has some welcome additions compared to the previous iPhone models, but there is not much of a change when it comes to the overall design. The major selling point of the 7 Plus is obviously the dual-camera setup at the rear, which is a first for the Cupertino based company.
In the 1980s, first generation (1G) cell phones consisted of voice-only analog devices with limited range and features that were sold mainly in North America. In the 1990s, second generation (2G) devices consisted of voice/data digital cell phones with higher data transfer rates, expanded range, and more features. Sales of these devices expanded to Europe and Asia. In the twenty-first century, Nokia and other companies are combining several digital technologies into third generation (3G) communication devices that reach globally and feature the convergence of the cell phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), Internet services, and multimedia applications.
to Apple Inc. in 2007. The company which had pc driving its growth over the years transformed into more of a Smartphone company. Mac pc was impressive in terms of hardware but it was Windows operating system which gave it a tough competition. To achieve a sustainable growth Apple should be focused more towards development of its operating system. Android is the main competitor for iOS. Android which is Linux based and partly open source, is more PC like than IOS. Android is easily customizable as compared to apple IOS. Apple should work aggressively towards working of development of more number of apps with the developers across the industry so as to increase the reach of IOS and making it a more preferable choice among its
Apple has predominated manufacture of personal computers, the Apple II, Macintosh, and Power Mac lines for more than two decades but faced serious sales and market share downfall during the 1990s. Steve Jobs, who was ousted from Apple computers in 1985 returned to Apple in 1996 and introduced a new philosophy of recognisable products of simple design named the original iMac in 1998. Apple established itself as a leader in consumer electronics and media sales with the introduction of iPod music player in 2001 and iTunes Music Store in 2003 both of which got immense popularity over the years which led to the development of iPhone. The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007 with its own operating system iOS in selected countries. Further upgrades to the iPhone and up...
When this phone released, it was only available on a first come first serve basis with a limitation of two phones per customer. [1] The trademark for this phone and future iPhone developments was its home button. The iPhone 3 was completely touchscreen (other than the home button), had a metal rear casing, a 3.5-inch display, and was initially the foundation for future modern smartphones to come. [6] Apple was proud to announce that on September 10, 2007, 74 days after its release the iPhone 3 sold its 1 millionth phone.
