The Gonzaga mission statement excites me! Working for the common good while developing as a whole person is vital for anyone and especially a student like me. The Mission statement is clearly written, I was thoroughly engaged me while reading it. “Developing intellectually, spiritually, physically and emotionally”, as stated in the Mission statement is what captivated my attention. Gonzaga University’s values then goes into detail about how to fulfill Gonzaga’s mission. The strengths I noticed in the Mission and Values are its attention to detail, inclusion of everyone, and its adherence to providing Jesuit education. There is nowhere in the Mission and Values where I felt like I did not have clear understanding. From what I read, experience

Developing a long-term strategy and performance metrics are Trautwein’s top priorities. With these objectives in mind, this group focused on four components for further analysis. The internal and external factors that the organization is facing were analyzed, which allowed a definition of WTL’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. John Trautwein’s leadership style was observed, which provided characterizations of his traits and helped to identify his abilities as President of WTL. The foundation’s mission and program initiatives were evaluated in an order to determine their effectiveness. Lastly, WTL was considered from a donor’s perspective, in an order to identify motivating, and deterring factors. Further explanation of this analysis is continued below.
Clark Atlanta University will teach me how to become a better listener, show commitment, and have a positive attitude. Having the ability to be a great listener is a way that I can communicate my ideas and concerns to others. By having a positive attitude, you will achieve positive results. I strongly believe that Clark’s mission statement best defines my attributes as a future leader. The purpose of the mission statement is to prepare a diverse community of leaders to excel in their chosen endeavors and to become responsible, productive and innovative citizen leaders, locally and globally.
One major contribution I make to Texas Tech is through my work with community service. Every Texas Tech student contributes to the university though his or her actions everyday, both on campus and off campus. I choose to contribute through my actions off campus by constantly working to serve the Lubbock community in anyway possible. Working to better impact the lives of under privileged Lubbock children, helping serve at Lubbock soup kitchens, and corresponding with national community service organizations helps me to best represent my school and my values. Every time I allot an hour or two of my time to plan or attend a community service event, the school’s name is looked upon in a positive light for shaping students who will not only
Their three main core values are vigilance, service to the country, and integrity. This is all explained in their mission statement which is the picture below.
The mission and vision of Iowa state is what gives students and professors a purpose to teach, listen, and do research. We are the future and the land-grant states, “… educating the leaders of tomorrow.”. The purpose is to better the future and continue
The National Honor Society has four goals: to ignite a passion for scholarship; to inspire a fervor in its members to help others; to advocate leadership; and to further the development of fortitude and integrity in high school students. However, I believe that organizations like the National Honor Society accomplish so much more in our community and school. The National Honor Society not only unites like-minded students that are willing to work towards a better future, but it also amplifies the voices of those whose accomplishments lie in their ability to express themselves. Furthermore, NHS provides an opportunity for students like me to broaden their horizons and become active members of society.
One of the first steps in developing an organization is to develop the vision, mission and philosophy of the organization. Vision statements are used to define the goals of an organization. The mission statement of an organization is a brief statement that explains the purpose that an organization exists. The organizational philosophy outlines the set of values and beliefs that controls the operations of an organization (Marquis, 2011). UMC’s vision is “to be nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, medical education, and biomedical research.” Their mission statement is “to serve through healing, education, and discovery.” The philosophy of UMC is “to value integrity, excellence, compassion, innovation, collaboration and dedication.” (www.mc.uky.edu)
This study is related to a case conducted at Faith Community Hospital to assess the problems due to issues with their mission statement and how it is being interpreted. According to the CEO of Faith Community Hospital, very few of the members and partners seem to be following the mission statement. There are issues with organizational processes, ethics issues, and communication systems. Many staff members are operating as individuals and not as a collective unit based on their values. A moment's distraction can result in a tragic outcome.
In developing a mission statement is very important to remember that any decision is not "carved in stone" and can always be revisited. Despite the fact that the statutory goals of the organization listed in the constituent documents, these documents may be reviewed, and amended in accordance with the procedure, clearly established law. The wording of the organization's mission is periodically reviewed and refined. This process of review and refinement by itself is of great importance because it allows more clearly articulate all the intentions and wishes for the future of the organization.
I see myself living SLU’s Jesuit mission throughout my college experience and beyond in many ways. Education is very important to the Jesuits and also is to me. I plan on using my education to not only better myself, but also others.
The mission statement reads, "With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and values" (rEsource). The mission statement is too broad and the way that it is written opens up the opportunity for a wide variety of interpretations. Which is what is occurring and causing a number of problems within different departments at Faith Community Hospital.
Core Values I could easily state what I believe the value of Catholic Education to be, how it becomes the foundation for a person’s life, and helps to shape a person into a better human being but I do have trouble expressing my own core beliefs. After hours of reflection and thought to really examine myself and my life and what the very roots of it are, in the end, it is really quite simple. Christ is the center of my life! Faith in God and his loving, forgiving, unseen presence is the greatest gift I have, the component that I could not exist without. This life of Christ within me makes me who I am, and guides me do what I do.
I have been on three mission trips with Graham, served with him at my church, and spent the last two Christmases with him and his family. He is constantly trying to find ways to serve the community and make an impact on the students in our town. As a youth group leader, part of his worldview involves reaching out to kids, particularly those who have a difficult home life. This includes myself, who he took under his wing as a mentee and family friend. Graham’s worldview has influenced me in more ways that I can express, but the most evident way is in my choice of university.
“Be a student, as long as you still have something to learn and this will mean all your life” (Doherty, 2013). As students, the researchers aim to attain success in the future; and as a guide to this path, schools are implementing such things that may help the students to achieve this. And as a result, the philosophy, vision, mission, goals and outcomes (PVMGOs) of the school were making. The PVMGOs serve as guide of the school for the students, faculty, staffs and stakeholders of the campus.
