The discipline of Electronic Engineering has involved itself greatly into today’s society. Every day, people use technology that was pioneered by those who have studied the science of electronic components and applied the engineering principles of electronics towards creating devices and technology that benefit society. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for societies benefit. As students become Electronic Engineers, they will become involved with the IEEE during their careers and help in developing new and beneficial technologies. Such examples of this emerging technology include: the development of Motor Vehicle Event Data Recording systems for vehicle safety, improving standards of connectivity for wireless devices and networking, and researching possible alternative energy resources and solutions to promote energy conservation for the community.

Electrical engineering is a field that majorly involves the use of technology in the designing, developing, and testing electrical devices. Majors in electrical engineering focuses on the physics of electricity and magnetism, analysis and design tools of engineering, and circuits and system mathematics. If one takes a course in engineering, they are trained on how to design and make products, which are safe and can enhance human life. This course is not popular to many for it is very demanding and involving; therefore many beginners feel that they are not prepared. As a result, many joining the course find it challenging hence a large number end up dropping (Dan, 55). Electricity and electrical components are a major part of our lives today. Our lives pretty much come to a halt if there is a power outage or if our electrical devices stop working, sometimes we even start panicking because we are so dependent on these components that we cannot afford to lose them and their importance and use only increases as time passes. We all use these electrical devices and also electricity itself but most of us do not think about the math and physics that works behind all of these things.
The Electronics Engineering Technician program focuses on preparation of technicians for all industries that are related to electric circuits, systems and applications. People who study this program get knowledge about electronic products, control systems and telecommunications. Students learn electric circuits, technical mathematics, programming, electric machines, etc. Also, they spend 50 per cent of their time in laboratory rooms. Students get practical skills and abilities for operations with electronic, analog, digital and programmable circuits and learn how to apply these circuits in various devices (Humber College, n.d.).

The propose research will address a problem confronting many two year institutions in the present-day (i.e. how to best plan, design, and implement WLAN technologies). From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
