Since, the Ministry of Education has been taken initiatives in English language learning and introduced multiple programmes to achieve a high standard proficiency of English. As a global competitor, Malaysia is aware of the necessary need to enhance in English in order to establish in all the aspects such as education, trade and industry (Brutt-Griffler, 2002). In order to enhance the usage of English in schools teachers play the important roles and they are the instructors for the pupils. The education system of Malaysia has recognized the importance of English language to develop English language education in line with the world trend. According to Nawal Salleh, Malaysian Examinations Syndicate director (The Star Online, 2015) explained with the global chance the importance of English need to be given priority and there was a need to give the language greater emphasis. That was the reason why the format of Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) has been changed in 2016 to emphasize in written and comprehension questions. This format was actually in line with the Standard Curriculum for Primary Schools (KSSR), School Based Assessment (PBS) and the usage of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to enhance the pupils are well established in solving problems, reasoning and creative thinking to prepare them in future. The approach that has been introduced by the Ministry of Education by separating the papers into two is to increase and improvise the level of mastery in English. If a person knows more than one language, it is an advantage for him/her to come forward in future compare to the others who only know minimal languages. English language has been spread in Malaysia since the colonization period and it plays a dominant role in the administration, government and commerce (Subramaniam, 2003). Even now, Malaysia had introduced vast programmes to build up and strengthen the usage of English starting from the younger generation.
