The Importance of Motor Fitness in Netball
In a sport like netball, we need motor fitness; this would allow the
performer to be successfully in a game or even in any particular
activity. There are many components of motor fitness, which we apply
to in a game of netball.
Speed is one of the products of motor fitness, when playing netball
the player shall use a lot of speed when on the court. Producing quick
movements allow a player to dodge the opposition and they are able to
get free to receive a pass. A player without quick movement may slow
the game down and would not be able to get away from a player quick
enough resulting in an interception taking place, leading to lost
possession.
Agility allows a player to rapidly change body position and direction
in a precise manner. Netballers use agility a lot when participating
in a game of netball. Players use this fitness to try and put off
their opposition. They pretend to go one way and with quick body
movement they change to go another and by doing this they are able to
use leg power to speed off into a free space and receive an oncoming
pass. If you have enough power in your legs then you are able to use
it to push off from one point and change complete direction to go in
another free space on the court which would then confuse the defender
as they would carry on and it would be longer before they were to
catch up with you, by this time you may be able to have received a
pass and be ready to move on creating more space on the court.
Another motor fitness is co-ordination this allows a person to be able
to perform motor tasks in an accurate way. Co-ordination helps you
with dodging and moving around the court to get away from your marker.
Moving your body has a lot to do with co-ordination, when being marked
you may pretend to go one way and go in a different direction, all
In Introduction to the Philosophy of Sport, Heather L. Reid presents a discussion of how ethics is treated in the arena of Olympism and some of the struggles of defining and how or if the ethical guidelines should be enforced. Reid notes, “Some would say that ethical principles are always the product of a particular culture, so there can no more be universal ethical principles than there can be a universal culture” (Reid, 22). I disagree with the notion that there cannot be universal ethical principles for athletes to follow in sport because even across cultures there are general morals that shape the lives of people from all over the world. For example, murder and cheating are inherently immoral actions, no matter where someone comes from;
a player to win a toss up she will have a better reaction time than

...lso be very dangerous and easy to lose control however, unless you get accustomed to the difficult skill which could take a long time.
A course in the sociology of sport and physical activity should be part of an undergraduate curriculum in a kinesiology program because social issues that impact sports and athletes are often overlooked within kinesiology program despite playing an important role within sports. Kinesiology programs tend to focus on the impact of sport and importance of sport and physical activity and could use the insight that sociology of sport and physical activity can provide. The more we know about the social issues around sport and physical activity, and how to limit them, the more we can understand sport and how to improve it and the equality within it.

This research task requires that, through participation in skill learning and game play during the volleyball unit we have been required to observe and analyse the characteristics of skilled performers; receive feedback on weaknesses in technique and develop and participate in training activities that could correct these weaknesses.
Women in Sports Challenges appear to be part of the human experience. In the course of history, very little has come easily. The progress that women have made in sport in the United States over the course of the last 100 years seems remarkable for the amount achieved in so little time. In relation to the other advances made in this century, including men's sport, that achievement dims. While women have made great advances, they haven't, in comparison, come that far.
My heart is beating rapidly. I am filled with trepidation. Can I perform? Will I remember my routines? Will I stick the landing? Will I keep my legs straight? What if I fall off the beam? What if I disappoint my coaches? What if I’m not the best? What if…?
